We recommend following Herm Sprenger’s official prong collar sizing guidelines to ensure both safety and effectiveness. A correct fit prevents discomfort, loss of control, or injury, while promoting clear and humane communication.
How to size:
Measure your dog’s neck and add 2″.
Select wire gauge by weight:
Up to 15 lbs → 1.5mm (MicroPlus)
Up to 60 lbs → 2.25mm (recommended)
Between 2.25mm & 3.0mm → 3.0mm Short (great middle option)
Up to 88 lbs → 3.0mm / 3.2mm
Tip: Fine-tune the fit by adding/removing prongs. The collar should sit snug and high on the neck for maximum clarity and control.

My niece loves this video and sent it to me because I’m dog-sitting their 10-month old GSD. Again. Last time, I fell twice whilst walking with him. I’m older and am frankly scared to walk him. She says it’s working, so I watched this video. You make it look easy. I’ll practice it on him, and hopefully when she returns in a week, he’ll be improved on where he was before he was dropped off. My issue is that the collar and the choker get attached because once it opened whilst she was walking. Attaching both together doesn’t make the choker work. Sigh. I may risk just using the choker. I can’t fall again. I’ll break a hip.

Most effective training I’ve ever done with my dog. This works. Both my belgians dog walk while touching my hip. Granted my dogs were already very well behaved, highly trained and good walkers but this tightened it right up since they gained some bad habits over time with lack of structure, life got busy, don’t take attention away from your dogs training keep them sharp. Follow this guide it works!
