Hi Rachel, I am an older adult, with mobility issues. I have never owned a dog. However, I have always wanted to. I adopted two Coton de Tulear siblings about 5 years ago, in December (winter!) Pups were then 3 mos. Now, Buster is 13 lb, Bella is 11 lb. pounds. A friend of mine talked about how she uses potty pads for her little dog, which helped her.
I began using potty pads in three different entries of my house. I wish I had only started with one! Time has passed and now Bella & Buster are almost 6 years old. We have moved to a new apartment, and live right next to the front door. (You can tell I’m a new dog owner, who would move Right next to the front door of an apartment building with the dogs?!). Now, my pups are regressing & doing their #2 business in my carpeted bedroom, & hallways. Any ideas? Thank you! ~Sarah
Why is she moving her hands so much??
After you move the potty pad by the back door do you take the pad outside on the grass or leave it inside at the door?
Hi
thanks for the video
my dog is 4 month toy poodle, i tell my problem to many dog trainer but still not solved, he pee on the pads correctly , but poop not ! he just poop every where , i want to he learn poop on the pads
Can this work on a two year old rescue? My dog always toilets on her walk but she’ll never alert me to use the yard (she rarely uses the yard by the way). She’ll go use the hall way instead 😮
11 week Male Yorkie.
Ha! Please help!
👋 Please help
Please kindly share Link on how/where I can buy the Gray Playpen in this video
Thank you!
I indoor trained three Chihuahuas – one as a puppy, one as a 1 year old rescue, and 1 as a 7 year old rescue. It took some work but all are dedicared indoor trained with pads upstairs and downstairs. They have run of the house mostly with some area gated off. They also love to go outside, but that isn’t always possible due to weather or time of day given work schedules. I give small treats for going and now that they are older, if they go upstairs on their pad they come flying down the stairs to get their treats! It is well worth it. Even when they go outside, they know the command to "go potty" and I still give them a small treat.
I would like to train my Chihuahua, Roxie, to potty indoors, as well. She is housebroken, and goes potty outdoors, rain , is sometimes an issue, but she manages. But sometimes on rare occasions, she will pee indoors. Now that doesn’t bother me, cause I would just clean it up and move on. But what she is peeing on is pillows, the couch, blankets. She is so tiny, and I take her with me everywhere as she is my Therapy Dog, so she goes out many times throughout the day. SO I figured, if I can train her to use one of those grassy pads (Did I mention she is Bougie?…😂), so she could relieve herself whenever she wants, when we are home. But I’m havin’ a hard time with training her to do it indoors. It’s like she will hold it, till I throw in the towel and take her out, yet she will pee indoors at her pleasure…😂. Anyone have any luck in doing this? Also I live on the 6th floor of a building, so it would help greatly as I’m not gettin’ any younger and neither is she. Any help would be appreciated.
Going to try this all week because my 3 year old Yorkie needs her updated shots and somehow she got fleas and only has been going in the yard! The grass isn’t even high
My puppy is driving me crazy. There are pads all over my floor and sometimes he will use them and others he will literally dig them up or find the only bit of carpet or floor that doesn’t have pads on and go there.
He will go outside sometimes and other times he will be outside for ages and then come in and go on the floor.
And now he has started pretending he needs to go so I take him outside and then he just wants to play instead.
I literally have to watch him every second and I’m in and out the house every 5 minutes unless I put him in his crate.
He’s so smart otherwise, he is learning everything else so quickly but toilet training is killing me
Hi, I just got a very nurves 8 month old tiny yorkie and I want to train her in door potty and eventually have her go were my other two dogs go in door on pee pad in a inclosed potty dog go potty. but she waits till I take her out of the play pen to go on my floor. I have laminate floor all through my apt. I have severe Fibromyalgia and is having a hell of a time with her. can you please help me let me know what to do. once a gain she is a very nerves 8 month old tiny tiny yorkie. PLEASE HELP.
Do you have a video on how to train your dog on NOT eating their poop?
If my poppy is already fully potty trained outside, but I need to train her to pee on a peeped. Any advice?
yikes! You are jacked on energy. It’s overwhelming. Go to .75 playback speed and this is tolerable.
My dog knows how to use a potty pad but he sometimes feels to lazy to walk over there
Just tell me how to do it, I dont need to hear all this
Thank you for this. How about the opposite? Mine is trained for outside. But bad weather we would like to train her inside too. So far she’s refusing to use the pads. She will just lay on them and be stubborn.
How do you do it when you have multiple puppies to train? We have 4, 18-week-old pugs, and they’ll go on potty pads, but occasionally, when we are letting them run around, rather than go on the potty pad that is 15 feet away, they’ll go on the carpet! They will go outside when we let them out, but when we let them all out, they want to jump and scratch you for attention.
Do you keep the same pad there if it’s a small breed. Mines is 7 weeks n extra small
Any advice on a 5 year old small breed dog when you live on a 2nd floor?
I’m trying to train reinforce training with my parents yorkie. She will poop and wants to cover it up. Either with her blanket or the pad itself.
Shes even pooped at night in her bed and covered it with the blanket. Is she trying to hide what she did because she thinks she will get in trouble? Since it’s in the night we don’t catch her doing it to tell her no. Any advice or explanation is welcomed.
How do I stop peeing and pooping on the carpet? She doesn’t show many signs… she just sits and does it!
My dog is awesome but he pees on my couch on my bed on anything that stands like a chair leg. But he won’t piss or shit on pee pad he lays on them like a bed
every hour ?! 😰
3 year old puppy, trying to pee pee pad train she keeps going at the front door when we leave she will hold both until we leave then go at the front door any ideas. She was picked up as a stray, sick and thought to have been out awhile. She is a wonderful dog otherwise.
I have been trying to potty train my 5 month old Pomeranian who sleeps with me and my wife at night and is in a now open crate while we are at work with a puppy pad in the corner that she likes to eat and knows to potty on because I reward her but when I’m no or around and am at work I watch her on ring camera and she will do what she wants instead of good behavior so she doesn’t really get fully potty trained what am I doing wrong and how should I change to get full potty training success Rachael ?
Do you have any videos of how to train a puppy to use a puppy pad in tray?
I have a designated room for my puppy to use his wee wee pads. I’ve just been trying to figure out if the door for the room should be open at all times, or if it should be closed and when he shows signs of going, I take him open the door and close it behind us (that’s what I’ve been doing so far). Your advice would be appreciated!!
How can i do every hour when i have to go to work for 8 hours and is it easier to train male pups or female pups
Any tips on training a senior dog to use pee pads? She’s trained to go outside, but she was recently diagnosed with canceron her urethra and needs to go more often and promptly. I’m not always able to drop everything to take her outside the apartment. Id like her to use the pee pad in-between walk as she needs to. If I’m not able to take her out when she gets the urge she will relieve herself on the carpet. That’s no fun. Tips please.
Hello I have the puppy pad in a extra shower with glass wall she can’t get out but all she does is whine. I open the shower and sit there and she just tries to get out and whine she won’t even sniff the puppy pads what do I do?
riddle me this batman, what do you do when the second you walk away your pup rips the pads to shreds? Still no scolding? How do I teach them to stop or that its "bad" if they aren’t suppose to be scolded?
I’m overwhelmed, got the puppy for mental health and just feel like giving up at life

I have a 9 year old dog, we just moved from the country side to the city. It’s a huge change. He pees about 5-6 times a day, sometimes more. Do you think I can train him to pee in the shower at 9 years old?
New puppy owner here , just wanted to say thank you so much for this video ! God bless❤
Hi
So I have a question. I look for signals with My shih tzu and I know for a fact he is going potty and I pick him up and gently put him on the pad and have sat with him for over 30 minutes and he doesn’t go and waits until I’m busy doing something else and goes outside of the pad. I am so frustrated because I don’t know what to do. He poops and pees all over my apartment all the time I’m tired of cleaning after him all day. Please help…
Hi, where can I find the same fence as yours? Do you have a link? Thank you
Thank your for the info. my dog goes outside to use it but I need him to learn how to use it on the pad because I can’t always take him outside so I’m trying this right now.
