Thank you for the tips! I’m really new to owning a cat, really only had her for a little over a month and noticed she has a *huge* hunt drive. She’s an indoor cat due to her allergies and the fact that I live close to a busy road so keeping her entertained is mostly down to either using the fishing rod or me throwing toys for her to chase. Especially the springs, the tubes and propeller will be great additions for her toy box.

When I was a kid my brother would use an ice fishing rod with yarn and home make cat bait toys to play with our cats. Thanks for your videos.

  3. @cricket9878 on March 31, 2025 at 3:13 am

Instead of the fishing rod what you can do is take a sturdy piece of string and attach it to a large button and drag that on the ground or floor and your cats will go nuts about that too.

Super late comment but here in the US the “finger traps” are called boinks (name brand). Try turning the ends in, they kinda look like a bone shape, you can spring them off the floor, etc. You can also put one end inside the other and make a large ring shape… just a couple ways to mix things up. Liked your why cats get bored with toys video

  5. @EB-vw9zw on March 31, 2025 at 3:18 am

What about toys for cats who are not lazy, they’re CRAZY, so he’s gonna snap that fishing rod if he catches it. Yes, I’m putting up the shelves and the posts and the trees and all that jazz but he’s just not into any toy that doesn’t act like its fighting for its life. He likes wands but I literally have to run through my entire house with it and he’s still kinda like, bitch I see the stick…

  6. @Emotocons on March 31, 2025 at 3:21 am

    Jump scare at 4:20 lol

  7. @debbiemcghee6617 on March 31, 2025 at 3:22 am

I don’t know if anyone has recommended this. It is actually a children’s toy and I had to modify it a bit but the cats liked it. Elefun. I Maine Coons as well. https://youtu.be/bP39T-koXuk?si=_usePJ-gZjPPEZiC

  8. @blackmoonroze9336 on March 31, 2025 at 3:23 am

I’m afraid to use my cat tubes – I got them in a bundle of mixed toys and they resemble so much the wire casing I bought to prevent Kitty from chewing on the wires :/ I am afraid that if he likes the cat tubes, he will start to see the wires as toys :/ do you have a similar solutions for your wires or you use something else?

As a fav toy, I am not sure he has one. I need to rotate a lot with him cos he gets bored of his toys very easily and if he’s in the mood for the "fishing rod" he will not play with the ball, and if he wants a ball, don’t give him a mouse hahaha But I think in general he prefers the furry kind of toys, and the smaller and lighter the better (as a general rule of thumb cos at times he is in the mood for bigger toys but that is rare and far in between usually) …my Kitty is so unpredictable… he doesn’t even has a routine! hehehe

  9. @lexhappinessisyou on March 31, 2025 at 3:24 am

I have a Maine Coon too, he gets bored easily. Thank you!❤

I am in love with this channel, I like new but also your reviews are up my alley. Nothing makes me angrier than toys that are almost designed to injure our cats, this is not only information its pertinent to the safety of our cats.

Thank you so much for pointing out the issues, I have had cats swallow glitter balls and OMG please review those stupid toys with glitter that goes through the fabric balls and the glitter PULLS out…so many things are just so DANGEROUS.

  11. @brunningwolf on March 31, 2025 at 3:27 am

    M
My cat has no interest in toys I buy

  12. @Roaring_Lotus on March 31, 2025 at 3:30 am

Great suggestions! My cats love the "cat dancer" for the unpredictable movements and I love how cheap it is. You can get one for under $5 online. It’s just a wire with a little cardboard on the end, but it’s always a favorite 🙂

  13. @cricket9878 on March 31, 2025 at 3:32 am

Another thing I was going to mention is don’t forget laser pointers. Cats love chasing the Red Dot.

  14. @Spyder6664 on March 31, 2025 at 3:32 am

I took on a kitten Maine Coon (6 months old) & she came with a host of toys. Feather wands, replica mice, spinney ball things all sorts

I went a bit old fashioned & her favourite toys (currently) are not those, but are a felt tip pen (lid on), few crisp packets rolled up & tied in a knot (she doesn’t chew them) & for right or wrong, a couple of plastic syringes which all have unpredictable movements when she swipes at them.

May give that tower a try though. Nice one.

  15. @annicures on March 31, 2025 at 3:37 am

Interactive toys work best with my felines. I dislike laser pointers as they’re unobtainable opposed to the fishing rod or fleece sticks.

  16. @erikabee3498 on March 31, 2025 at 3:38 am

I am sorry not to give it a like, but my most cats did not like cat toys.
My first cat liked to play with me some games we both understood. Ninja cats; if he could jumped on my back, he won!
If I touched him first he lost. And of course it had to be about 50/50.

But no he never liked toys until I went on an holliday, I left some fur mouses. He seemed to like them, but could not find them under the furniture.
Most of my cats did not really like cat toys,

Most of the toys were never good enough. Nice try but some paper crams dit mostly the trick!

  17. @janegallardo4731 on March 31, 2025 at 3:39 am

Yes, my one year old tripod loves the springs

  18. @LeeLanza on March 31, 2025 at 3:45 am

My cats were injured by KONG Da Bird. The wand for waving the bird around was not marked that it was made of fiberglass.
My kate chewed on the wand, which looked like black plastic. But the fiberglass get into their teeth and caused damage to most of their teeth. We are lucky in the Boston are to have Angell Memorial Hospital which has a feline endodontist.
the b=damaged teeth were removed and the undamaged ones wer kept in place. Cats jaws are very strong, and they
had no trouble eating even without teeth. I wrote to Kong and to Chewy, but no response, from CHewy. In the USA there is
not much regulation of pet toys. But the website Petful at least rates cat food and dog foods that hve been recalled for
    contamina, etcx

  19. @catstravaganza564 on March 31, 2025 at 3:47 am

I just noticed like all cat owners you tuck your hoodie strings in 🤣

  20. @goombakisses7398 on March 31, 2025 at 3:47 am

My kitty loves the springs. I find them EVERYWHERE! I’m going to have to try the flying propeller. Great idea!

  21. @marysales6026 on March 31, 2025 at 3:49 am

Ping pong balls entertain my 5 mo. Old kitten for hours!

  22. @deborahhatch1856 on March 31, 2025 at 3:50 am

Love the idea of the propeller toy, have all ready ordered it and know Chester will have much fun with it.

  23. @unitoolzee on March 31, 2025 at 3:54 am

My cat loved the spring toys, but I stopped using them because cats can chew off and potentially swallow pieces of the spring.

  24. @victoriao1828 on March 31, 2025 at 3:55 am

    Thank you 🥰🐾🥰

  25. @lynscott8857 on March 31, 2025 at 3:56 am

The little orange worm fuzzy looking thingy on the end of the fishing pole, will start to come off in the cats mouth, eventually. They do love this toy, however, I did not like finding the fuzzy stuff everywhere and worried about it in their stomachs, so it was put away.

  26. @Custerd1 on March 31, 2025 at 3:56 am

Cat Dancer. Cheap. Cats love it. You’re welcome.

  27. @jenvaher on March 31, 2025 at 3:58 am

Thanks for the video! I’m gonna get some of these. How did you train your cat to go play fetch and bring it back to you? I want to train my new kitty.

  28. @TeeMcKay93 on March 31, 2025 at 4:04 am

Thank you for the recommendations. I just found your channel and I love it.

  29. @janegallardo4731 on March 31, 2025 at 4:06 am

Also, my 1 year old likes to chew on cardboard voraciously

  30. @Victoria-c4n on March 31, 2025 at 4:08 am

The springs end up under the refrigerator and stove; imagine the tubes and propellers will too. Have a long thin stick to retrieve them.

  31. @willdwyer6782 on March 31, 2025 at 4:08 am

I’ve worked in the cat toy industry for more than 40 years. Interactive toys that have a string on them like a fishing pole ALWAYS require human supervision so your cats aren’t injured by getting tangled up in the string. Put them away where your cats can’t access them when they’re not in use. We have a warning about the hazards of unsupervised use in the fine print on our label next to the bar code.

We rescued a grown female Main Coon (not sure of age). She destroys pet store cat toys like they were paper. I cut a thumb off of a new welding glove and tied some rawhide to it. She seems to like it but I can’t seem to play with her as long as she wants. I’m 71 and she wears me out after about ten minutes. She loves to play rough.
