I know this is quite an old video, but I picked up the Petlinks Purrfect Mat and immediately noticed the sort of powder looking coating all over it, and came back to look if yours had the same, and it does. Is this something that’s safe to be tracked on their paws? I’m struggling to find out what exactly it is.
For my cat, regular cloth material bathroom mats works fine.
Great video! Do you know how the iPrimio Jumbo Premium Litter Mat compares to the non-premium? Seems like it’s made from a different material? I was wanting to pair it with a 2/1 150mm deep Gastronorm Pan that I use as a litter tray.
My preferred "litter mat" is something that’s not available anymore. It’s an Amazon Basics top-entry litter box (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1AR5ymmihTI). It has all the advantages you claim for mats with none of the problems of a mat. The Basics litter box has a slotted grille on top rather than a mostly solid surface like other top-entry litter boxes, basically like it’s the world’s tallest, thickest litter catcher tray. That allows litter on their paws to fall right back into the box when they jump up on top to exit. I get a small fraction of the litter that used to be on my floors. The tall sides mean no litter or liquids can get out. It has a much smaller footprint than the combination of a litter box and mat. Lots of privacy for them, too. The hinged lid flips open instantly for scooping and being slotted, doesn’t hold any litter to fall onto the floor. Unfortunately, Amazon discontinued it a few years ago. Only cost me $20 at the time and I think it’s still superior to any other top-entry litter box available today. Wish I had bought a spare when they still sold them, but mine is holding up just fine under daily use from two cats. (They seem to both like it so much that they refuse to use the other litter boxes that I keep filled if they need them.)
👍🏻
Great video! Thank you!
Hey I wondering if you can do a review on Pure balance Cat food
I love how straight-forward you are with your tests
This has helped me so much!!! Thank you 🙂
Hi @Dr
My Cat has Big Emergency problems in my point of view. Actually I gave a first bath to New cat and after bath the cats breathing is now a little bit fast and the cat has became very lazy and dont even play a game . I dont Know what to do The Doctors are off here , So Kindly would you tell me what shall I do Now . Waiting for your response !!!!!!!!!!!😢🙁
I’m looking for one that’s affordable but also durable especially for ky destructive kitten who likes tearing up litter mats also looking for something that is easy to clean and preferably water proof and non slip and helps with litter tracking
PLEASE don’t ever stop making content!!! It’s soooooo helpful!
How do you remove the odor from these after long use?
I needed a very big litter mat for multiple boxes in one space and the prices are so crazy that I went on Amazon and just bought a 4x3ft rubber outdoor work mat. It works amazing! $38 for that big and it’s textured for shoes to grip so it catches almost all the litter and can easily be cleaned, I just sweep it and you can scrub it with a brush if you need to. It’s thick also. The brand is rubber-cal but I’m sure you can find the same thing from many brands. It’s a way better value than the litter mats. The prices are insane
Where can I find the pillow please?
I ordered 2 petlinks XL gray on Chewy. The color is a drab blue. The edges ripple, and the general appearance is messy,.They appear to be complicated to clean. I got a great deal on them and Chewy has a 365 day satisfaction warranty, but I hesitate to try it.
Mallory ❤️
One like the first one has worked well for me
I have the same exact vacuum cleaner! It’s more beat up and I got it cheap at goodwill. Thing works great though lol
This is really great! I love that you are giving the sizes in centimeters!! Thank you for that!
Hey. Love your videos so much! Can you please tell me what kind of litter box that is? The white one in the left of this video. Thanks so much!
im moving from a 2bedroom to a 1bedroom and have to be more strategic with my litter box… might have to FINALLY switch over to the breeze system
Great video! Thanks!
Very informative thank you
I was going to buy the pet links purfect one. It was on sale for 26 dollars and then shipping was 20 dollars. No thanks
My favorite litter mat ever has been a regular, low pile bath mat. It traps litter better than anything else I’ve tried, each mat costs about $20, and it’s completely machine washable. Only downside is that you do need to vacuum or shake out the mat to remove trapped litter before washing. That’s the same as the drizzle mat though and it vacuums a lot better than the drizzle mat.
can we get a video about pet safe cleaning products and floor cleaners / disinfect sprays ???? love the videos , very informative ❤️❤️
#4 it might save you on litter.
I’ve used those double sided mats. Word of advice: They are very hard to clean. Just fyi.
This was a great review, I subscribed because of how thorough yet succinct it was.
Thanks!
I can’t spend a lot of money..I don’t have a lot of room His litter box is in my bedroom. It’s big enough for his Tidy Cat Breeze XL box.
I also found bath mats are useful. I use them and I can just throw them into the wash if they get soiled.
Thanks so much for this review. It’s so nice to be able to see how all the varieties perform without having to buy them all myself. 😊🐈⬛
My Foster Fail is 10 and a digger, oh boy does he dig. He has finally chosen Garfield litter that is very fine and soft on his paws, boy does it track. I started looking at my things my other cats wouldn’t use and found a chenille one that works. It’s soft on his paws and catches most of litter from his paws. It’s easy to shake out to clean, is washable. It’s a dark brown, litter is white so I can see the trail of litter on this mat. Over the past several years I was taking care of my senior cats and one geriatric little lady. They all made messes out of the box, I found the waffle type gross to clean for my situation. Hard to hose off when it winter. Thanks for video.
Hey there! I used a yoga mat that I got from Marshall’s or Ross for less than 10 bucks! It works great but I have to fold it in half because its long. I will try these next Thanks 😊 🙏

I’ve found that over time, the vacuum will tear the rubber/plastic. I’m going to shake & wash off the next mat I buy, vacuuming it only on occasion, & try to use the vacuum’s hand tool/hose rather than running the vacuum over the mat.
I think one of the hardest litters to trap is the "Sustainably Yours" litter, first because it’s so light that it seems to float out of the danged box, I swear, alway copious amounts make it out of the box. Secondly the shape is more like a flake than a granule so it won’t fall into holes in a mat but lay atop them until tracked elsewhere. Great for forming really hard clumps for easy removal at scooping time but omg so messy. It’s also super slippery on wood, laminate, and tile flooring and have almost landed on my butt several times after stepping on miniscule amounts even when wearing sneakers. It’s also extremely expensive so we basically use it as an additive to our regular clumping clay litter which isn’t always up to the challenge of quickly absorbing what our many cats and kittens produce. Am thinking the gorilla mats that we’ve used in the past until they fell apart are going to be very difficult to clean but may be the best option at this point. The last one finally completely deteriorated and shredded. They’re not that cheap at local pet stores and we have many boxes that need them so hopefully will find a knock off on Amazon being sold for less than the brand name mats.
I use dog training pads under the boxes. I have one cat that will only pee outside next to the box and only on the dog pad. It makes for quick easy clean up. Also, it captures the pee that some how escapes the protection of the litter box lid near the hinged lock downs by the other cats use. Using dog training pads has been such an improvement on my cleaning chores. I tried various forms of litter mats over the years and all just made more work than being helpful. I can see how litter mats might work for normal low maintenance cats. I just don’t have those cats.
I have old cats and started putting puppy pee pads around my litter boxes just in case and I was surprised how less litter went around the house! I put an extra one in the front of the boxes and just pick that one up dump the litter back in the box. If an accident happens it’s easy to replace
Thank you. I just ordered the iPrimio Jumbo from your link.
I don’t have liquid messes ever so I use the carpeted mats from Dollar General. I have 4 boxes, they work great. Litter comes off paws and then easily taps off when tilted. Also make great scratching areas in other places of the house.
I can confirm the gorilla grip mat is frustrating to clean, there’s always a few particles left unfortunately, but it’s decently effective (as long as your cat doesn’t like to scratch it lol)
I got the Petlinks XL in gray. I recommend avoiding the Petlinks.
The Petlinks.mat captures hardly any litter. It’s not as easy to clean as my vinyl kitchen and bathroom floors are. It doesn’t lie flat. It doesn’t have a thicker ridge at the edge to help hold urine and it’s very wobbly, so it would not be reliable to protect against spray or spills on carpeted floors. It smells bad right out of the package because its RUBBER. After washing it on a cool spring day, it stunk from being hung on my mostly shaded clothes line.
I gave it to a neighbor, then found it in the recycling 3 days later. There is no way to get the rubber smell out of rubber.
This video is a few months old. I just discovered your channel. I love it!! My only suggestion would be to have a brief recap at the end of the video. I know you have it listed in the description, but it’d be nice to have a visual list in the video, too.
Great video, time for me to upgrade from my dollar store litter mat 😅
I use a basic outdoor door mat that is rubber backed. It’s large (60" by 36") so the cats can’t just jump over it, they have to walk over it (though they don’t seem to mind this one, they HATED the honeycomb litter mat). It’s the TrafficMaster Enviroback Recycled Rubber/Thermoplastic Rib Door Mat and I paid $18 for it at Home Depot. It traps a ton of cat litter (like I could probably dump an entire box on it and barely get any outside of the mat) and it’s easy to vacuum. We haven’t had any wet accidents but I can’t see there being any problems with that given that it’s rubber backed and meant to go outdoors. If you have the room for a giant mat under your cat’s litter box, I highly recommend it!
i know this may not be the best video to comment under, but can you please do a video for cats with skin issues, like dry skin over-grooming, my cat just got dandruff, we moved from NC to TX, and Idk if its allergies. also can you review the new food
‘nacho" from bobby flay…. thank you
u remind me of zepla!
Loved the video! Been thinking of upgrading my cat litter Matt. I never realized that the little pebbles of kitty litter scattered everywhere my cat lays was not because she intended on bringing it with her but because it gets stuck to the bottom pads of her paws ! Wow, never would’ve guessed so thank you also a raw diet vid would be super!!
Mallory, your videos are so helpful! I’m interested in seeing you do one on the best wet food puzzles (for enrichment vs slow feeding) and/or DIY food puzzles (again, mostly interested for wet food). Thanks!
