Tried to get my puppy to eat kibble by stopping his raw mince and rotisserie chicken. He got diarrhoea that progressed to watery diarrhoea.

Switched back to raw meat and rotisserie chicken – no more wasting hours cleaning up diarrhoea and washing him.

Tossed all the kibble. Never getting scammed by crap again.

When I was on the farm. The dogs just ate leftovers off the table. Easy Peasy. Kept a back of kibble just in case, but rarely used.

My dog has been on a majority human food diet as I was told he had heart issues when he was young. None of his other litter (7 siblings) lived past 7or 8. Simba’s going on 14 and doesn’t even act old. People don’t realize they are cutting their dogs life in half sometimes by feeding them poorly. They will even trick themselves into thinking human food is bad for them because when they do eat it, it upsets their stomach. This often will go away after a week or so of eating healthy food.

Dogs eat real food. They don’t take food off tables, etc. because they are getting enough nutrition. Granted some dogs will have eating issues but my dog never over eats because he knows he will get what he needs no matter what.

Every dog food on the shelf is basically poison. All those choices and none of them are any good. Pet food industry is a racket.

This information comes from the dog food industry. When they claim that veterinarians recommend dry dog food, it is an attempt to make you believe that vets are nutritionists, which they are not. Even my own vet admitted that with the extensive studying required for new drugs and advanced sciences in the veterinary field, he does not have time to study nutrition for and dogs and relies on dog food salespeople (the food he sells in his own practice) to inform him about nutrition. This is alarming. Conduct your own research on what dogs need and prepare their food yourself. Your dog will appreciate it and have a better chance of living a longer, healthier life.

We make life hard for ourselves.

  8. @quicklykay on September 13, 2025 at 6:17 pm

I read that incorporating even a small amount of fresh meat/chicken, &c. is beneficial. So, that’s what I’ve started to do for my cat. I bought some tiny containers & fill them as I portion out the meat to cook or freeze for myself. I’m trying to buy better quality, otherwise.

  11. @MrElectricwave on September 13, 2025 at 6:19 pm

My uncle had a dog that lived for 17 years and he never had kibble. My aunt has a dog who’s 14 years old and has never had kibble.

    I don’t eat a balanced diet

  15. @Handle4570 on September 13, 2025 at 6:25 pm

It’s all about the money. Pet food makers sell processed foods full of dyes. Your dog’s get sick then vets charge an outrageous amount per visit

  16. @AlonzoLewisIII-zt4sk on September 13, 2025 at 6:27 pm

I fed my dog homemade dog food and when I got home from work, there was diarrhea everywhere that I had to clean up. Won’t do that again

  17. @Littlerascal0913 on September 13, 2025 at 6:27 pm

And I love the fact that a wolf in the wild can eat fucking anything and it’s nutritionally complete

  18. @lezliesecundaGLP-RD on September 13, 2025 at 6:28 pm

And now with avian flu your pets are getting those dead birds along with unnecessary starch.

  19. @PBEl-mj4en on September 13, 2025 at 6:31 pm

Kibble is crap. You’re abusing your pet by feeding it to them. Of course the pet food companies would try to convince people that feeding food scraps or making your own was bad for your pet. It makes them lose money. Want the truth? Always follow the money.

  20. @Janet-p3d on September 13, 2025 at 6:32 pm

Why would anyone with a brain feed their dog any of that processed crap? It may have been OK years and years ago but now it’s so poison it’s killing our animals. I always feed my dogs what I’m eating I eat a very good healthy diet and I make their food specifically for their own dietary issues.

  21. @kittenmimi5326 on September 13, 2025 at 6:32 pm

Very informative thank you! No clickbait and valid reasons and solution to the problem

  22. @whatabouttheearth on September 13, 2025 at 6:33 pm

Dry pet food originated as the original form of "MREs" used by the US military in the 1800s 😂

  23. @joanwayling2354 on September 13, 2025 at 6:34 pm

I enjoy making my own dog food. But only cooked no additives

  24. @karenv5103 on September 13, 2025 at 6:34 pm

My old dog had a pancreatitis attack so i started feeding him easier to digest foods until his stomach settled down. Due to weather conditions i didnt take him to a vet for a week. The blood work that was done showed it was his pancreas and his nutrition and hydration was good by the table foods i was giving him. I also feed table foods to the second dog since im giving it to the first and a couple months later they both have gained a healthy weight and their coats are becoming thicker. I keep a bowl of dry food where they can eat it anytime they want but they dont eat much of it but its there in case they get hungry.

    Just don’t over do liver

  26. @esined2386 on September 13, 2025 at 6:36 pm

I was stressing out so hard about what to feed my cat with all the problems you mentioned in this video. Cost, rocket-science-looking nutrition diets, horrible food companies you find out are owned by the same people who make "good" pet food. I was caught stagnant and left my little girl on canned dry food even if I knew it was bad because I was stuck with options that seemed dangerous. Thank you and all the other commenters for giving me a sign to take that leap forward. I’m starting tomorrow.

  27. @Magalietje on September 13, 2025 at 6:36 pm

2 months ago a tiny pregnant emaciated kitty invites herself into my life and I had to find a quick solution to feed and rehydrate her as good as possible for her and her kittens health, so gave her kittenfood (kibbles and wet food) as the vet advised me bit she didn’t drink enough so I dilute the wet food with broth or water with little fishoil and a tiny pinch of Moringapowder and mom and her kittens are doing wonderfull!

  28. @majaworek on September 13, 2025 at 6:37 pm

I would never give my cats ready made store food unless it’s an emergency and I haven’t got raw at hand as I order online balanced raw food for cats. Then only a few days or so. It’s so unhealthy and disgusting it’s crazy. Also I would never cook the food for my pets. They don’t need to be cooked. Ever. You also don’t need to add supplements if the meal is balanced including bone etc. I just give them raw egg in their raw meat a few times a week

  29. @jesus_reigns on September 13, 2025 at 6:39 pm

I would argue that for beginners its best to keep raw simple. this is perhaps the one qualm I have with this channel. While it’s fantastic for the nerds who want to geek out about specific ratios, or for raw feeders who want to double check their work, the reality is that dogs have lived alongside humans 1000s of years without formulating their meals to make sure they have correct bone and organ percentages based on their age and activity level. And while I understand some may argue surviving ≠ thriving, the point I’m trying to argue is that perfection isn’t the standard.

And its okay to just feed your dog a couple of chicken thighs and a 1 lb roll of ground beef a day. Maybe even crack an egg on top and throw in a bit of your leftover veggies. If you do that for a month, especially just coming off of kibble, your dog will still thrive! Then later you can start adding bone and organs.

Just go on how their stool is. Too loose? Meals are probably too fatty. Too firm/crumbly powder? Too much bone, add more meats and some fat (like skin-on cuts of chicken). Dog itchy? Feed sardines 1-2 times a week for omega3s for coat health. You get a feel for it while not worrying about numbers. That’s how I started.

If I had to start with precise calculations and purchasing whole chickens, duck necks, and beef liver/ kidney from day 1, I probably would have been too overwhelmed to try / would’ve burnt out. Not to mention discouraged if my dog felt overwhelmed by all the new food textures and didnt show any interest in the food.

I live in a muslim country where halal slaughtered meat is easy to find. Since halal slaughter requires the meat to be totally drained blood,it is a cleaner meat with reduced risk of contamination.
I adopted two kittens at the age of 5 weeks old. One had a couple of medical issues which was why i started reading up about raw feeding and BARF in particular. Ive bees feeding the a balanced RAW diet for the past 8 years. They are doing well. One has asthma but his symptoms are well controlled and no longer requires meds. People often ask me what breed they are because they have lovely coats and a muscular build. The poop and pee is almost odourless. They are at the point where they do not even tolerate small amounts of kibbles. I used to give it to them as treats but they will just vomit it out soon after.
Their yearly medical check ups are always normal. I would never feed my pets kibble.

  34. @Baka_Mop on September 13, 2025 at 6:44 pm

The way I think of it is that a cat in the wild is not gonna catch a bird, a mouse, a fish, and find an egg all in one day and do that every single day, so not having every nutritional requirement filled every single meal is not a big deal.

  35. @obsoleteobserver on September 13, 2025 at 6:45 pm

Im sorry but this is propaganda. Dogs and cats lived on scraps and rodents for thousands of years and thrived then this processed rubbish came along 50 years ago which isnt even a blip of time in human history and now cancer has skyrocketed. I have had 3 cats die from liver disease thans to these supermarket cat foods. No more. My cat now eats tuna, chicken, liver, eggs and some added nutrients and hes thriving. He eats better than a lot of people do. The lies that these companies and vets are spewing is causing genocide. Ridiculous that vets say you can’t make homemade cat food!! All the vaccines are unnecessary now too imo.

My dog has been on a raw food diet and now she’s been diagnosed w pancreatitis

  37. @Lee-z7s2c on September 13, 2025 at 6:47 pm

Our 4yr rotti x has had raw chicken ever since he was a pup he thrives on it ,won’t eat anything else ,he used to have wings minced but now prefers them whole

  38. @perfectlygoodslouch5212 on September 13, 2025 at 6:48 pm

It is a joke that dog food companies say we can’t provide a balanced diet for pets, they eat what we eat basically, how do we feed our kids? Big Pet Food doesn’t want us to do our own pet food

  39. @azimmusthapha365 on September 13, 2025 at 6:52 pm

I feed only chicken beef egg yellow grided chicken shells chicken heart yellow and now a then fish natural, and they love it and they don’t share 😂

  40. @kimberleebrackley2793 on September 13, 2025 at 6:54 pm

People from the city supplement my dog’s diets with abandoned cats

  42. @senorbeanoswifey on September 13, 2025 at 6:55 pm

Ok, you’ve convinced me. Im trying it. I have started cooking food at home for my golden for a while now. Which he seems to love. He was never a fan of kibble. I was honestly so nervous to try raw. But you really make it seem not so scary 😅

  44. @nedcramdon1306 on September 13, 2025 at 6:55 pm

My vets and their staff immediately were shocked when I told them about only
feeding my Abyssinian raw food. I needed to feed her their processed "vet grade" cat food.
She’s almost 5 and is healthy and happy. I never ever free fed her either. She loves her raw food.
Most people think it’s just unheard of and dangerous. This world is wacked!

  45. @abhisheksrivastava6935 on September 13, 2025 at 6:56 pm

I dont get it..dogs are carnivores..if we give them different meats on a regular basis with bones.they have evolved to eat meat so chances of bone getting stucked are pretty low…chicken red meat and fish..that should be it..and calories cannot be judged by nos. Just check you dogs weight and decide accordingly..

  46. @Sean____. on September 13, 2025 at 6:57 pm

    Why not cook the meat

  47. @pj3132 on September 13, 2025 at 7:00 pm

We bought really expensive dog food and one of my dogs was always sick with the runs. The vet had the audacity to say that our yard was dirty. How RUDE we pick our dog poop up every other day!! They didn’t have any answers for us other than we were dirty and what did they care? They were making $$$ off of us coming in to have her tested for them to give us crazy answers. I stopped feeding dog food IMMEDIATELY and started taking my chances with real food for them. Its been a journey and a lot has changed but we’re still doing it. Im still trying to improve all the time and guess how many times my dogs have had diarrhea since starting? 0. And how many times have we been to the vet for illnesses? also 0.

  48. @Kerry6691 on September 13, 2025 at 7:01 pm

We feed raw, top quality kibble and healthy homemade wholefood meals.

  49. @lauratanln on September 13, 2025 at 7:03 pm

If you really love animals/dogs, you wouldn’t buy baby animals/puppies to support breeding. Forced bred puppies come from dogs forced to live in confinement without care, walks, play but with overgrown claws, poor teeth and health from being treated as a farmed cow to produce babies continuously until they are unable to produce and killed.

  50. @TRC-7 on September 13, 2025 at 7:04 pm

Home made food always best for pets. Because dry food only prefer weekly twice full time feed not recommended. If you feed all time dry food digestion problem face that pets.
