Since it’s about to be springtime and some of you will be gardening soon. Please bear in mind that if you put out snail bait.
    Keep your pets inside!.

My grandfather planted some strawberries and decided to put down some snail bait to help control them and my then puppy decided to go outside and eat it.
Thank God for the poison control line!🙏🏻
My mother was able to reach someone. We had Shultz plant fools mix in liquid form. They recommended that we use the plant food. It was this green concoction of stuff that they used to sell that you could mix in with water.
My mother happened to have it. I will never forget her and my grandfather shooting that down my dog’s throat to save her. As she was convulsing. It worked and I was grateful my dog survived.
My grandfather was very shook up over it. He of course had no idea that that would happen. It was of course a mistake.
Just want to stop some of you from perhaps making that same mistake.
I don’t know what the Doctor would recommend now if your pet were to do that. Perhaps he’ll see this and give us an answer if peroxide is still okay.
My dog was totally fine She lived a very long happy life so it all worked out well in the end. It was terrifying to see that as a child.

Or mix it into cottage cheese or yogurt or something similar.

  29. @shelleymoore4215 on September 27, 2025 at 7:21 pm

Also make sure its not expired or it won’t work!

  30. @ellenlefavour628 on September 27, 2025 at 7:21 pm

Can you use it for cats too? I generally go for the activated charcoal, but this seems like it would work much quicker and more effectively.

  31. @kellysouter4381 on September 27, 2025 at 7:24 pm

I thought it was salt water or mustard water to induce vomiting.

  32. @CGarcia-t1s on September 27, 2025 at 7:26 pm

    Have tried this myself successfully.

  33. @OTLketolife on September 27, 2025 at 7:28 pm

  34. @mejkach on September 27, 2025 at 7:31 pm

I’ve always heard, been told by my vet when I called them (ofc they always force me to come into the office and never offer advice over the phone cause want to suck me dry of $$$) never to use Hydrogen Peroxide on wounds or give to my dog. Are they just feeding me false information?

  35. @ny_gsdluver6227 on September 27, 2025 at 7:31 pm

@Dr.Jones can you post when are the times you do NOT want to force the dog to vomit?

  36. @chiselready9320 on September 27, 2025 at 7:33 pm

    THANK YOU DR JONES

  40. @davepeaker8212 on September 27, 2025 at 7:41 pm

    I appreciate your info.Youre great

  41. @Tonisuperfly on September 27, 2025 at 7:42 pm

I had to do this several times when my puppy consumed dangerous things (daffodil bulb, blood and bone from the garden, other random things I can’t remember).

I gave it to her mixed in with milk and she drank it from a bowl. A lot easier and safer than a syringe (if they’ll drink it). 10 mins later she spewed and 5 mins after that, she’s back to normal and wants to eat 😂 (make sure you bag the vomit with doggy bags so they don’t eat it and in case you need a sample for vet). I gave a meal right away with no adverse effects.

Better out than in! Better than crossing your fingers and hoping for the best or delaying too long so the only option is surgery.

Hello vet. My pet cat is having some sort of skin problem. It’s skin is so dry and flaky and has lost fur over those spots.and also it feels like it’s skin is getting thin. We consulted many vets but nothing seems to work. Can you tell us what to do because it’s skin is getting worse day by day it’s very concerning.

  44. @SandyHandy-i2d on September 27, 2025 at 7:47 pm

    I use activated charcoal

  45. @rhetzel9031 on September 27, 2025 at 7:47 pm

Can I order syringes just anywhere

  46. @friendlybrilliant4902 on September 27, 2025 at 7:49 pm

Regarding chocolate before I knew about the issue, I had a sheltie who loved dark chocolate. She lived to 18 1/2 years, eating chocolate regularly. Her kidneys were always fine.

My dog ate a whole bag of chocolate kisses. Only the little papers were left. I called the vet , my neighbor and said that the dog took poison. He couldn’t stop laughing at the way I said it . The dog was fine, for days there was pieces of tin foil all over the yard
