There are so many things wrong with this setup. Itโ€™s not that the squirrel is smart. He doesnโ€™t have to think much get the food

I couldn’t believe it when I saw the squirrel make the leap & manage to get to the bird feeder. He actually figured out how to beat the Slinky obstacle! Incredible!

Why don’t they just secure the bottom of the slinky to the bottom of the pole?

Wow I made one of those with a slinky and the squirrels were still eating the bird feeder food next to it and I never could catch them as to how they were getting to it. Now I know ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†

  23. @sixstringer649 on March 12, 2025 at 1:17 am

Ours was so smart too. We finally defeated him. We put up a 4 inch PVC pipe over the pole.
He can’t climb up it at all now…

  24. @alejandrocamarillo8307 on March 12, 2025 at 1:17 am

From what Iโ€™ve learned, that bird feeder it landed on closes the holes where the food comes out from the weight of the squirrel. Although itโ€™s dang impressive it managed to succeed the slinky, it still shouldnโ€™t be able to eat as long as itโ€™s on the bird feeder ๐Ÿ˜‚

  25. @link8068 on March 12, 2025 at 1:17 am

Pour squirrel still got nothing that feeder shuts if the animal weighs to much

Tree rats are still rats just with fluffy tails.

They look cute unlike their cousins in the big cities but as rats, tree rats eat nuts, seeds, frogs, bird eggs, baby birds……

  50. @jefferss1639 on March 12, 2025 at 1:42 am

The obvious error is to put the feeder to the side. Mount a covered feeder bowl on a tall pole and fix the slinky underneath. Make the feeder roof from a curved plastic bowl to stop the big birds woofing all the food.I’ve done it and it works.Put the pole where squirrels can’t jump down to it.
