Feed our dogs our leftovers. They are healthy and happy. My family has done this in Mexico since I can remember. Started doing it, saves on dog food, and we dont toss out all the leftovers we have every day.

I have a 1 year old golden retriever and I want to start feeding raw food! Any recommendations as to prepackaged foods or just do it myself?

  3. @michellebarraza8765 on September 7, 2025 at 5:53 pm

Can you make a video explaining how to feed them raw and what has worked for you guys?? I have a blue nose pit bull and 2 dachshunds

  4. @MartianMan7ohtwo on September 7, 2025 at 5:55 pm

what a bout a combination of both? a bit of kibble and some raw product? just curious about what people think

  5. @tigresa7203 on September 7, 2025 at 5:55 pm

What do you buy for them as raw? I’d find it so helpful!! I make chicken soup or vegetables and grains with cooked meat

  6. @Nathaniel_knows_nothing on September 7, 2025 at 5:56 pm

    I recently got a husky
He shows digestion issues even with single protein kibble

    On the other hand raw?
    No issues what so ever

  7. @thenightfeeder-kq1vd on September 7, 2025 at 5:57 pm

When I have a pet or animal I always think if their in the wild what they usually eat

  8. @punklover99 on September 7, 2025 at 5:59 pm

Raw can be cheap, talk to your local butcher. Organ meat is usually scrapped so pick it up on the cheap

  9. @tripfisk4246 on September 7, 2025 at 6:01 pm

Chicken + rice + more expensive but not crazy expensive kibble. 1 cup of each, 2x day. Pain in the ass sometimes to prepare as opposed to just dumping dry kibble in a bowl but they’re worth it. Two pitties. Have been feeding them this for years and they’re very strong and healthy.

  10. @pauldlubaciv2867 on September 7, 2025 at 6:02 pm

Vet killed my dog with a shot a few years back, dog was healthy and passed 2 days after shot. I stopped using vets and started feding my other dog a raw diet. Within 6 weeks his hair, eyes, face, mood, and nose looked so healthy. He lost weight and looks like a show dog. Dogs aren’t meant to eat "make believe" food, pet store food is killing your pets

  11. @rogerq7369 on September 7, 2025 at 6:03 pm

Other pros: smaller, more solid poos with raw food as the dogs body uses more of the food.

  12. @Corruptedcoup on September 7, 2025 at 6:03 pm

What if my dog has a sensitive stomach and gets bad pop from meat

  13. @TheKnightGravy on September 7, 2025 at 6:03 pm

I donโ€™t eat this wellโ€ฆ River getting whatever is on sale at Samโ€™s Club and if that means he lives two years less, than that just means new river two years earlier.

  14. @phiby123 on September 7, 2025 at 6:03 pm

Disagree with all dogs loving raw!

  15. @mongotard2542 on September 7, 2025 at 6:05 pm

Try doing this is Norway, i will guarante that it would cost me 500-1000 dollars a month๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. I want to feed them raw but the cost is insane where i live.

  16. @Michael-bm2ll on September 7, 2025 at 6:06 pm

One thing to touch on is with all the poison and industrial swap in our own food and all the cancer and diabetes explosion. Dogs are experiencing it as well. The average age of a golden retriever is down 35% from where it was 40 years ago.If youโ€™re not going raw, youโ€™re killing your dogs.

  17. @andrewhansen4092 on September 7, 2025 at 6:08 pm

All my dogs are raw with open kibble. 3 times a day they get whatever im getting minus what’s bad for them. Then if there still hungry they have kibble just sitting there

  18. @xMrNight on September 7, 2025 at 6:08 pm

I mix kibble and canned meats, my dog chows it down fast so I guess it’s ok, healthy dog celebrating 9 year birthday tomorrow

  19. @22s22a on September 7, 2025 at 6:09 pm

If your dog was in the wild it wouldn’t eat kibble

  20. @slickdaddy12 on September 7, 2025 at 6:10 pm

Do the research. Raw is much better but you need to be knowledgeable. If your dogs health is top priority . . raw is the indisputable tops by a wide margin. It’s amazing what a well designed raw food can do for a dog.

  21. @adityaswarup7811 on September 7, 2025 at 6:11 pm

Dogs are descended from the Wolf, theyโ€™re carnivorous beings, theyโ€™re supposed to eat meat only

  22. @the_service_Demoลˆ_chihuahua on September 7, 2025 at 6:11 pm

What is your favorite dog breed?

  23. @AtomicalTom-p7j on September 7, 2025 at 6:11 pm

If I were to go hunting and i feed my dog raw wild meat, would i have to worry too much about parasites

  24. @jesus_reigns on September 7, 2025 at 6:12 pm

I feed my dog homemade raw. I recently just bought 4 whole chickens 1.32 per pound and my dog can eat every part of it, giblets and all. Found a youtube tutorial on how to cut it up and now I have 25 lbs worth of meat for less than $40, which at 2.5% of her body weight, will last her 14 days. I’d call that budget-friendly, especially considering that the kibble we were feeding her was $120/month.

  25. @namaste36 on September 7, 2025 at 6:14 pm

    CON; worms in raw

  26. @j-rd_3563 on September 7, 2025 at 6:15 pm

Where i live its so pricey just mince alone would cost ยฃ10 a day will need to get steak and chicken as well so thats easily 150 a week

  27. @Snookie627 on September 7, 2025 at 6:15 pm

Check out DARWINS NATURAL PET food.

  28. @NeoWolf-h6j on September 7, 2025 at 6:15 pm

I feed bullmastiff raw and she loves it, I get all meat and offal from the butchers and shop right it works out waaaay cheaper than kibble , another thing to add against feeding kibble is it doesnโ€™t clean their teeth as they say it does it does the opposite causes plaque, would never feed my dogs that garbage

  29. @WARTHUNDER_NORWAY on September 7, 2025 at 6:15 pm

Had a border collie, she was only feed leftover food and she lived to be 16 years old, healthy ad ever, i would say thats the her not being fed dry food all her life, that caused

Had a Norwegian forest cat, she was fed mostly leftover fish her life, and lived to an age of 21 years ๐Ÿ™‚

  30. @dolphinboi-playmonsterranc9668 on September 7, 2025 at 6:16 pm

Expensive quality kibble will save you time and effort, which you might not have the ability to provide with prepped meals.

I’m not saying it’s better, I’m just saying if you get tired from cooking for yourself, don’t let yourself get tired cooking for your dog, they depend on you.

If you love cooking and want another excuse to do it, raw feeding is a good idea. If you can spare the money(which you should have if you’re feeding them expensive kibble.)

  31. @cloverthegremlin699 on September 7, 2025 at 6:16 pm

Not to mention full baking can take a lot of nutritional value out

  32. @BlueT1000 on September 7, 2025 at 6:22 pm

    Sooooo…which one is best?

  33. @jordielamond6986 on September 7, 2025 at 6:24 pm

I have a 9 month old golden retriever puppy who has snobbed any kibble and pre-made canned food.. but have no idea what to feed him, how often, or how much and itโ€™s breaking my heart.. heโ€™s still intact and LOOOOVES cooked chicken. But Iโ€™m so scared to feed him raw meat/mince and idk what veggies to try for him ๐Ÿ˜ข

  34. @JethroHarvey on September 7, 2025 at 6:26 pm

I think the idea of diy dog food is awesome, but i have two main concerns. 1: it is highly likely your dog will be missing or deficient in at least one key nutrient that they need. 2: very difficult to truly have a balanced diet. Probiotics, vision, coat, digestion, joint and bone, DHA for puppies and seniors, glucosamine/chondroitin for large breed. You want good proportions of meat proteins to vegetable proteins and starches. You can call me what you want I’d rather pay $1.25/lb or so for some Victor or Pure Balance dog food that has been tested and designed by doctors and veterinarians.

  35. @jacqulineball2284 on September 7, 2025 at 6:27 pm

Well that’s an easy answer. Kibble is the same processed diet that we eat, only by Big pet food with different ingredients. My dad but a healthy dog down for diabetes without first putting him on more natural foods first. Don’t slam all raw food straight on your dogs plate, start small, or even cook it first. But kibble is processed food with grains mostly. Also over cooked with shelf life, but not nutrients in mind.

  36. @violetwoolsey7570 on September 7, 2025 at 6:27 pm

The only other con I would state for raw feeding that no one ever mentions is that people with little children may not want to go that route as things like salmonella being passed from dog to children can happen. My nutrition professor made a point in teaching that potential downside

But, thereโ€™s also nothing wrong with baking the meat through and cooking an egg with no seasonings, and maybe just a tad of butter or oil to not let things stick. This is what I personally do when I get nice additions for my pups with their high end kibble.

If you can swing a raw food or fresh food diet, go for it! But if you canโ€™t, thatโ€™s okay, thereโ€™s many ways to make sure your pets are getting the nutrition they need without hurting your pockets as much. โค

  37. @HENDRIXDYNASTY on September 7, 2025 at 6:29 pm

My Rottie eats raw chicken quarters, eggs, peanut butter, olive oil, a little pumpkin, some occasional beef. Her shit don’t stink!!!

  38. @thatdude6045 on September 7, 2025 at 6:30 pm

They cant get all the nutrients they need from raw meat. Raw meat is harder to digest and everything they lick after they eat it becomes a biohazard for your home

  39. @roelthas on September 7, 2025 at 6:30 pm

You feed the dog in front of you within your means.

  40. @justsomerandomperson6699 on September 7, 2025 at 6:31 pm

We give our dog some kibble yet with lots of toppers. My mother is too grossed out by raw so itโ€™s cooked, but our dog is very happy and a liiiittle too energetic ๐Ÿ˜…

  41. @ThisIsMyUsernameRightNow on September 7, 2025 at 6:36 pm

Then my dog licks everything with salmonella spit? Iโ€™m good. Doesnโ€™t have to be raw.

I always wanted to know, what dog breeds to opt for in a pure vegetarian family? and what foods to offer a dog so that he is easy to go in a pure vegetarian family?

My Gsd is Feed on a raw diet

  45. @coribierbaum1028 on September 7, 2025 at 6:45 pm

I have a dog who came from a bad breeder. He has so many stomach issues that he struggles to eat anything with the filler nutrients and chicken. So I have been cooking his food for the past 4 years. It’s a pain but my dog is so much happier and active now. I just wish I could use one of the prepackaged from time to time without making him sick.

  46. @mymomsaidimlazybutiaint on September 7, 2025 at 6:45 pm

I feed my gsp a diy raw diet. She does amazing . She has never once gotten sick in her entire life, her coat is shiny, her teeth clean, her poop is small and shes just super nergetic aswell. When i first got her i knew i was gonna feed her raw but i started only once the bag of kibble we got from the breeder had ended. I was still able fo see the differnecr tho!

  47. @baller3030 on September 7, 2025 at 6:45 pm

Kibble is junk/processed food. Donโ€™t feed your dog that if you have the money.

  48. @ColorlessGremlin4888 on September 7, 2025 at 6:45 pm

We do the purina one plus healthy weight as it keeps her healthy and shelikes the freeze dried turkey that comes in it

  49. @raidbossslayer5122 on September 7, 2025 at 6:46 pm

I buy the kibble and make sure that meat is actually the first ingredient
