I believe is disrespectful the way this "expert" laughs at other person’s video. Maybe the lady is not right, but laugh at her as she was stupid, it’s pretty terrible in my opinion.

  5. @Krazeegirl on April 23, 2025 at 5:10 am

I cook my dogโ€™s food too. My holistic vet gave me some things to add to his food like fish oil, organic vitamin mix, calcium powder, and a glucosamine mix powder. I always tell people who ask me about making their pets food that they need to add those in because it will be missing from the diet.

  6. @StephenChowKINGOFCOMEDY on April 23, 2025 at 5:11 am

Why you said garlic is fine?garlic is fine in small quantity, my food sometimes have garlic in it and my dog just fine eating garlic but just a very small piece.

  7. @heyysimone on April 23, 2025 at 5:13 am

Is it ok to leave minced meat raw/semi-raw though? I thought minced meat was the most dangerous because it has such a large surface area compared to like a cut of meat (eg: a cut of steak). More surface area = more bacteria.

  8. @sgtshultz13 on April 23, 2025 at 5:13 am

    Use beef and liver.

  9. @edgarvinent5765 on April 23, 2025 at 5:13 am

Actually if you know how barf or home-made dog food works seeing these video can be funny. I did it it took over one entire morning..6 to 7h to buy and proces all the ingredients for 2 weeks for few years. And nowadays I don’t believe that did it right. Balance food on a long run? Don’t think so๐Ÿ˜…now I trust those 3 o 4 companies who have set big research centers spending million with nutritionist board veterinarians. It’s Not brainer for me.

  10. @jasne2992 on April 23, 2025 at 5:13 am

Hey doc, just look at the ingredient list of most commercial dog foods, its mostly high processed unhealthy stuff, also for cats. Wonder how pets survived before canned food and kibbles flushed homes

  11. @ellietobe on April 23, 2025 at 5:14 am

Would love to know where this guy got his training on nutrition. Dog nutrition or the nutrition of some other kind of animal? Most vet schools only have a six week course on nutrition and it is not specialized.

  12. @ChrisJSmoot on April 23, 2025 at 5:16 am

she prolly did check with a vet. I’ve learned not all of them are the brightest. lol

  13. @sgtshultz13 on April 23, 2025 at 5:16 am

    Use an instapot.

  14. @jefflidberg9941 on April 23, 2025 at 5:16 am

Yeah no way store it for 3 month only if you want bacterial in the food ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ

  15. @heyysimone on April 23, 2025 at 5:16 am

Eeeeh. I only give rice to my dog if they need to be on the superbland diet of rice and boiled chicken mince, and thats usually for a stomach/digestive tract issue like diahhorea or vomitting.
And im concerned the rice she used that was microwavable was the ‘microwave in 90sec in the bag’ rice which has additives up the wazoo.
So many vets get raw/homemade dog food wrong or just straight up dont like it due to it being too hard to make sure that people follow correctly.

Love the video, but the 9:00-9:05 โ€œhmmm, thank you so muchโ€ made LOL!! Had to rewind a few times!! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

When I got my Charley 3 1/2 years ago, she refused 3 kinds of kibble including fresh pet. I started making her food. Now she eats whatever Iโ€™m eating. This has forced me to eat healthy. The vet said she was โ€œ perfectlโ€ the groomer always remarks on how healthy her skin and coat are.

  18. @Jaydoe_23 on April 23, 2025 at 5:19 am

I would have put the meat in at the end, I like to give my dog damn near raw meat!!
    But to each its own.

Every dog is different. You need to find right diet. High protein almost killed my dog from having diarrhea. Why – liver issues = low protein diet. It took me months to find what works for my dog. Try and error. He is so healthy now. And perfect ๐Ÿ’ฉ pooping ๐Ÿ˜Š

  22. @whataboutmycoffee on April 23, 2025 at 5:32 am

There are some studies that suggest garlic is not okay for Akitas/Akitas Inu’s. I came across them when looking into it for my akita. The studies said it attacked their white blood cells. It seemed to fine for many other breeds, though.

  25. @67vette on April 23, 2025 at 5:39 am

He states that dogs can eat Garlic, but many reputable dog food sites state that Garlic is indeed toxic to dogs. I am by no means an expert, but the consensus, by far, is that it is toxic.

  30. @nancyculliton1540 on April 23, 2025 at 5:44 am

Iโ€™ve done this for all my dogs. Full healthy food and a small amount of kibble
My dogs all live till 15-21 depending on size. And no ear infections uti or other costly things.

  31. @user-ub7hm2cg9o on April 23, 2025 at 5:45 am

Dogs are not Wolves, yes they evolved from Wolves, but there are a few mutations in moderns Dogs that allows them to more easily digest White Rice. Rice is a good source of carbs, some Rice is encouraged and is a good source of Carbs as Wheat can cause some dogs trouble. Too much Protein leads to Kidney Stones. Its all about common sense proportions. This lady also needed to throw in some Livers, and more eggs, a few egg shells, Fish Oil and her recipe is complete.

  32. @HalySolomon on April 23, 2025 at 5:47 am

To much carbs for the pets never a good idea

yeah, she lost me when she said i called the vet to check ? vets are not canine nutritionists ! most will only recommend which ever dry dog food they just happen make the most profit from.

  37. @chloedodoughy on April 23, 2025 at 5:52 am

This video is so atrociously unhelpful. The dramatic reaction to brown rice enrages me so much. He was totally on board until he saw the evil and appalling ~carbs~. Most dog nutritionists are self purported and didn’t actually go through any legally recognized programs or even medically recognized by any actual veterinarians of any level. My family had 3 or 4 farm dogs up in France and their entire diet was left overs cooked in a stew. Never ate consistent ingredients, always had baguettes in it, and I’ll even bet my grandpa carelessly tossed in things with too much salt in it or what have you. Those dogs last WAY longer than my American dogs that lived their lives on even the "best" dog food. My dogs in America always had some sort of allergies, disease, bad teeth, whatever. Your dog will not die from eating brown rice and I’m so upset this dude would make anyone feel like crap for doing so. There’s barely any carb that has super nutritional value but not everyone can afford several pounds of meat and don’t feel bad about it. You’re doing amazing just by cooking their food and going the length of watching a video to make sure you’re doing it right. Forget you ever watched this one though.

Add a whole food supplement like Standard Process whole body support. Homemade eggshell powder for calcium.

I put my dogs recipe in my fitness pal and calculated the macros and calories so I know how much to give them.

  42. @kegarner1012 on April 23, 2025 at 5:57 am

My dog is highly allergic to Chicken and salmon. (among a few others) I make his and i do mix with half a really good dry dog food. (limited ingredients) He gets, protein (not chicken or salmon), carrots, green beans, kale/spinach, cauliflower and broccoli, eggs 4 each. (i make a LARGE batch), flax seed, pumpkin (100%), some blueberries and either a small amount of rice ( they love this) and or quinoa, 2 corded apples and turmeric. the majority of the ingredients are organic. I take the egg shells and dry them out and smash them to a powder like and add. if the mixture is a little dry, i add a beef bone broth made for dogs. (very few ingredients, no salt. this usually takes me about 2-3.5 hrs. depending on the amount of protein, the mixture will usually be about 10 -13 cups of dogs food. Freezing is the final step.

I dont trust you either.i believe the truth is in the middle.and at some point all vets should agree search and advise all of us a healthy way to feed our animals.
I dont trust pet industry anymore.
