I have a hard time taking any ‘nutritionist’ seriously when a category is “Pee pee poo poo”

  2. @akota7526 on September 19, 2025 at 6:26 pm

The sound of the dog chewing its bone made this so hard to listen to 🙁

I think this video should be taken down because it spreads so much misinformation. When I didn’t know anything about cats, I foolishly used this video to educate myself. But as I slowly started learning more about feline nutrition, I realized this video is completely unscientific.

Yes, I agree that big brands often add unnecessary carbs, but some of these so-called “top” brands aren’t that great either. The video is just pseudo-scientific and misleads people with false nutrition claims.

P.S. Before anyone says I’m bought by some industry, I want to be clear: I was literally feeding my two cats Tiki Cat (and sometimes other “top” brands) every day. I didn’t realize the nutrient concentrations weren’t sufficient for them. No wonder they are shedding so much.

Kibble is poison. That’s all you need to understand.

Nestle being at the bottom is based as hell

Tiki Cat was bough by General Mills last year, so their recipe might change drastically or just a bit. Still take this into consideration when buying tiki cat!

what is the purpose of lying about each product’s placement in the tier list for the thumbnail? like you have the peepee poopoo ones really high up in the thumbnail isn’t this literally just. misinformation? for people who scroll by and see the thumbnail and think "wow im feeding my cat good food!" when they actually aren’t. yeah obviously you dont want to spoil the whole list in the thumbnail but the way it’s edited is really misleading and harmful imo

  8. @AngelaBrown-e9o on September 19, 2025 at 6:32 pm

I love Jackson Galaxy and I do feed wet food but that’s not true. Some cats just absolutely refuse wet food and others will eat little bits of it but absolutely prefer the crunchies of dry food basically feeding dry food is sort of the equivalent of your cats eating at McDonald’s or Burger King if it’s a good dry cat food so they say some dry food does not hurt them as long as it’s just a little bit during the day like if you’re at work I absolutely will not serve my cat by feeding him at 6:00 in the morning and then waiting making them way all day long till 6:00 at night that’s not right

Would love to know how you rank WholeHearted!

And some cats with urinary tract issues that refused to eat wet food have to have the dry and urinary tract formula

Is it ok to feed my cat wellness pate and instincts dry food, wellness doest have as good ingredients as the wet food?

I know this was 3 years ago, but just seeing this video. What is your opinion on Applaws? My two are addicted to it and honestly, their coats are super silky and soft. I get compliments all the time on their fur and how clean they are. They get Applaws kibble and wet cat food. Then they have kibble to snack on through the day but they get half a can (the 2.-something oz can) in the morning and evening. Just curious to see if it is a good food to stay with? They came out with a vitality…but my two turns their noses up at it. 😅

  18. @malindalee1 on September 19, 2025 at 6:38 pm

What are your thoughts on pork lung in cat food, such as what’s in Purina One kitten food chicken and salmon pate.

  19. @LavenderPearl22 on September 19, 2025 at 6:45 pm

My cats eat 9 Lives, is this a good brand of wet cat food?

  20. @littlekitsune1 on September 19, 2025 at 6:48 pm

From my personal research, Orijen is where it’s at. 90% of pet food is utter trash. Orijen can get expensive depending on what kind of meats you want, but they HAVE lots of (named) meats even in the basic ones. I’m below the poverty line and get my elderly cat a 4lbs bag for about $30(US) and that lasts the entire month, so I find that reasonable. Same for the wet.

  21. @newinsights5496 on September 19, 2025 at 6:49 pm

Some of this is a bit subjective….but not bad overall.

  22. @san4953 on September 19, 2025 at 6:50 pm

I’ve raised two cats and working on the third who is 11 months old. The first lived for almost 22 years (87-2008). The second lived for 17 years (08-25). My current baby is healthy, active and happy. All three ate fancy feast wet food. The kitten is thriving eating fancy feast. While I appreciate your expertise, I can’t bring myself to change the food only because it has some meat byproducts, since the first two lived long healthy lives. But thanks for sharing.

  23. @uyenphung9637 on September 19, 2025 at 6:53 pm

I tried to switch from Fancy feast to Hill wet food for my Simba and he straight up had diarrhoea and didn’t finish his food at all. So Im still feeding Fancy feast to him and everything is fine

  24. @irieknit on September 19, 2025 at 6:53 pm

Wow, cat food is horrifying. Thank you!

  25. @viconeup on September 19, 2025 at 6:54 pm

"Instinct" has clay in it irregardless of what benefits you state it does, no other cat food AT ALL has clay added to their food, if it was usefull why don’t we see it in human food? Dog food? My opinion is It is a filler and adds bulk and the potential to cause health issues in cats since it is not a viable ingredient in any cats diet, even feline species in the wild.
    You are a pet nutritionist?
And you found this "interesting"? Are you are playing it safe & trying not to step on any toes, perhaps?
I actually ran into a person at an "Instinct" food display booth at your favorite pet store😮 and he tried to hush me up when i bought it up😂. have it as an "ADDITIVE" which is exactly what is is in a MAJORITY of the cat and also, their dog food too? So felines and canine eat clay in the wild?
    I harp I know but I callout
carp when I see it, by my account that "food" belongs in your "pppp" heading… questions no judgements…😉

    PS
Ohh, that Tiki Cat food if processed in Thailand there, is a huge quality control issue ongoing in for human tofu products….if there is/are issues with human food qualitatively, what issues might there be in regards for our beloved pets/family💚 🐈 🐕 members?

  27. @Demolicious on September 19, 2025 at 6:55 pm

My cat is 21 and super picky! He hates the Authority food, and now I know why lol. I’m feeding him the Reveal tuna food at the moment and he LOVES it! It’s literally just tuna and broth. I know he could probably use the extra vitamins, but at his age I just want to make sure he’s actually eating.
also, I work at a pet store and I look for a lot of the same stuff when recommending foods!

  28. @gailremp8389 on September 19, 2025 at 6:55 pm

  30. @Niramoo on September 19, 2025 at 6:58 pm

I bought Purina Pro Plus because my vet said to switch from Tiki to a food with grains 😭 I immediately thought, nooooo I’ve been giving her pee pee poo poo no wonder she hates it. I am not listening to the vet she loved Tiki way more.

  31. @rolanechen2183 on September 19, 2025 at 7:00 pm

Can you please review foods by the company Square pet

  32. @silentpoem on September 19, 2025 at 7:01 pm

my older cat is super picky and will only eat the sheba chicken filets and nothing else D: But I’m getting my kitten to eat healthy so I’ll try to find french (local for me) equivalents for her! Thank you for the insightful info!!

  33. @rubiferrer2419 on September 19, 2025 at 7:01 pm

Help! I took my cat to the vet they did urinalysis (needle 😢) , immediately after, he wasn’t himself anymore. It’s been a week, he’s low energy, low tail, eating little food, zero water, (only the gravy from his sheba). He used to be great water drinker and kinda picky but he would eat. I took him to another vet on Monday and he said that the water aversion might be behavioral. He checked his bladder and said it’s soft and small as it should be. Still I cry most of the time and try to spoon feed my cat. I love him beyond words and I’m devastated cause he was fine and I did this to him. I want to dieee! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

  35. @gidds617 on September 19, 2025 at 7:05 pm

I’m so confused because I had my cat sitter tell me that all her cat nutritionist and vets say Purina, royal canine, and hills are the best. And here you have them at the bottom. I’m stuck lol

  36. @gailremp8389 on September 19, 2025 at 7:05 pm

    Well..I am on S$. Sigh..

  37. @vika_gudima on September 19, 2025 at 7:05 pm

My sick cat won’t eat hills or royal but loves anything out of Canada surprisingly. I’ll be trying your top favorites to see if it peaks her interest

  38. @KabukiBluesummers on September 19, 2025 at 7:09 pm

the wellness core made both my cats throw up. we’re eating Victor chicken and gravy and Nulo freeze dried salmon and chicken, with a little bit of Fromme premium dry food for crunchies.

  39. @lifeisgood3995 on September 19, 2025 at 7:10 pm

It is worthwhile to learn, as best you can, what is in your pet’s food. But the most important thing is that you give them something they will EAT. A number of these high end brands do not have particularly good reviews from pet owners who have tried them. So we can have one opinion and our cat’s can have another. Their opinion is what counts.

  40. @lyss.19 on September 19, 2025 at 7:11 pm

hi I can’t see the description or links. was curious if the top 3 are still safe?? thanks

  41. @ElviraCondomine on September 19, 2025 at 7:12 pm

Cats would eat animal derivatives in the wild. A mouse or small bird has minimal muscle meat and is mostly bones and organs.

  42. @spiveynms.9506 on September 19, 2025 at 7:13 pm

Have you ever heard of Smalls cat food? What do you think of that?

Great info and 1,000 points to you for putting it all into a beautiful visually appealing graphic. It makes my brain happy! Thank you!

  48. @DoctorBruKhar on September 19, 2025 at 7:18 pm

Whrn I was shopping for my rescue kitten I took a good hour in the cat food isle to read the labels and came to more or less the same conclusion. I ended up with the Nulo and was shocked to see a lot of the more expensive brands still used mystery meat and questionable additives.

  49. @blackosprey2219 on September 19, 2025 at 7:21 pm

This just sounds like ranking food based on label transparency. This is someone who thinks "chemicals" make food unhealthy when everything is chemicals. I don’t trust their credentials lol

  50. @philippelarocque104 on September 19, 2025 at 7:23 pm

So if you know your cat specifically, and know what they are not allergic too, the list would in theory change (specifcally for your cat, of course)?
