Pet Food Review – The BEST Food For Dogs & Cats…And What To Avoid!

Pet Food Review – The BEST Food For Dogs & Cats…And What To Avoid!

Finally, here is my long awaited pet food review for dogs and cats! It’s kind of scary that our pets are coming down with the same health issues as us, but that is because there is so much garbage in dog and cat food. Simple and starchy carbs, processed oils, and mystery meat should not be in pet food, the diet should be made of high quality protein, good fats, and some complex carbs. I hit the pet food aisle of the grocery store to show you what to look for and avoid when buying pet food. Hope you enjoyed…and I miss Josh the bichon!

Too bad the good recommended dry dog food recommended in this video are no longer being made.😔

  2. @Ava-oc1dg on March 22, 2025 at 1:41 am

Wish you had given the price. We don’t have a whole foods.

  3. @bellashalom2201 on March 22, 2025 at 1:45 am

Thank you Bobby! Wish you would make even easier by putting in order for your top 10 for dogs, etc. with links for us to click on the product so we can read the ingredients for ourselves (and then we can search online for the best price for it, even including links to best price would make this one of the best dog videos out there, as no one has good advice on dry dog food, have tried from those who seem to have decent understanding)

  4. @tangicollier3688 on March 22, 2025 at 1:46 am

Cant seem to find ORGANIX or PRISTINE dog food online

  5. @lizimorell1605 on March 22, 2025 at 1:46 am

Hello Bobby please more video for dog food on pet store , Walmart

  6. @delanabunch8990 on March 22, 2025 at 1:48 am

Wow. I’ve got 9 large rescue dogs, and I am not rich – I only make $17.50/hr – so I wish I could afford more expensive food for these beautiful dogs! I feed them Ole Roy from Walmart, plus chews, dog treats, and occasional fresh meat when it’s on sale. When I was growing up in the ’60s, there was only plain Purina, and our family German Shepherd/wolf lived long and well.

  7. @Jerry-me1fy on March 22, 2025 at 1:48 am

Alot of animals don’t like those good brands maybe because there’s not enough carbohydrates🤷

  8. @tiffanybustamanteoquinn4729 on March 22, 2025 at 1:48 am

Where do we find organix and pristine? None of the WholeFoods or PetCos have had it

  9. @sagapoetic8990 on March 22, 2025 at 1:49 am

Thank you so much for including cats, too. This information was very helpful. I try to avoid products manufactured or sourced from China. THe FDA does NOT regulate such items and the voter really needs to organise and complain to our elected officials why we need quality control over pet products and give tax breaks to us companies IN the US, not outsourcing or basing outside. The problems with the supply chain also reinforce this idea — see how prices have skyrocketed and for poorly produced items.

  10. @gwendolynsmith9532 on March 22, 2025 at 1:53 am

Any info about Sundays and Dr. Marty’s?

  11. @loleeg536 on March 22, 2025 at 1:53 am

The items put in dog foods are so scary and its so sad it isn’t more strictly regulated. Also the way the food is made, most dry kibble is heated at such a high degree it actually creates chemical that are dangerous for dogs and the food brands don’t have to report these chemicals because they didn’t technically add them in… so sad.. I do love your videos but a well balanced diet for dogs and humans is sooo important! I am skeptical of anything that completely eliminates food groups from your diet such as grains or protein or anything else that is part of a well balanced diet. I agree with comments below that substantial research has shown that grain free diets (or raw food diets) lead to health issues in dog. so sad that popular trends govern our decisions on what is ‘good’ and what is ‘bad’ these days..

  12. @tiffanybirt2035 on March 22, 2025 at 1:54 am

All the food I get does not have a long list of ingredients like these ones

  13. @toddjudson7281 on March 22, 2025 at 1:57 am

My dog and cats get a chunk of road kill deer every day. You have never seen such healthy animals.

  14. @diarobinson6499 on March 22, 2025 at 1:57 am

At my house, we use Stella and Chew. It’s was very expensive but it was worth it

  15. @SayCheeseM3dia on March 22, 2025 at 1:58 am

Wow core has L-carnitine in it too

  16. @sagapoetic8990 on March 22, 2025 at 1:59 am

One final comment here, thank you for mentioning pet allergies. Pet products like litter made in China often contain chemicals and allergens and these can be common triggers for allergies. While it is possible for people to be allergic to the animals per se, you have to see if you switch to chemical-free products how you are impacted to determine. This stuff really should be regulated by the FDA if it is imported into the US, especially since allergies can be deadly. Another reason we voters need to complain to Congress to mandate FDA inspections and tighter controls of ingredients in pet products. I have violent allergic reactions to litter made in China or to pet sprays but after switching to chemical free items or taking note of the ingredients, I now have a cat whereas in the past I mistakenly thought I was allergic to cats, not considering the products being the culprit.

  17. @Eman-pf4zz on March 22, 2025 at 2:03 am

So spectrum sunflower, organic not good oil? Should I instead get the avocado spectrum organic oil?

  18. @GoogleUser-fh8ek on March 22, 2025 at 2:04 am

Please do another pet food review! The organix company has stopped production of this line!

  19. @gamacaluso on March 22, 2025 at 2:04 am

So happy for this info! Thanks Bobby 🎉

  20. @nikkidotmpeg on March 22, 2025 at 2:06 am

    Pet shampoo?

  21. @MomCheeto4 on March 22, 2025 at 2:07 am

Aren’t the ton of synthetic vitamins listed a real problem??

  22. @Sam-n2f5q on March 22, 2025 at 2:08 am

Dog food is the same price as human food. So why bother. Also gives your dog the runs. Absolute junk. Dont feed your dog .dog food

  23. @alexepstein7094 on March 22, 2025 at 2:10 am

Go more in depth on this!

  24. @leslir4723 on March 22, 2025 at 2:10 am

Organix and Pristine are from the same company and now use Sunflower oil in their recipe. So disappointing. Bobby, please make an updated video, I can’t seem to find a Bobby approved dog/cat food :/

  25. @dz20181709 on March 22, 2025 at 2:10 am

    Prices please

  26. @missandibaby on March 22, 2025 at 2:13 am

I’m pretty sure peas, lentils, chickpeas (legumes), pea protein are not good for dogs and cause congestive heart disease. Usually stuff marked as grain free has this stuff. So most but not all grain free stuff isn’t always good. My dog has congestive heart disease/ cardiomyopathy/heart murmur and I feed him chicken and brown rice, and incorporate green beans and carrots most of the time-real food, sometimes some healthier brand canned and dry food( victor’s). i try to feed him low fat and low salt for his heart. he is still doing really well for being 16, but i still worry a lot. He coughs a lot and is on medications (pimobendan, and enalapril, cardiologist also suggested spironolactone, but haven’t put him on that yet because i read it could cause tumors as a side effect, so I don’t know- if anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated!

  27. @KarenKemper-l5w on March 22, 2025 at 2:14 am

    Thanks for the dog video!!!

  28. @ursulasimmons6731 on March 22, 2025 at 2:14 am

Hey Bobby, it’s been a long time since you addressed this topic. I was wondering if you can give an update to include mail subscription options and small training treats?

  29. @jennyxo8338 on March 22, 2025 at 2:15 am

Please please help and advise in the UK what can I do for my dogs?

  30. @ladipunkin4061 on March 22, 2025 at 2:16 am

😊found this very helpful, thanks for all you do for us!

  31. @donrijos5058 on March 22, 2025 at 2:17 am

Funny… im looking at the same bag but the ingredients are sunflower seed oil, sunflower seed food oil…. no salmon oil no coconut oil… did they change it or you were lying?

  32. @spiritualjoy721 on March 22, 2025 at 2:19 am

I have four rescue dogs and they take turns having upset tummies. I have tried grain-free and expensive brands not knowing what to look for on the labels. It would be nice to have a video on pet foods sold at Petco, PetSmart and Costco—stores most frequented by pet owners.

  33. @tamiramos5873 on March 22, 2025 at 2:20 am

Along with Carrageenan, you don’t want phosphates; Especially dicalcium phosphate. More importantly, cats, unlike dogs, are obligate carnivores.

Where can you buy this dog food?I have checked Whole Foods. They do not have it nor does amazon in dry

  35. @sagapoetic8990 on March 22, 2025 at 2:22 am

Since Amazon took over Whole Foods, their pet line has deteriorated. The Whole Paws cat foods used to be made in the US, then production was shifted to Canada and now stuff is denoted as ‘globally sourced’ which usually means from China. Customers should organise also and demand Amazon revert to how they used to make the pet food

  36. @lewokejames on March 22, 2025 at 2:22 am

Crazy how my past 3 dogs and 2 cats lived between 16-19 off of Purina and cheap grocery store food 🤦…. I’m definitely not saying if I could do it over I would still feed them those foods, and feed my current animals way higher quality foods mixed with real meat that I cook at home, but I just don’t know how my animals in the past survived so many years on the trash food.

  37. @freddycardenas1954 on March 22, 2025 at 2:23 am

The whole paws you said doesn’t have carregeenan and i just read in ingredients it does have it🥲

  38. @lizbeth2165 on March 22, 2025 at 2:23 am

Hi, Bobby. On your app, none of these are Bobby approved. Please advise! 😯

p.s.s. Here is an example of why beans no good for dogs under an amazon review of Carna4 goat dry dog food: "1.0 out of 5 stars Buyer beware
Reviewed in the United States on February 15, 2024
    Verified Purchase
Peas, lentils and chickpeas cause cardiomyopathy in dogs according to my pups cardiologist. Within 6 months of eating cardio4 she developed cardiac problems. I bought this because it has no PFCs in it. Very sad. I going to go back to my former dog food plastics and all. The vet says maybe the cardiac problems will improve without the aggravating ingredients. Here’s hoping." Probably why my dog can’t tolerate well any dry food so far as they all use either grain, too much potatoe or Beans…

  40. @barbarawalthour4459 on March 22, 2025 at 2:25 am

More please I’m concerned about what’s in our animals food half the things on labels I can’t say more less know what it is. HELP

  41. @susanjones3723 on March 22, 2025 at 2:26 am

Could you re do this without the mask? And it’s been 3 years, maybe there are new products? My dog is 2, we want the best for her!

  42. @Ava-oc1dg on March 22, 2025 at 2:26 am

    So expensive

  43. @TheTruelakersfan on March 22, 2025 at 2:28 am

@flavcity there’s a recall on organix food can you explain this ? And can you make more videos about dog food products? It’s hard to find the best food out pets that are healthy. It’s always some ingredient that’s bad. I’m thinking of just giving my dog cooked organic chicken. I live my animals and would never want them to suffer especially because they can’t speak and who knows if they’re I. Pain till it’s too late.

  44. @sarahgrimes2875 on March 22, 2025 at 2:29 am

What a the best gently cooked or raw? Doesn’t have to be in store.

  45. @CC-xb5pb on March 22, 2025 at 2:30 am

Thanks for the great video on Bobby Approved dog food! I live in California and find it easier to shop for dog food at grocery stores like Walmart, Costco, and Ralph’s. Would love to see a review of these stores for dog food options. Keep up the awesome work!😊

  46. @tramany7 on March 22, 2025 at 2:31 am

Castor and Pollux dog food the excellent one is unfortunately not making it anymore I use to feed my maltese that brand what a bummer, great video Bobby!

  47. @edithm5726 on March 22, 2025 at 2:32 am

My dogs get sick from the Pea Protein

  48. @bellashalom2201 on March 22, 2025 at 2:33 am

p.s. Bobby, most beans are not very good for dogs either. Every time I have bought even supposed high quality expensive meaty grain free dry dog food, but had some type of bean in it, my dog pooped out more than she consumed. Super hard to find something that doesn’t put grains in or too much beans…(if the beans were near the end of the list may be ok, but not as the 2nd 3rd, or second row ingredients… Cheaper to cook for your dog/ prepare fresh, but I am trying to find something to have on hand for emergencies….(aside from canned salmon, tuna, sardines, & not super pricey like freeze dried meat), watching this one now, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HkXc2AtJlfk

  49. @iMiik on March 22, 2025 at 2:35 am

yes… time for an update bobby. Petco, and maybe a private owned since they have the so called better foods like orijen redbarn taste of the wild and open farm. and please give thoughts on raw feeding. 🫶🏼✌🏼🍗
