We live where fireworks are legal and prevalent… grrr! Our girl has developed a noise phobia over the last couple of years. We’ve tried the Ewegurt and Bach Rescue Remedy to no avail. I’ve been thinking about trying the CBD oil but she doesn’t do well with hemp seed oil (or flaxseed oil which is in many pet CBD products) so I’ve been hesitant to order another (pricey) product to try that might upset her tummy in the process.

We have found that if she can see the source of the noise, she’s OK with it. However, I just can’t bring myself to try taking her near a fireworks display. Luckily when she panics she wants to get inside (the car/truck, house etc) and doesn’t flee but I just can’t bring myself to take her for fear of the anxiety that it might cause her. 🙁

One thing that we’ve done the last two firework holidays is to put a large cotton ball just inside her ear (we’re careful not to push it down – don’t want it getting deep), fold her ear down and wrap her ears with a large/wide ace bandage. She looks like an old, Polish lady but it does seem to take the edge off. She’s very tolerant of it and even seemed to like it the last time she saw me pulling the ace bandage out. I don’t pet her but will hold her in my lap or up against me which also seems to calm her a bit.

It’s pitiful to see her wide eyed, panting and so anxious but I try not to make a big deal over her – like you said I don’t want her to think that I agree with her anxiety over the noise but she sure doesn’t seem to trust us that it’s nothing to be concerned about.

We use our CBD that we produce for Pets, we give them 2-3 drops in there food once a day as a dietary supplement and our animals love it and it’s supper easy to to give them . All of our animals like it so it makes it easy. And of course exercise helps a great deal!

What will stop chiahuahua mix dogs ugly fighting. They bite and won’t let go, we can’t let them around each other anymore. They only fight with eachother or other dogs not people.
