How To Stuff a Kong

How To Stuff a Kong

🐾 Here’s an easy, quick tutorial on how to stuff a Kong!

You can use these steps for other similar stuffable dog enrichment toys as well.

Steps:

– Place Kong upside down (in a cup or mug to help hold it upright, if needed)

– Fill partially with dry ingredients like dry dog food (kibble), biscuits, freeze dried treats, training treated, etc.

– Use a spoon to add a “mushy” food on top of the dry such as peanut butter, yogurt, wet dog food, pumpkin purée, sweet potato purée, etc.

– Leave a little mound of the mushy topping on the top end of the Kong.

– Stick some dry toppings on top of the Kong, sticking out.

– Place in Tupperware or container and put in freezer for several hours or overnight to harden.

– Serve to your dogs for daily me tail enrichment, mealtime, or just as a snack!

Happy enrichment! ♥️😊🐕

Thank you soooo much. I managed to completely destroy a Kong bc I stuffed it wrong & then froze it. It was wrecked. There was zero way to get a clean ever again 😂😂 my dog hates peanut butter, so I really appreciate the other suggestions.

Please note that check the peanut butter doesn’t contain xylitol! This is v v dangerous for dogs

Buy one that’s called Laura scudder peanut butter. Only ingredient is peanuts and less than 1% of salt.

Note don’t use regular peanut butter bc some peanut butters have oils and you should only use dog friendly peanut butters bc oil is not good for your dog

Do dogs gain weight from all those treats and food? I got a Pug he gets chunky just looking at food

Excellent video. You have given me additional options that I had forgotten about. Yogurt or pumpkin puree instead of peanut butter. The pups love peanut butter but they do get tired of it sometimes. I have put the Kongs in the freezer in the summer. The pet parents have lots of plastic containers! Better than putting directly into the freezer. I really love your idea of the toppers! Very smart.

I have also heard before about preparing them in advance and always having them available. Clean right away and refill instead of leaving them lying around.
