8 week old German Shepherd puppy entering our home next week šŸ™‚

    Awesome concise and helpful content!

Never even considered mushrooms, thank you!

  5. @niveditakantipudi5809 on October 26, 2025 at 7:52 pm

Instead of a topper a far better solution would be to serve a mix of a boiled meat and a vegetable with some rice followed by a few pieces of dog friendly fruit. Simply rotate the type of meat, egg, fish and veg in different combinations. It’s not hard or time consuming and is the very best investment in your pet’s health.
Also most mushrooms are toxic to dogs and cats so I wouldn’t try those. Better stick to broccoli, beans, carrots, sweet potatoes, pumpkin and leafy greens.

What kibble brand do you recommend?

  7. @seven430 on October 26, 2025 at 7:53 pm

Are these safe for a dog with pancreatitus…? could you do a video on how to feed a dog with this?

  8. @butacrafts on October 26, 2025 at 7:56 pm

My first instinct is to thaw the frozen items. Did I do it all wrong?

  9. @fatgothartist on October 26, 2025 at 7:58 pm

I just used your bone broth recipe to make broth out of pork bones I’ve been cutting the raw bones off of pork roasts and chops saving up for a month to get a good amount of bones. My question is how much of each topper should I be giving to my dog? A tablespoon per 10 pounds? I don’t want to overfeed my baby

  10. @enriquerojas9758 on October 26, 2025 at 7:58 pm

My vet who is a dog nutritionist says feeding kibble is a kind of animal abuse. I completely agree

I recently found your channel on my youtube feed and am VERY grateful you’re here. We’re learning a lot to help keep our amazing 4 year old rescue dog, ‘Mr Fitch’, healthy and safe. I home cook fovrhim; however, because of your video about the best foods, I have just added Carva4 nuggets to his food as an added bonus to balance all of his nutrition and am super impressed on their gentle cooking methods and including absolutely no synthetic ingredients. So, thank you for that. I’m looking forward to going through your videos for added tips…. tips that we can trust. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge in a very powerful way!

Would a puree made off bone broth, greens, blueberries, and cooked mushrooms make a good topper?

  13. @RavenFirewind on October 26, 2025 at 8:08 pm

Love this! We do quail eggs because we suspect our older dog has a chicken/egg allergy (he has atopic dermatitis, and it tends to flair up really bad when an allergen is present; he also has stomach issues that we’re trying to fix with an intenstinal health kibble). I grow kale every year, and both dogs pretty much stripped the plants at the end of this season. šŸ˜‚ We also give frozen blueberries in the morning. I definitely want to get fish into their diets as well, because I want to give them the best life I can. I just wish I could afford to feed them whole foods, but this is the next best thing. ā¤

We have chickens so our dogs get eggs…..sometimes. They will just find one before we collect the eggs and eat it raw (we free range during nice days) but I mainly just soft boil them and give my 87lb Bernedoodle one for lunch when I have one. The smaller dogs can half one (65 & 55 lbs respectively). My female is a picky eater so a little egg gets her to chow down. This was wonderful information! Sharing this channel with the rest of my family!

How about powdered mushrooms? I just got a powder for myself, could I give it to my dog as well?

  16. @susanjohnson8973 on October 26, 2025 at 8:14 pm

    What about dehtdrating kale additive.?

Hey there, I have a quick couple of questions. We travel with our little Yorkie to the DR for 5 months. I am making gently cooked dog food for him. I’ve been doing it for about 2 months now. He loves it my concerns are what to feed him on travel day obviously it’s hard to take gently cooked food on a plane and secondly the recipe I have been making for him has hempseed’s or hempseed oil. We are not aloud to bring hempseeds into the DR and obviously I can’t buy them there either do you have any recommendations for alternatives. The recipe I follow is dr Karen Becker and Rodney H. I look forward to hear from you. I love the 6 topper ideas thank you

Just wanna be sure I’m fine to add things like raw chicken feet, liver, gizzards, heart, sardines and some ground meats here and there mixed with some high end kibble. Was planning on also doing veggies, fruit, broth, and also salmon oils. Or would it be best to dehydrate all of the organ meats to be safe.

  19. @Raphsophomes on October 26, 2025 at 8:20 pm

    Bone broth is NOT cheap

  20. @tiffanynguyen6064 on October 26, 2025 at 8:21 pm

Absolutely love this video!! Please make more like these!! I’ve made these changes to my dogs food and I have already noticed such a big difference in her healthā¤ļø thank you guys for all your informational and supportive videos!!

  21. @CurlliciousJae on October 26, 2025 at 8:23 pm

Would you do the same toppers at each meal or switch them up?? Like breakfast eggs and dinner kale?

  22. @15lissydoll on October 26, 2025 at 8:23 pm

Do you ever feed them the shells? I’ve seen a lot of people put the shells in for the calcium

  23. @carrol6453 on October 26, 2025 at 8:24 pm

Love your ideas. My puli loves blueberries ā¤

  24. @dreamgaits on October 26, 2025 at 8:26 pm

We have free range chickens for eggs and the dogs love them. They eat them raw shells and all.

  25. @schless5886 on October 26, 2025 at 8:26 pm

The problem with toppers is picky eaters will just pick out toppers and leave kibble behind, eventually stop eating kibble all together

Wish I’d had this info years ago. Have to put down my oldest German Shepherd this week due to an aggressive form of cancer in the jaw and head. Veterinarians here in Kansas are very concerned about the cancer rate exploding in dogs. She calls this ‘Supercancer;’ only happened in the last 12 weeks, growing to an orange-sized tumor. Already destroyed the bones in her jaw, her eye socket, and pushing her ear canal to the back of her skull. I’m devastated. And I have always asked veterinarians IS KIBBLE ALONE TRULY HEALTHY FOR OUR PETS. I’m thinking…not. Please improve your pets diet as much as you are able these days.

  27. @indonemesis1020 on October 26, 2025 at 8:31 pm

Funny thing is that i’ve seen alot of vets actually say in the contrary these days people cook way to much and add way to much stuff to dog kibble treating a dog like it’s a human wich is unnecessary šŸ˜‚ Also don’t forget dogs in the wild can sometimes go days if weeks without food and humans are so sensitive that a dog needs to eat 3 times a day otherwise it’s underfed. It’s not the dog who’s the weird species but it’s the humans šŸ˜‚

  28. @robynboone8256 on October 26, 2025 at 8:31 pm

    What about cow liver?

  29. @kimberlyj4538 on October 26, 2025 at 8:33 pm

This info is enormously helpful. When you say fish, can I feed my 10 lb Cavapoo baked salmon, cod, tilapia?

  30. @Itsametin on October 26, 2025 at 8:35 pm

Is this safe for dogs that have seizures or epilepsy?

  31. @LahraWelch on October 26, 2025 at 8:35 pm

glad that I’m giving my dogs the right human food.. thank you for this video šŸ™
    Very helpful and informative..

Is the level of sodium in the sardines and broth a concern? Obviously if making your own broth, it’s easy to leave out the salt, but I don’t see there being any good option for salt free or low salt sardines. I keep hearing vets caution against most human foods, specifically due to high salt/sugar/fat content.
