How To Find A Holistic Veterinarian with Dr. Katie Woodley

Holistic veterinarians use natural therapies to treat pets and help prevent disease ranging from food therapy to acupuncture to numerous other modalities. They often focus on treating the whole animal rather than just focusing on one area of the body or only treating symptoms. Holistic vets also look at the pet’s lifestyle, emotions, and the environment when making treatment decisions and how to help your pets feel their best.

In this video, you’ll learn about resources to use for finding a holistic veterinarian but also questions to help guide you to make sure you’re aligned with what your veterinarian recommends.

A great resource to find a holistic veterinarian is the AHVMA website: http://www.ahvma.org/Widgets/FindVet.html

I had a fabulous integrative vet who moved out of state. I am struggling to find someone to help me. Thank you for this information.

If your pet needs testing you’re on your own. In CT they all require shots for testing and the ones that are holistic don’t have testing equipment and tell you to go to vets that push dumpster darts!

Nothing in CT on AHMVA site. Any other sites? The holistic vets here either don’t have proper testing and some frauds that claim to be holistic but vax. Ugh Please help

Thank you so much. I recently found an integrated wellness department doctor for myself I have RA and many other issues since my car accident after 10 years 4 surgeries gotten so much worse and I really gave up on my most of my doctors so I’m now on the right track and my primary doctor is supportive. I have issues with one of my Shelties he’s a rescue had a horrible life of mistreatment and severe abuse he was so scared of everything and everyone for the first 6 to 8 months he is a different dog now so happy loving. Hate to say this but he was on the way with other dogs to the wet market when they got rescued We initially took him in from the ocshaltland rescue as foster parents. We failed clearly within one week. He always has horrible allergies he gets tired fast not like my other Sheltie I got from a very reputable breeder he’s Been on several meds but I stopped and have tried all the more natural approaches but I feel I’m guessing most of tue time. Even with meal prep. I have vitamins for both natural drops for gut and digestion also natural flee drops. I need a veterinarian like you. She I know this is a long message but thank you so much for your videos.

There are no holistic vets in my area. I’m in the Northeast of Pennsylvania. I had an holistic vet in New York but she retired. I’m very frustrated with the veterinarians here in PA. They don’t follow through on diagnosis and to fast to euthanize.

I went to a holistic vet who tried to push Simparica Trio on me. Beware. She also recommended vaccines for low titers. Red flag.

Thank you . I want to call your office for advice but I feel reluctant because I’m in Los Angeles and know I can’t go to you for services. I’m mentally/physically exhausted because of my 18 year old Chausie cat Sabu who has had IBD symptoms for for years and has been treated with steroids but in the past few months he’s been loosing weight and the prednisone isn’t helping with diarrhea. And he pretty much stopped eating 5 days ago. His labs yesterday didn’t show organ liver/kidney failure…… he got fluids, and anti diarrhea/vomiting meds. But still reluctant to eat, little bits of plain chicken and Churu treats, and he’s still drinking water. To top it cat my other cat who is a chubby boy suddenly doesn’t want to eat, (either stressed or jealous because of Sabu?)………….. we’re waiting for urine culture results. I tried asking about a poop culture and Fecal Transfer but the doctor was dismissive. NOW I’m posting on YouTube hoping anyone can give advice.

This video made me smile! We don’t have a holistic pet vet near but I think I have found someone who integrates and it’s the best fit. You’re so articulate and compassionate! I don’t feel alone as the owner of the local company who provides our raw food and supplements is the most wonderful and informative woman I know! She has taken the last six years to inform me and guide me regarding 5 doggies.
Thank you Dr. Katie, you’re a blessing!
