I treated my cat using this human medication : Amoxicillin 250mg/5mL. It comes as a small bottle with powder that you need to mix with water according to the instructions provided with the medication.

My cat was experiencing a blockage and could only pass two drops at most. He kept running back and forth between his two litter boxes, at least 10 times within 5 minutes.

I gave him this Amoxicillin treatment for a week, but by the fourth day, he already seemed completely cured.

In addition to the Amoxicillin, I applied one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar to the sides of his abdomen daily for a week. I didn’t dilute it because he refused to take it by syringe. However, if your pet accepts it, you can give it directly with a syringeβ€”just one teaspoon mixed with one teaspoon of water should be enough.

Also, very importantly: I completely stopped giving him kibble for 10 days!

Now my cat is healed, and it’s been more than a year and a half without any recurrence of this problem. I’ve resumed giving him kibble, but no more than a small bowl per day, and I carefully monitor his water intake. If I feel he isn’t drinking enough, I give him foods like cucumbers, watermelon, or melon, which are high in water content. If he refuses those, I force-feed him a mixture of coconut water and honey using a syringe. Occasionally, I also rub a bit of apple cider vinegar on his fur to encourage him to lick it off.

This issue can come back, so be cautious and avoid repeating past mistakes.

The dosage is 5 to 12 mg per pound (10 to 25 mg per kilogram) per dose, administered 2 times a day for 7 days.

My cat, Kuro, weighed 4.5 kg (10 lb), so the appropriate dose for him was 50 to 120 mg per dose.

For Amoxicillin 250mg/5mL, 1 mL equals 50 mg.

I gave Kuro 1.5 mL per dose (75 mg) , 2 times a day for 7 days and he was completely healed the 4th day.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if it works for your cat, and if it does, I encourage you to share this information online to help other pets and their owners. I plan to share this message on other YouTube videos about this topic as well.

I still remember how devastated I felt when I discovered my cat had this issue. Watching videos of how vets treat it made me cry so much.

I can’t believe how much this video helped me. I have two cats that have recurring urinary problems, and I’m pretty certain that FIC is what they suffer from. I have used just plain ol’ cranberry powder made for dogs and cats, and also Homeopet UTI. Both have worked very well, and I have my male cat on the cranberry daily. My outdoor semi-feral has been having issues for a few days, and she won’t eat food with the cranberry in it. The homeopathic drops are not helping this time, and she is refusing most wet food. She will only eat a tiny bit of sardines, and I’ve been dropping the drops onto that twice a day, but perhaps she is not getting enough. This video provides a lot of alternatives, so I just ordered some. Both cats are under a lot of stress, so hopefully some of these productsβ€”chamomile tea, green tea, slippery elm, and Feliway for my indoor catsβ€”will help. I can’t thank you enough for this information, Dr. Jones. I wish you still had the Ultimate Feline Health Formula.

So basically I need to treat my boy for an anxiety disorder. Any Christians in the comment section, my problem child could do with your prayers. He’s currently at the vet being treated for a UTI and is very sick. He gave us all a massive scare today when he crashed and stopped breathing by himself, but it’s now thankfully off the ventilator. It’s going to be a rough 24 hours, but we’re getting optimistic he’s going to pull though then. He’s expected to be at the vet for two to three days at least while they treat him.

These changes at home helped my cat helped tremendously after a UTI blockage scare (I know every cat is different but this worked for me)
    1) switched fully to urinary tract wet food and added a little water each time I fed to increase his water intake
    2) got some D-mannose/ cranberry paste for natural inflammation relief
    3) I bought and have been adding this Silver Sovereign’s colloidal silver spray for pets to his wet food about 3 times a day (there’s a dosage and weight chart on each box)
    4) catnip for stress
    5) put a few more water around his favorite spots

Where can we buy medication for cats, such as antibiotics? Do you get it from a vet or there is some specialty store.

  15. @fanmommusicismedicine7035 on March 8, 2025 at 12:35 am

Can I just give my cat water through syringe? He eats raw and doesn’t drink a lot of water. I had his urine tested and it was 8. The vet is going to retest in a couple days. He doesn’t have any symptoms of bladder issues or any pain.

My 16 month old male was blocked a week ago & possibly longer(he insists on being outside). He was completely lethargic. I called around to several local vets & was told he needed surgery for thousands of dollars! I decided to treat him at home with catlax & a urinary tract support supplement. Along with forcing water with chamomile tea & a dropper of diluted ACV daily. He’s now peeing & pooping normally and seems back to normal.

16# bag of cat food over $100.00. Had to throw away over half they did not eat. Last vet visit $876.00 for male cat so he could go. I take better care of the 2 cats than I take care of myself. Now it is starting all over again. I have done all the tricks dishes clean, fresh water, bubbling water, toy floating in water, wet food warm, cool, tuna in small water dish, have 4 different stations for food and water. Any help. Both have all their claws and my arms and chest can prove it. Only male has the problem. They are not bad animals.

  32. @marshafait2200 on March 8, 2025 at 12:54 am

My cat kept getting UTI. Then after an X-ray we saw something in his bladder. Thought it was stones so we got him the surgery for removing stones. The vet called me mid surgery to say it was a bladder tumour. They could only remove 90 percent of the tumour as it’s in the lining of the bladder wall. My poor baby. πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”

  34. @IamSiela on March 8, 2025 at 12:58 am

Emergency UTI block cure: acv or distilled vinegar mix with water about a tablespoon vinegar 2 tablespoons water, rub this into the skin over the shoulder area. Will save the cat. Grain free canned food alittle extra warm water at first. It’s the glysophates gotta avoid grains current practice plumping grains by spraying before harvest so no grains in treats either none. God Bless πŸ™ saving cats please try this I’ve seen it work and got the info from a cat rescue. 🐈

  35. @JakkiFN0rmus on March 8, 2025 at 12:58 am

Ive rushed my cat to the vet a handful of times with this. Its so frustrating trying to find information!
Each time he is sent home straight away and never given antibiotics etc.
The first time He did have a block but again he had to come home cos he wouldnt pee in the vet. He had pain killers and thats it.
Hes always had wee problems, very young he would leave little pink circles everywhere. Hes always peeing where jeshouldnt, even now. He has 4 trays, plenty of water and has lived with his brother for 8 years, his whole life.
Nothing will change but every now and then he just wont pee, yowls and puts me through hell.
The fact its so common should really reflct in vets pricing and transparency.

  36. @coolcat_88 on March 8, 2025 at 12:58 am

Dr., what do you think of cooking some chicken (with or without the skin), boiling it like you would for a soup, nothing added, just water to cover. Then letting the water cool, freezing it into ice cubes, and adding a few chicken broth cubes to their bowls a few times a week, to get them to drink more water? I did this when we were in a heat wave and I had to take a trip. I worried my cats wouldn’t drink enough water in my absence, so I had the cat-sitter give them their "chicken popsicles". They loved them.

how many mg do I give a 17 lb male cat 8 yrs old? Is it a he same as human gabapentin? we got the pretty litter and it turned like green. There’s no blood in his urine. He’s had a UTI before cost us $400 at the vet.

    Please say what to do

  44. @CatladyinFL on March 8, 2025 at 1:09 am

I had to board both of my cats for two weeks before I moved to where I live now. That was in early July. Being stuck in a cage for two weeks was very stressful for both cats but more so for my male cat. A few weeks ago he was diagnosed with a UTI and has been on a special diet from Hill’s Science. He was getting better but today he doesn’t feel well. I think he is constipated now. I will call regular vet tomorrow morning & hopefully get him seen asap. The emergency vet is full today so I can’t get him in to be seen there. Overall, his stress level has gone down pretty much since we moved here but I think all of this still has something to do with being boarded for two weeks. Any suggestions?

  45. @suefredbzb on March 8, 2025 at 1:10 am

I found my kitty got better when I stopped letting her come in and lick from the water after my shower. She loved doing that, but it turns out the water left there after rinsing off the soap and shampoo have high alkalinity, which is not good for urinary health.

I have switched her food with wet cat food, cranberry supplement powder, and now I just bought your CBD oil. I truly hope the CBD oil will work for all three of my cats as two of the cats are the ones stressing out the one who gets the UTI’s. Thank you for caring and sharing all of this information, I look forward to binge watching the rest of your videos and look forward to the new ones. Have a great day!

I have a sphynx cat. And I feed him earthborn wet food and their dry food sometimes. Well. We recently moved and he’s been urinating in the house so I went to the vet and got a urine analysis. And they said that his pee is very alkaline. I want to make it more acidic. Do you have any natural ideas of how to do that? They want to put me on the hills diet for him. Is that a good option or is there a better way to more natural way?
