I had original pet safe scoopfree litter box. I tried to buy a hood for it but unfortunately, it doesn’t fit original one but 2nd generation 😢

I will be HONEST… I worked a lot and LAZY when it came to changing the cats litter bcuz it smelled so bad…. After buying this machine I literally just close a Lid and put a new Tray and that’s it! Also this has saved me a shit lot of money in buying Litter.

I had one of the very first systems, it sure wasn’t perfect. It certainly looks improved. It was sooooo noisy, the box leaked (on my hardwood floor 🙄_) the two cats I had a the time weren’t fans. Over the years I like many others have spent a lot of money trying this and that "new" system, but my current cat likes his ModKat box so that is what I’m sticking with. I just don’t find it a bother to clean the box every day plus I can see if there might be any health issues. In the end, it’s not about us, but about what the cat will use. Thanks for the video.

This is better than petsmarts explanation. I have 4 beautiful reacues, which 3 are kittens. The scoop litter boxes needed to be changed every day and smells horrible as someone who works long shifts 😫 I’m definitely getting this for them 🙃

I’ve been considering a litter robot 4 because that seems to be the one to beat performance wise but man If you order it with a couple accessories you’re pushing a grand for a fancy box for your cat to defecate in. It’s a hard sell. The current price for the lr4 bundle on Amazon is $899 and the current price for the front entry petsafe model is $169. You can buy 2.76 years worth of single use litter trays for the petsafe and the litter box itself before you reach the price of the litter robot. It might be the move🤔

I think it’s also cleaner doesn’t get over the floor and they also have a sensitive crystal that you can get. That’s a Tab bit softer.
The cardboard pocket in the tray where the waste is scooped is not isolated from the smell, so you still can’t set it and forget it. There has to be a smell isolation system for that pocket so that you don’t have to deal at all with the tray until the crystals are used up.

Please don’t promote or buy automated litter boxes. You’ll thank me later. Even if a cat seems to accept it, it will add to their stress.

Does the blue crystal smell strong?
I purchased one of these and it is not that great. I received a 2nd one and still the same thing. It smells and the cat buisness does NOT go into the waste trap at all! It is just raked under the door. I have 1 cat and I would scoop this out because of the smell and these trays are expensive. I would get about 8-10 uses out of this because if you don’t your home will smell. I do not reccomend this!
We have this same model plus an older model and this particular model seems to get jammed often. The rake scoops to the front of the box, but often gets stuck in the front and wont return to its home position, followed by a blinking red light. We usually have to unplug it and plug it back in to reset it, but lately that doesnt seem to work at all now. The older model we have has had 0 problems

Word of caution, lavender is the most unsafe scent you can have around your cat. The vets I have worked with have all stress to me that lavender scents can set up respiratory infections in cats.

I use Fresh step crystals in mine with no issues. All crystals seem to work.
