Homemade Dog Toy, how to make it – GardenFork
http://GardenFork.TV Make this homemade dog toy! Its best to use cotton rope for this dog toy. We make this dog toy every few weeks, as the Labrador Retrievers lose it or tear it apart. Charlie Pup loves this tug of war dog toy, she plays all the time with Moose, the Black Labrador. wow had no idea someone can buy used tennis balls ! on the other hand i have heard one can buy used climbing rope from climbers who replace their ropes because of expire date and usage ! your vids are cute, so nice to see/hear you and your wife and dogs !
ADORABLE! gREAT
maybe you could do some dog training videos?
Great job! I see the dogs really like the rope too! I have a 3 year old lab pointer that would probably love it!, Thanks
Awesome!!! Dog toys are so expensive and this a great idea! 🙂
there’s a number of people on ebay that sell used tennis balls as dog toys, i just mowed the lawn and found several.
the lawnmower found a few as well… thx, eri c.
Thats how i see life 🙂 and thanks for posting the vid phil
thanks for the tip 😀 but my dog is a smaller dog.. and with sensative teeth so idk if she can use it 🙂
I LOVE UR YOUTUBE VIDEOS
yes, the Labradors sample everything they can put in their mouths! thx, eric.
Just a recommendation why don’t you try braiding the rope between the knots so it is a lot Less likely to tear or rip, I have a business with dogs thats is what I do 🙂
Battlefield repair tool.
excellent suggestion for the rope for the dog toy, thanks for that, eric.
The poor guy is she ever shut up
@dureyes i think a lot of people watch GardenFork to watch the dogs, not me. eric.
Haha awesome dogs!
Pitbull?
good suggestions, thank for the note here! eric.
love your name, its great. thanks for watching too, eric.
I am lucky my lab really doesnt mess up his toys He does some but it is more balls and jaw force. I really wish he liked the rope toys more but he is more balls and chasing sticks. Chases the balls to but they usually get squashed. I got this HUGE ball thinking he couldnt get it in his mouth and squash it We were so wrong
this dog toy is for the larger breeds like the Labrador Retrievers we have, but thanks for watching and commenting, eric.
*That shows me, "SIMPEL is the BEST" ;)*
Nice idea and its simple to make my staffies love it, thanks
I like that you make toys for your dogs to keep them entertained and happy but it’s true that dogs shouldn’t play with nylon rope, in researching toys for my own dog I’ve found several different sources that state that it’s not safe for animal use. This is a great tug toy that you made but you could just as easily make it using cotton rope, most feed and tack stores sell animal safe cotton rope and as an added benefit chewing on it cleans the dogs teeth as well.
Are you sure nylon rope is safe for the dogs? I’ve read that you should only use ropes that are 100% cotton. I’m guessing it’s because it’s more digestible, and the other kinds may be treated with chemicals.
my grand parents breed golden retrievers and they have lab retriveres
going to try this.. our 1 yr lab destroys toys, kongs, bones etc in minutes! hopefully this one will last at least a day or 2 lol
you sir are just a funny dude
Thank you for this!!!!
I have a large english hound, black lab, boxer mix who loves anything with a rope or ball !
Nice to see that you put some work into create toys for your dogs. If you make any more in the future I would like to see it, but please put some more thought into the material you use and advertise and loose the collar on the dog that appears at the start of the video please.
@SasyBecause i buy used tennis balls on ebay, 100 at a time. our woods have hundreds of tennis balls in there somewhere. thx, eric.

we have not had a problem with our dog toys using the rope that we do. thanks for watching! eric.
our Labradors have yard containment collars on, it keeps them in the yard and off the road. it also keeps them alive. sorry you don’t agree!
