Here’s how to shop for meat at Costco, including grass-fed options, affordable cuts, and a pro tip for shopping lamb…

In this video, I’m breaking down the meat section at Costco and sharing tips on how to choose the best options, including grass-fed versus grain-finished beef.

Understanding the sourcing and quality of your meat is crucial for optimal health, aligning with my belief that diet is a powerful tool for well-being.

While grain-finished meat can still be nutritious, opting for grass-fed when possible offers potential benefits by minimizing exposure to pesticides and mold toxins found in grains. Remember, incorporating nutrient-dense animal foods like meat and organs is key.

It’s always meat / organs / fruit / honey / raw dairy. This is an ANIMAL-BASED diet, and I believe this is the most optimal diet for humans on the planet…

My guess is the only reason studies have linked meat eating with cancer is that high temp grilling meat can create some carcinogenic hydrocarbons.

Hey I was enjoying your content recently and I like your dietary adjustments and how it’s healthy for you I just have one question. I know your "animal diet" consist of a lot of red meats. Aren’t red meats high in nitrates which is a cancer causing carcinogen? Doesn’t lead to the development of colorectal cancer? Not hating love his content just a genuine question.

How much of a difference is there in liver grass fed vs grain? Thank you!!

  17. @OffTheCuffX2 on May 26, 2025 at 12:20 pm

OMG absolutely nothing wrong with grain fed beef chicken or pork lol, I can tell you know nothing about raising farm animals. It’s like people thinking "free range" eggs make any difference other than get twice the price. The amount of beef or any other animal or eggs for that matter that you would have to eat to have any substantial benefit would be massive. The nutritional differences between grass-fed and grain-fed beef are certainly not drastic. Grass Fed, just like "free range" eggs are a good marketing ploy for getting higher prices from people easily duped.

Grass fed is deceptive. What grass and what weeds and what frets and chems…

  23. @anotherlover6954 on May 26, 2025 at 12:27 pm

Pretty sure a lot of "grass fed" beef *IS* grain-finished. That’s just something I heard — I didn’t read it from the USDA website or anything.

Are fish oil omega 3 supplements full of mercury & other heavy metals? I’ve heard that grass fed beef his omega 3 nutrients in it. Is that right?

What are thoughts on cuts like brisket? Something that is say smoked. A lot more meat that can go a long way.

  40. @flexmasterson4297 on May 26, 2025 at 12:49 pm

I’m always amazed at how so many suckers are out there who do not have a clue how animals are raised or on what. The grass fed craze is pay more for less marketing ploy.

  41. @bretburt7317 on May 26, 2025 at 12:50 pm

Amazing that we now think that $5 a pound is now cheap meat. Sometimes I wish my memory wasn’t as good as it is.

  42. @cgandy2 on May 26, 2025 at 12:51 pm

Great vid and content. I get a 1/4 beef from a local Iowa farmer and finished at a local locker. I got 215 pounds of beef for $5.13 per pound. Burger, steaks, roasts, stew meat, liver, plus a bunch of soup bones to make beef broth. I paid $1.50 per 10 pounds of beef bones. Not everyone has access to farmers but we are blessed in Iowa with so many rural areas to connect with farmers.

  43. @MightMac11 on May 26, 2025 at 12:51 pm

Another hack: ask the butchers for a 10 pound chub of 90/10. It’s cheaper than what they put out, but you have to ask for it. Not sure if it’s grass-fed or whatnot but it’s the cheapest and 90/10

  44. @rukiddingme7 on May 26, 2025 at 12:54 pm

wild pastures is offering pasture raised wild pork

  45. @morganjohnson6393 on May 26, 2025 at 12:56 pm

Grass fed pork😂 Swine doesn’t eat grass.

  46. @ashleypurdy5105 on May 26, 2025 at 12:58 pm

Who else considers fermented plants carnivore? If you think about it, the bacteria permeates the cells of the plant, processes the fiber, and unavailable nutrients like cows do with grass, and we’re really eating the bacteria and all the animal-based nutrients (like B-12) the bacteria produce

  47. @akamai25 on May 26, 2025 at 12:58 pm

    Amazing video!

I’m so sick of the grass fed rants!! We get it but we do not have unlimited funds to be evangelical zealots!!!

  49. @ahavahtobah on May 26, 2025 at 1:03 pm

I haven’t researched this but I’m pretty sure any grass fed or grass finished beef at Costco is most likely NOT hanging out in a field peeing and pooping on natural fields. Most likely they are fed grass and hay that is brought in. These feed lots are huge and with the amount of meat that is being sold at Costco there is no way they are happy outdoor cows, grazing swaying fields of grass. For that you would need to go to a farmers market and get small scale, locally produced meat. Sorry to bust your dream.
Oh I see a similar comments from a reitred organic beef farmer just below .
I’ve heard that lamb can’t be raised in unhealthy conditions, they pretty much need to be out in the fields, so that will tend to be your healthier choice (can’t say for sure though). And especially if they come from New Zealand.

Was curious what the ad was here. At the end he sells supplements, beef based. Nothing against that but is there anything on YouTube that’s not an ad? Not likely.
