My dog is hiding and panting with back hip pain . They had him on medicam & Gabapentin and just a round of Prednisone recently just received your CBD he is so restless. He will be 13 chihuahua half Bichon mix . I am really starting to get concerned he truly is not himself .
Sorry to say this, but my 3 dogs will be my last. Take your dog to the vet. The prices are ridiculous. The vets are going to cancel culture themselves. I can’t wait for the day when they’re sitting in their office. Waiting for a customer and nobody shows up.
Dr. Jones, can you shed some light on what might be happening with an older lab who is eating a healthy diet, but is suddenly losing weight?
No the real problem (in my area anyway) is the quality of vet care is nonexistent anymore. You take your dog/cat to the vet only to end up spending hundreds on crap & not the issue at hand so you have to come back or go to another vet & thousands later the issue wasn’t taken care of or even diagnosed properly. I just went through 3 vets with my 12 yr old lab & my neighbor done the same with her cat she finally found out it was diabetic & to be honest I’m shocked the cat survived up to that point. I’ve had one vet go as far as give my dog surgery that I paid for being that was what was wrong & he would be ok to find out my dog never had the surgery at all. But I paid for it!! Imagine that. And they get by with it. In my area it’s simply best not to take your dog-cat or birds to a vet. And that’s just the truth.
My chihuahua Bambi is now 17 4 mos. She has been struggling with arthritis and cataracts. She gets the Librela shot monthly and is on metacam. She no longer wants to eat or play or take walks and sleeps most of time. For the past 2 months I’ve been force feeding her with a syringe to get nutrients into her body. She now has accidents in the house and occasionally vomits bile probably because of the acid builds up in her stomach from not eating as much. Even her favorite treats she is no longer is interested in eating. I am her favorite person and now she no longer wants to interact or cuddle with me. I am questioning her quality of life and if I’m selfishly force feeding her to keep her alive. I wish there was a definitive sign when to let her go. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. 😢💔
And when you take your dog to the vet, because of something odd or suspicious, they’ll tell you there’s nothing wrong with your dog, and imply that you are being overly protective and imagining things. Then when you have to take them back in 2 to 3 weeks for the same things, PLUS, they’re now coughing up blood, they’ll FINALLY do some blood tests and find that there was something wrong all along. BUT at least you got to PAY them more money for their ignoring you and your senior dog.
We are searching through all your videos that feature Pippy. In this video, she is still sporting that fatty tumor on her wrist, I see. We’re still searching through your vids hoping to find one where Pippy’s lipoma treatments have actually worked or not – as you do not seem to show us any After Lipoma Treatment Videos
Veterinar practices have been bought by corporations whose only care is maximizing profits. They have become unaffordable. You have to pay up front or they won’t even look at your dog. I am in debt due to vet bills. Corporations turn veterinarians into salesmen on commissions with quotas to meet. New vets without experience join and are trapped by the offered benefits, get used to it and never leave. All compassion they might have is driven out of them. I’m saving so that I have enough to put her down mercifully when she is in too much pain. I can barely make ends meet. It breaks my heart. Her teeth are bad and she has a heart murmur, she’s 11 years old, the salesman (veterinarian) suggested a teeth cleaning but I should see a cardiologist (no doubt also an employee of The Corporation) to examine her before she gets a teeth cleaning to see if she will survive the anesthesia. Big profits for The Corporation—heart tests, suggested valve surgery, anesthesia. I can’t afford it and if I could no guarantee she would survive. That’s okay with them. They’ll have the money securely in their hands. I’ll be left heartbroken with the remains of my dead friend. And a big debt. Already I’m feeling remorse and guilt that I can’t afford to do all this. Love is dying in this world. Countries offering euthanasia to the sick, homeless and depressed instead of treating them.
Pippi is awesome like you brother Dr. Jones 👍✌
thank you & many blessings 🙏💚
Did fenbendazole not work on the hemangiosarcoma? I’ve lost 3 dogs to that disease over the last 30 years.
Dr., Thank you for all your video’s and also adding the words you are saying on the video. I am very hard of hearing and with captions on it does not always get the correct words that you are saying, so, THANK YOU!!! My Chihuahua mix, is about 8 years old and when younger was said she had luxating patella. No big problems till this week when she was running and her kneecap moved, ouch. She is still limping but doing better. I just rewatched your 2 of your video’s, one on patella luxating and the other on making treat’s with your "Dr. Jones Ultimate Canine health Formula". She is a very picky eater and since I feed her meat and veggies and organ meat, when I tried to add it to her food she would not touch her food. So, today I will be making her your treat recipe. Thank you for everything!
What is available for dogs with DM?
My 12 year old yorkie just needed bladder stones removed, to make a long story short, $4800, 🥲
This was time well spent.
What is the cause of reoccurring diarrhea? 10 year old GSD in otherwise good heath. He gets a high quality kibble, minimal people food. But every few weeks the situation happens. He is on the Purina Probiotic. Metrozole (spelling?) seems to help but there has to be a better way. This happens every 4-6 weeks. Thank You
What worries me is the number of older dogs in shelters never having any hope of finding a proper home because of veterinary costs. We are in our late seventies caring for our seventeen year old. Cost here in the UK skyrocketing, not the fault of our young vet who is a local farmer’s wife paying high tax and health insurance for herself along with pension fund, she’s not the one making money. At one time we had six rescued dogs, but fear this will be our last. Just wish I could have brought that old GSD home from the shelter.
I had a dog start knuckling… it was because a large tumor in his abdomen had erupted and he was in extreme pain.
My dog doesn’t let me touch her mouth, she will bite me
My senior dog has CKD (stage 3). I recently took my dog to the vet because she was limping and the x-ray revealed a torn CCL ligament but due to age and health condition surgery is not recommended. The vet gave her carprofen 75mg and other medications. Are there natural remedies that I can give my dog with all these health issues?
Keto diet for dogs!
The best way to treat your dog is with common sense if you don’t have common sense and can’t figure out that your dog is sick or has problems with his teeth stomach then you shouldn’t own a dog I’ve had dogs all my life and I know every time they’re sick
So expensive to have her seen.
You have been INVALUABLE to my Pets. THANK YOU from me & my family.
I love your videos. I always wondered how you were doing yourself to earn an income and re shape your life. It was a bold position you took to stop practising and without wanting to be nosey or prying into your business.I would be really interested if you did a video about your own journey and how upholding your principles in the face of the extreme pressure from those people who tried to destroy your career and values. One day someone might make a documentary about you.
I honor your honesty! Please send your materials and recipes; also where I can order krill oil and others to combine in cat food.
Watching my dog more closely now.
Great video. Some pet parents start to feel like they are being paranoid as their dogs age. It’s helpful to have clear hallmarks of when to go to the vet. My 9 year old dog skipped one meal and because she was always so food obsessed, I took her to the vet the next day. The day before, she was walking fine, looked fine, just didn’t seem as interested in food. The vet ran tests and said she needed a blood transfusion right away. Over the next two days, she got 4 blood transfusions, along with all the meds to push down her immune reaction but non of them worked. The vet said her immune system was destroying the new blood as fast as they introduced it. They then explained that she had developed a heart murmur and that if they continued with transfusions, she may end up having a stroke and dying anyways. We took her home and had her euthanized in her favorite place. What is crazy is how fast it all was. IMHA looks different in different dogs. I’ve read so many accounts and have been surprised how some dogs who were vomiting and not walking responded well to treatment and survived, while others pass away even after seemingly just a little sick at first. I will always wonder if I could have saved her had I taken her to the emergency the night she didn’t eat, but she had no other signs.
I took my dog to 4 different vets and only the last one came close to even an essential diagnosis.i attribute this to why my dog had survived so many years. he was my longest living rescue an American bully and their lifespans are getting longer.I also do not understand why every vet is not a full service vet
I miss pipi 😢
I can’t help wondering if there is a connection between store bought pet food and dog cancers.
How do I exam my dog’s mouth if it doesn’t let me? She’s very sweet but won’t let me exam her mouth 🙁
Hey , if I capsule cayenne, which is great for stopping bleeding an thinning blood.. can I give it to a dog…?
Thanks. I have 3 older yorkie babies
Someone gave me 40$ and a labrabull whos 12/13 years old 🙁 it was that or the shelter her reasons are her own however this dog will be given the best life possible with the short time we have together
Thank you for your videos they helps so much ❤
My senior female dog of 12 years has been drinking more water lately sometimes she’ll then throw up afterwards. She occasionally will vomit after eating her meals. All her blood tests were in the normal range in fact her veterinarian said her health is excellent for her age. Should I be concerned about anything?
I love your humility and i feel so guilty when i, an elder myself and well below poverty level disabled taking care of two elderly pups I’ve had for 12 years and took in from the streets when i had better circumstances, miss things …..hearing you say that and knowing your level of knowledge and compassion helps ease my heart and also speaks to your credibility as a life long learner …so many who can’t admit foibles are the one who can’t seen to learn. ,
Have 19 yr old lab kelpie cross Slowed down at 15
AMAZING content. Keep it up.
Thanks!
Thank-you
My 14.5 year old JR had problems weeing, it came on really suddenly and we found out that she had bladder cancer. It is a very aggressive cancer and they couldn’t do anything for her. We had to do what was right by her although it broke our hearts! I’d never heard of it before….
Also we had a 7yr old dog that got mouth cancer, we were really shocked as she had regular vet checks and nothing was noted….
Do you give online consults?? Omg I need u to see my baby’s skin where I live Hollywood fl there aren’t good vet .. they only see my credit card … Im going broke in here
The drinking water demonstration ☺️😂
Thank you
My beagle Bandit was diagnosed with fourth grade heart murmur. But another vet said he had collapse trachea. They gave me medication for his cough from trachea collapse. But when I took him back for physical. Vets said he had 4th grade heart murmur and those cough. I said yes. We need to do a x-ray that 575 dollars and before we can treat him. I asked why they said he had trachea collapse if it his heart. Then I asked could the mass on his neck by his throat be problem. No he has conjestive heart failure.
RIP pipi
I had a dog at about 9 that started to drag his nails. I took him to his veterinarian who said they would have to do testing to the tune of $5,000+- to find out what was causing it and they didn’t think it would matter due to no treatments. As time went he would lag as his leg was slow to move forward. By the time he was 12 he started knuckling and scraping until his knuckles bled along with the other mentioned symptoms. By this time I knew he had degenerative myelopathy and told the veterinarian. They said there was nothing they could do. At 13 years & 10 months I had to let him go as he could no longer get himself up or walk. I wish thet would have helped him. But they just didn’t want to. He was such a good dog. I miss him so much.
For parvo have any home remedies?.where can I find your book?
Thank you for this video. My service dog Gracie stopped eating but drank alot of water this was for a couple weeks I took her to the vet they did blood tests and she was in full kidney failure and passed away 3 weeks later. She was 12 almost 13 years old. I have been watching you for a few years and knew that for 2 weeks of not eating hardly and drinking alot wasn’t good, I had to wait to get into my vet and to get that bad news. I gave her lactate subq twice a day for over a week took her back and there was no change in kidney function. The hardest thing was to see my beloved dog go through that.
I really needed this ! This just happened to my dog.
I have struggled with guilt even though I didn’t see any signs, until he collapsed, with white gums.
ER At 3 am ., Blood in the belly @ 15 1/2 years old, it was time to say goodbye💔
