I’m so glad I found you as a fellow Canadian with a black poodle. I’ve learnt so much from your channel and book. Thank you for all you do!

I like baking soda personally but even salt, diluted 😊hydrogen peroxide or especially vinegar. You’re trying to kill a parasite.

    What about Aerius 5mg? Desloratadine?

Thank you for doing the weight amounts. My vet told me that my dog is supposed to only take one Zyrtec per day and he weighs 34 pounds. No wonder he has still been itchy. Sadly my vet is probably hoping I will pay for the $350 prescription medication he sells.

  10. @elisabethlavoie7655 on June 24, 2025 at 2:28 pm

Twice a day even if package says 24h effectiveness ?

  11. @eN-pl4vk on June 24, 2025 at 2:30 pm

An adult human dose of certirizine is no more than 10 mg in 24 hours. You’re saying 10 mg for a 20 lb. dog, twice a day. So, for a 40 lb. dog, that would be 20 mg. x 2 doses = 40 mg. per day. I"m checking other sources before I give our dog your recommended dose.

Dr! Utmost respect for your natural cures. These antihistamines only relieve the itching but are not a cure, correct?

  21. @zoelafantaisie9287 on June 24, 2025 at 2:38 pm

NO pharma products – neither for humans, nor for animals. How about you find out why your dog is so itchy? Why did you let it get so bad you need to freak out and use poison?

  22. @Grabfma040508 on June 24, 2025 at 2:42 pm

    Zyrtec

  23. @greatfulchristian4314 on June 24, 2025 at 2:42 pm

Ty Dr Jones. Your videos have helped many ppl realize alternative homeopathic is better than chemicals on our animals.

  24. @addie8292 on June 24, 2025 at 2:44 pm

Zyrtec didn’t help my dog at all. Now what? What is wrong with my dog’s skin. It’s not flea’s.

I just use emu oil on a tray cat after I shave him, is it safe? He’s allergic to flea bite and have scabbed everywhere.

  31. @Mourningdove55 on June 24, 2025 at 2:52 pm

Please let me know if it’s safe for cats? Treating my cat for ear mites that are all over her face and she scratches with her paws and her paws are also itching now! Her face is raw and pink with very few hair.

  32. @cilantrogarden on June 24, 2025 at 2:52 pm

  34. @natalieramsey7068 on June 24, 2025 at 2:52 pm

Do the “recent” findings regarding Zyrtec and the adverse effects it can have on humans causing them to feel itchy all over when trying to come off of the medication apply to animals in the same way?

  35. @Sieteeight on June 24, 2025 at 2:56 pm

I now follow this channel ❤

  36. @brendawhitfield1219 on June 24, 2025 at 2:56 pm

  37. @tablstewart on June 24, 2025 at 2:56 pm

My dogs dose would be 3 mg. Can you break up the pill?

  38. @riyanbutterflyabundance on June 24, 2025 at 2:57 pm

    Thank you!!!❤

  39. @i.k.6055 on June 24, 2025 at 2:58 pm

MY personal dose for a grass pollen allergy is just one tablet a day for it to work. Why give my 50 pound dog 2.5 pills? Will start with just one. My dog doesn’t have parasites so it is an allergy to something in the environment. Zyrtec doesn’t cure parasite infections.

  40. @brendawhitfield1219 on June 24, 2025 at 2:59 pm

And so healthy. You’re the best.

  41. @me67226 on June 24, 2025 at 3:01 pm

  45. @ronjean6034 on June 24, 2025 at 3:05 pm

could I substitute Fexofenadine for Cetirizine ?

  46. @sandylivinggratefulness9754 on June 24, 2025 at 3:06 pm

Oh ok my 77 lb dog would take 3 10mg tablets of Zyrtec. Thank you doc.

  47. @eN-pl4vk on June 24, 2025 at 3:07 pm

I looked into this. The standard dose for a 40 lb dog is 10-20mg, once or twice a day. So 10-40mg per day. I switched from diphenhydramine (Benadryl) to 10 mg certirizine, twice a day and noticed our dog has less itching spells and isn’t sleeping most of the day. That makes us both happier. Thank you Dr. Jones.
