Switch to homemade food people mix veggies and raw meat and some carbs. It’s that simple our dogs don’t want good looking kibbles but balanced diet. Don’t be lazy keep it simple and natural.

  16. @Stephie2007 on May 21, 2025 at 12:07 pm

I have been researching dog food brands (looking to adopt my own dog some time after my mom’s dog (15 y/o pekingese) passes as the apartment we share has pet restrictions) and I actually never seen this brand and I have a pretty good idea why. 🤔

But my mother’s dog does eat Freshpet.

  19. @SkyeMonta1884 on May 21, 2025 at 12:10 pm

I have to disagree with her. Giving to much protein is harmful for their kidney creating stones and kidney disease. They do make food for dogs who are allergic and stomach sensitive. I have a Rottweiler and have tried this brand since Victor took their products of their shelf cause of the salmonella outbreak! No issues with the salmon and sweet potato grain free brand. You can supplement protein by giving your dog raw beef which I do give my dog and I give my dog boiled eggs as extra protein but would rather lower the protein intake cause don’t want stones developing in the kidneys.

How about Ivory Coat dog food??

  21. @burntbeansoup on May 21, 2025 at 12:12 pm

I find multiple things wrong with this review. First of all, there is no such thing as a "filler" that is whole grain. Ingredient splitting is real, but rice and corn and all that are very nutritious if in the correct portions. Second, dog food SHOULD NOT be human grade. Dogs have always eaten our scraps. For dogs to have a complete diet, they must eat the bones and the organs and the feathers and the fur that we don’t want. Human-grade is a marketing strategy. I find this all very disappointing, coming from a "nutritionist".

  27. @antoinettezekoff8536 on May 21, 2025 at 12:19 pm

Large breed puppy food. I have a dane, and from what a vet told me, that you don’t wanna give them too much protein. So if this one’s bad for my dog? What 1 is good for a large breed, Great Dane.

  28. @wade_says on May 21, 2025 at 12:21 pm

Dog Food Advisor gives Diamond Naturals a 5/5, protein content is higher than most. Very confusing you would say the opposite.

  29. @kweenjade01 on May 21, 2025 at 12:22 pm

I personally give my husky oatmeal, couscous, potatoes and rice because he needs them to maintain a healthy weight. This is obviously in addition to several meat sources and im always rotating his food and trying new things as he’s a picky eater (husky). There are some brands and ingredients that i will absolutely stay away from and i cook more than half of my dog’s meals.

I like Rachel ❤, but i learned a looooong time ago to not take her advice to heart. I do the best i can, with what I can. I know i put in a ton of effort and my dog is healthier than almost (if not all) the dogs i come across 🤷‍♀️. That’s okay for me. Also where i live, a lot of the things she mentions aren’t even accessible to me or not sustainable. (And i don’t just mean financially, but if a seller is jacking up the price tw/thr-ice as much as everywhere else? Im not supporting them by buying! 😅 Bcuz if that’s something they’re willing to do then what else are they doing behind the scenes?! The biggest concern for me is constant availability. Nothing’s worse than having your dog hooked on a food and having it out of stock)….

But what really gets to me with Rachel’s videos (and likely why i haven’t even stumbled on one in a good yr or so) is that she loves to tell u what NOT to do….without offering PRACTICAL solutions. You do your thing and ill do mines ❤.

Our dog died to this food. The food bloated our dog James and Izzy, James did not make it out alive. Do not feed your dogs yeast of any kind, and to the people who support diamond, please don’t feed your dogs this. We are HEAVILY against it.

  37. @willmoritz7560 on May 21, 2025 at 12:30 pm

I’m sorry, but you cannot be serious about having knowledge in dog nutrition and make the comments you are.
Dog food doesn’t need to be human grade. Honestly if that’s what you want you should be cooking for your dog. Second the presence of carbs is essential for energy while also giving omega fats which are needed to maintain muscle and skin health. Diamond naturals isn’t the best but it’s definitely a better choice than most of the food in general pet stores.

  38. @noi9425 on May 21, 2025 at 12:32 pm

I’m a little confused by this channel. There’s about 2% of dog food brands she would recommend. Even what other vets and nutritionists would, she wouldn’t. None of the foods have been in an average price range. Either she’s the goat of dog food, being paid by these companies, or a complete idiot. I would love to know which one for the sake of my new pup that anxiety is already through the roof about.

  39. @684boibeast6 on May 21, 2025 at 12:35 pm

Pet owners are so tired of all this back and forth information between veterinarians. Everything is either good or bad! Unless you’re a millionaire, people can’t afford expensive dog food, period! Who made you an expert?
