My lab is 68lbs it would be over 300.00 a month to feed her, that’s not feasible on my budget so I make my own and can cut that in less than half by buying human grade at supermarket, beef, chicken, liver, turkey, spinach, or kale, carrots, blueberries, eggs, apples, broccoli, I Lighty cooked in a turkey pan then it all goes in food processor in batches, I then fill gt containers and freeze it leaving one out. lasts about 2 months mixing it with a high-grade kibble at every meal. This takes me about 2 hours every few months. She loves it and looks great; I get a blood test every year to check for problems. Am retired a few hours which 45 min is cooking is included is nothing to me to have a healthy dog. I Also make all her treats dehydrated chicken breasts or even a beef roast on sale, cut everything like bacon size 6/7 hours in dehydrator, I cut them in small pieces and have enough for a few months also. Sounds like a lot of work it’s not for my best friend
Already looking at it online it says starting at 1$ impossible with inflation and then it say $2 -12$ a day still seems too low with inflation because the raw diet is something like 70 percent meat if your using real meat dog is probably eating a atleast 1lb I just didn’t think it was really feasible
Many comments on Reddit about their dogs developing pancreatitis from this food.
I have a 2-yr-old toy poodle and recently subscribed to The Farmer’s Dog. He loves the food and I am very impressed with their customer experience. The food arrives on time and they keep you well informed along the way. They also always have someone available to answer questions via text. Since he is small, the cost is $2.48 per day. I am well pleased with The Farmer’s Dog.
Agree on making sure protein, fats and carbs are high quality. NonGMO animal protein. Consider fish low in mercury and not farm raised. Also carbs must be high in polyphenols and fiber etc.
I wish the packaging had list of ingredients and macronutrient amounts.
No way, my 1 year old Saint Bernard girl is 105 pounds already. It’s way more affordable to follow your home made meal recipes than this Farmers Dog food.
I did get 60% off my first box and they loved it. Problem is I have two dogs haha. So now I do frehlet from the store and add that to a cup or so of kibble. They really enjoy it and look forward to it.
I don’t know how your dog will do, but I love this food. I eat the shit out of it.Its so good!!!
I didn’t get the plastic container!!! 🙁
I have been feeding my dog Rice for about 3 years now. It’s convenient and Rice loves the food; her favorite is the beef recipe.
How much does the pricing cost? Does it like cost something like every month?
This is a great company and very healthy food! Our dog loved it before she died at 15.. thank you for helping her live longer
Just came here to comment I thought this was Jack Harlow reviewing dog food from the thumbnail. Good review though
Nice…….if you have a lot of money. Not feasible for most people unfortunately.
What are other popular options for gentle cooked dog food?
Vegetables are not part of a canine’s natural diet. Their digestive systems are not made to deal with plant based food. No dog ever went into a farmer’s field and attacked the sweet potatoes or broccoli.
You are quoting way too much info from Farmers Dog website.. No way am I trusting that as a reliable source of information. To be honest I had been considering Farmer’s Dog.. until I saw your review. I’ll pass.
We don’t test human food as much as farmers dog test the dog food lol
I forget how it happened, but we ended up with a box of food that we could not use. My boyfriend called and explained and said that he would pay for it, but they would have to wait a bit. They told us not to worry to just keep it and did not charge us. Also, they said if we could no longer use it to donate it to a local shelter. Now that’s a good company!❤
I have been feeding Eddie "The Farmer’s Dog" for a few months now. I’m on a fixed income and wish the food wasn’t so expensive, that being said, after watching "The Boss of the Swamp" on U-Toob, and seeing what happened to Tildy, their Border Collie, I think I’ll stick to the Farmers Dog. I don’t want to put my pup through that hell.
Let us know what’s up
My Thick British style Labrador lived to 14 years old. We stopped his hunting water retrieves 3-4 years ago. At the end he was blind in one eye and bad arthritis. He was giving up and not enjoying life. Took him for his final swim in Lake Superior with me holding him. He was fed Purina Dog Chow. Long life.
Farmer’s dog is trash!!! It made my dog sooo sick she almost died. Ate it for about a year then all of a sudden it attacked her. Almost got put to sleep. She looked like a stage 5 cancer patient. All that money they charge for freaking junk!!!
The farmer’s dog also gives you the ability to make your own food and they will send you the synthetic vitamin packet so when I do that I incorporate higher quality meats into his diet only giving him grass fed beef, will this make it better? Through the recipe they also recommend white rice instead of lentils, and I wanted to know your thoughts on that
Please tell me opinions of Dr Marty dog food AND Chuck Norris’ brand Lone Wolf. Both seem right up there with the best on all counts!
I have a 13yo 5 lb chihuahua and she was having terrible skin issues. Tried all kinds of different store bought food. Finally gave in and did Farmers Dog. Her skin issues were better in a month and now easily managable when she has a flare up. Cost me about $150 every eight weeks or so. Still cheaper than vet visits. Thanks for your video!
No dog owner gives a shit that they don’t do other species. If someone wants a cat version then go for it.
Who here works in one of those facilitie?s shout your name out yo!

They show you everything that goes into your dogs food and posts everything about the process pretty cool not many do this
Been feeding our two Corgis FD for 3 years now. Cured our one Corgis skin issue and also, they hardly shed, and Corgis are known for mass amounts of shedding
The Packaging is horrible for the Environment. A lot of Styrofoam , dry ice packaging, not to mention the delivery getting it to your place of address. The food also comes in plastic packaging. That alone is a huge turn off. The price ? Unaffordable. You can purchase chicken and vegetables, place it in a crockpot and you know exactly what your dog is getting.
i had a hard time with the site it has a dog on there that i no longer had i tried to change it to my new dog and never got it through
Too pricey….I buy high quality canned and kibble, but I supplement with raw muscle/organ meat. My dog seems very healthy. No chicken.
Hydrocodone works much better when administered with acetaminophen. This is another example of chemicals working better when used together instead of alone
Would you mind doing a video on Blue Buffalo. My dog eat this and I cant find any videos on them, thank you!
My job says that they use potatoe fillers. Is this true? You didnt talk about that so was just wondering is this true
My dog Absolutely hated this food he even threw up in front of me too let me kno 😂😂😂
I hate the packaging it comes in tho. Thinking of switching to Pet Plate cause it’s Mess Free.
2 out 5 Variety is too severe. You stated there were 2 recipes but in actuality there are three plus if you consider you can make at home there are many many more
My dogs absolutely love this food.
The problem with mass distribution "fresh" food is illustrated by the Farmer’s Dog, and by the video, as occasionally recognized by certain of the presenter’s statements. Farmer’s Dog is not transparent. It does not disclose or verify its actual food sources on its site, or on its packaging. There are no disclosures of its facilities. There are no testing or investigation certificates, such as are used in, say, olive oil, or certain supplements. Remember that anyone can use the language, Anyone can say anything about claimed "human grade" or "USDA approved" (If anyone even gives weight to that anymore given USDA lapses), or "USDA inspectors." Anyone can say generic things like "sending batch samples to the lab." There is no objective evidence. Sending samples "out for inspection," by the way, is not inspection of the facility. It circumvents inspection of the facility. Look at what just happened with Boar’s Head. Some of the facilities were horrific and the product was sent throughout the country into grocery chains as premium product (still is). So as to Farmer’s Dog, the true sources of its ingredients, the location(s) of its production facilities, the actual testing and inspection of its facilities, and the grading, are simply not being transparently disclosed. That is a red flag. These companies sending out "fresh food" need verifiable testing and transparency, and until that happens, food like this is a risk.
I do thank you for the conflict disclosure–that some commissions are being earned by the promotion and orders placed from it. But we all need some pressure on Farmers’ Dog from reviewers to increase their transparency.
I’d feed it if it weren’t 500.00 a month for my two medium/large senior dogs. Ridiculous. I’m making it myself for far less and superior imo. I know what is in it and I can budget it.
Mine gets a little bit of kibble. Then I might add some cooked rice/ mixed chopped veggies/different pieces of meat/baked yam skins and his health issues great his age (9),his coat is thick-shiny. When I cook-I’m thinking about the two us. It doesn’t take that long to steam/roast/bake such things because you’re in the kitchen anyways- add a little more for the dog.Researched the intro price of “ Farmers Dog” and it’s definitely marketed towards the “ Boomers” with their disposable income.I’m a “ boomer’ as well but I cook/eat at home 99% of the time. My dog eats appropriately good food. He loves steamed broccoli/ small pieces of crust from the homemade pizza. He enjoys his “ cultural ethnic eating “ experiments from the kitchen.
To exspensive for average family raising kids, pass, back to kibble!
Would you please evaluate Ultimate Pet Nutrition products? Many thanks!!

I’m sorry but this is absolutely ridiculously priced, I could just make my own dog food for MUCH cheaper
Thanks for this.
My dog gained 5 pounds on good quality kibble. I gave Farmers Dog a try and my 25-pound dog is back to under 20 and looks great. He also has less skin issues. I just wanted to get a few pounds off him for upcoming springtime fun. I was going to cancel but he really seems to like it.
Dr Becker is not recommending legumes,or i am wrong?
