I like that it’s human grade. That’s kinda a must. And I don’t understand when you said, you’d rather see sweet potatoes instead of russet potatoes, because they have less sugar??? The sweet potato has 14X the sugar that a russet has. They are both nutritious. Nothing wrong with the russet potatoes

I just started using the honest kitchen limited ingredient fish recipe. I also not a fan of potato 🥔 In dog food. This LI formula does not have potato. Any thoughts on this formula vs the other HK dehydrated foods. Also their cup measurements are 8oz correct ? Love the videos, thanks so much for any feedback

I started feeding my dog Acana in February (switched from science diet), she is a pit/lab mix and just turned 10, well just yesterday she started having bloody stool and I don’t know if it’s linked to the Acana dog food but I’m thinking about switching her to the honest kitchen since it could be better for their digestion. Thank you!

Love your videos! I’ll appreciate your review with the new Open Farm Epic Blend Chicken/beef Salmon & Superfood Dry Dog Food <3 I’m changing my dogs from Hills pet nutrition to The Honest Kitchen, I have two dogs, I’m transitioning them now to the cluster, and now I have the dehydrated option for the next order. But since I like the brand open farm too, now I’m thinking if that one that is new, would be better. Thank you so much and I hope you are doing well!

The Honest Kitchen also chooses women led suppliers/companies if there are any in that market. Lucy Postins is one of my favorite ppl that I haven’t met yet.

Can you tell me the difference between high protein vs grain free cat food?

  22. @cherylshepherd5602 on October 28, 2025 at 8:18 pm

I came across this video while doing research on the idea of dehydrating my homemade dog food. It’s nice to see that HK has a dehydrated food available to feed but after clearing my recipe with my vet, I’d genuinely like to maintain my current recipe. I’m just trying to figure out if HK dehydrated each ingredient separately then mixed them together or if I’d be able to continue to cook his recipe as I normally have, then place it in the dehydrator, then powder it once dehydrated. My dog’s health has improved considerably since I started cooking his food rather than feeding kibble so I don’t want to mess that up. Just looking for a way to preserve it, rather than keep it in the freezer, in case of a power outage.

  29. @terrilite2553 on October 28, 2025 at 8:28 pm

Can you review just food for dogs vs honest kitchen?

  30. @tinasoli2545 on October 28, 2025 at 8:28 pm

How much protein should I add? Replace maybe 1/4 of the dry mix with the same amount of protein?

  31. @0hMiri on October 28, 2025 at 8:29 pm

Thank you for this review! Super thorough and informative. I picked up some of the dehydrated food for my picky puppy today without doing any prior research and I wanted to make sure I made a decent choice. So relieved now, though as you recommended, I will be sure to include extra protein.

    Review open Farm

  38. @heatherguillory900 on October 28, 2025 at 8:39 pm

I dont think it costs more than a specialized vet kibble diet, cost is about the same, and it probably saveing in vet visits in the long run.

  39. @Davidtibi4353 on October 28, 2025 at 8:40 pm

We found Honest Kitchen in 2013, we had four dogs at the time, put them all on this food and within a few months we saw marked improvements in their health: bright eyes, shiny and softer coat, better teeth, more energy, etc
We never give our dogs any other brand

  40. @mamalaurenmichelle on October 28, 2025 at 8:41 pm

I was constantly meal prepping for my dogs, making home made food for them. But i have small children and it was getting hard and timely for me. I’m glad I found this brand and my dogs love it!!!

  41. @julianfelix9372 on October 28, 2025 at 8:42 pm

I have a 1 year old rat terrier / mountain curr mix. We got her when she was 7 months old and was found homeless and infested with parasites, worms and was malnourished. I first started with Petcos whole hearted and quickly learned she needs smaller kibble instead of the all breeds kibble size and then found out she doesn’t chew her food either so we got a slow feeder and she was okay on kibble but her bowel movements were very inconsistent and I knew she needed more so I would put salmon oil in her kibble or bone broths to soften the kibble and it was better. Years ago I worked at Petco and I gave our family dog at the time the honest kitchen and she loved it. She was so old to the point where she was hard to motivate to eat daily and this got her excited to eat again all the way till the end so I got the honest kitchen dehydrated powder food while grain for my dog and her bowel movements are so much better and consistent now, she doesn’t get car sick anymore, no stomach issues and is very well hydrated the point where she’ll drink from her water bowl but not as much anymore cause she gets a lot of water from her food. She’s always been food motivated and liked her food but this was a game changer! I still give it to her in her slow feeder bowl and she actually takes time to eat now instead of scarfing it down and I still put salmon oil and bone broth in her food and I actually make 3 days worth of breakfast and dinner at a time and just keep it refrigerated and it’s cheaper to get the big box on Amazon than going into a pet store to get it and I just have it shipped to me every 2 months

  42. @martincroke75 on October 28, 2025 at 8:42 pm

Only problem I have witnessed…dogs don’t like it! What good is it if dogs refuse to eat it!

  43. @tracywoodward9134 on October 28, 2025 at 8:43 pm

What about the Chicken and Duck recipe? It doesn’t contain potatoes, is the carb content lower in this formula?

  44. @glow-dezzaprincessrebollos1989 on October 28, 2025 at 8:44 pm

i think you calculated wrongly. read online that you should not subtract fiber, since fiber is a carb

  45. @matthewirvin6505 on October 28, 2025 at 8:44 pm

I do fresh with base mix n half dehydrated mix

  46. @mijumaru97 on October 28, 2025 at 8:47 pm

I support the brand and what they stand for. The food smells wonderful when I add warm water. However, I have a big dog and feeding the recommended amount(dehydrated or clusters) made my dog need to go outside to poop about 4 times a day. I currently feed the grain free chicken clusters but I have to mix it with a majority of freshpet.

When I used the dehydrated mix, I had to use very hot water and let it sit for 10 minutes rather than the 3 minutes it said on the box. My dog did not digest it well until I started doing this. I also had to mix it with freshpet to not feed the recommended amount of THK but still meet caloric requirements.

I second the comment about doing a video on fresh pet!
Trying to add more fresh food to my dogs and cats diets.
I know it’s not the best but would be great to do a deep dive and use as a jumping step into higher quality ones!
For me it’s that it’s so easily available at my local pet store and other fresh type foods I’ve seen are subscription based which I don’t want.
