This video has been very informative. I’m traveling to Italy with my chihuahua on September. And I’d like to know what can you do if you pet needs to relieve himself while on the air? Are you allowed to take the pet on your lap? I’m very worried about this.

How heavy is the katziela bag?
Thanks for this! My dog is only 4 pounds, but is 9.5" tall, floor to back… and I’ll be flying Air Canada business, which requires 16x11Hx8W"… I got a Bergan that size, and she’s fine in it… but I can’t help but worry that they’ll say it isn’t tall enough for her, despite their own requirements! I can’t believe I’ve found an additional thing to stress about when flying! (I have literally flown 1 million miles with AC, but never with my pet). I’m thinking I might have a bigger one folded in my checked bag, just in case… argh! Any advice appreciated!

thank you you are very kind to explant .. I didn’t know also wheeled backpacks were allowed. In the US, people are much more open-minded and intelligent. but I have two small dogs a worksheer toys of 2 kg and a small bichon of 3 kg and some European companies accept that a small dog in the cabin it is too stupid because I do not think that my toys is as heavy as a suitcase.. if all the companies could follow the Italian decisions to keep these dogs near you no matter how many dogs you have with you

Wonderful advice thank you! I have a question I’m getting ready to take my chihuahua/daschind mix from France to America. On Air France’s website it says the carriers size limits are 18 x 11 x 9 1/2 inches * and I’ve found several carriers close to that size but nothing that tiny. The dog is within the weight limit and she’s small, do you think they’ll still accept her? Thanks x
What a GREAT video, so full of wonderful information! Thanks so much! I loved the Sherpa Deluxe, but I also loved the wheeled capability of the Katziela Luxury Pet Carrier. I’ve never flown with a pet before and the thought of trying to carry the pet carrier (my dog weighs 17 lbs) on one shoulder plus steer my suitcase through an airport…oh, and my purse too (maybe on the other shoulder), yegads, talk about daunting! Is that how you travel or do you have another secret for easier transport through the airport? Can the Sherpa Deluxe come with wheels and a handle? I so appreciate any suggestions you can offer–I would be traveling by myself with my dog.

I was wondering have you ever used the Sherpa Deluxe size large on an American Eagle flight operated by AA? Have you had any push back? I got the Sherpa Deluxe size large and I love how springy and roomy it is. My Maltipoo is 11 lbs but per his body type seems to fit best in size large rather than medium. Thanks in advance.

Hey Amanda- thanks for this video- I know you were talking about US flights but do you know anything about flying in cabin on WestJet by chance. My dog is 20 pounds and their carrier size is very small but I have read that the large sherpa will fit under the seat.
So basically as long as can can squish into the required dimensions I will be fine? I just adoped a dog and she will probably be around 15pounds, but I am freaking out because the dimension required for the bag is not supposed to be taller then 20cm (7.5inches) but i think this is super small.

Where do the wheels go for the katziela? I read that they need to be removed before the flight, but where to put them? Wouldn’t that count as an extra item?

Hi Amanda – very helpful, clear and concise video! Love that you showed each carrier individually. Have you had experience with using the Sherpa Large in cabin on American Airlines Airbus A321 neo? I’ve heard the underseat area is particularly small for this type of aircraft. Were you able to fit this carrier under the seat comfortably (in either economy or business), or was it a very tight squeeze? Thank you!
