I have a Neakasa M1. My cats love it, they have a clean box EVERY single time the get in it. They’re BIG boys, too, so I love the open top so they’re not brushing against that nasty inner drum where the poo rolls around on its way to the disposal chute. I prefer it because of my work schedule and I refuse to apologize or defend my preference. I agree with Jackson on pretty much everything – but not this.

I love my cats like they’re human children and using an automatic litter box for WHATEVER reason you do – is your choice. Hard stop. Just make sure you’re not getting one of those cheap ones where the inner drum rotates front to back – cats have been killed when they got curious and the sensors didn’t sense them peeking inside and their heads got caught when the gap closed as the drum rotated. The inner drum should rotate left to right and not ever close over the opening (Litter Robot, Snowy, etc…) or get an open-top one like Neakasa or Popur.

We all want to do the best we can for our furbabies, but I don’t like condemning anything out of hand. People arguing over auto vs trad litterboxes, wet vs dry food, etc… Stop it already. Like smug human mothers arguing over bottle vs breast – yeah, breast is the best, but not everyone CAN breastfeed for a myriad of reasons and formula fed babies thrive just as well. Give the self-righteousness a rest already, people are doing the best they can.

I donโ€™t believe there should be judgment against automatic litter boxes compared to traditional ones. They are helpful tools for anyone. Scooping litter doesnโ€™t necessarily indicate a good cat guardian. You want to spend time with your cat and have companionship, and I donโ€™t think scooping poop and pee makes you the best cat parent. In my opinion. Yes, litter has been around for a long time and is still used in automatic litter boxes, so I donโ€™t understand the argument against them. We all use tools in our daily lives that make life a little easier, and automatic litter boxes are another tool. Iโ€™ve had both types, and I donโ€™t judge either, but if I had to choose, Iโ€™d go with an automatic litter box. Itโ€™s just practical and helpful. I understand that thereโ€™s some marketing for their own litter brand in this ad but their litter isnt the litter from the good ole days either (although itโ€™s a more sustainable option that many automatic litter boxes actually recommend using in their machines that i actually use myself). Letโ€™s give people grace and if you decide to scoop, good for you but if you dont, thats also great. Letโ€™s just focus on giving our beautiful little terrors the great life they deserve! Something to ponderโ€ฆ.

Litter robot 4 is amazing, keeps track of their weight and you can even put a camera on it, while gross, can help you identify health problems and which cat has them. Personal choice but it saves your back.

  4. @OldBon3s on June 24, 2025 at 2:11 pm

I invested $600 on a litter box that was on sale normally priced $900 because I was having to have another back surgery and Iโ€™m always pretty much bed ridden for the first 3 months. I hated it and will never use it again. It sits in the garage in the box it came in. I figured out real quick that it was harder to get to where they put the soiled litter and cleaning it was a nightmare and my cat used it but was scared of it so no more and I learned my lesson. I now have the exact same set up as you and my son(my cat) is very happy!

  5. @MizzBellaKitty on June 24, 2025 at 2:12 pm

The knock off litter robots are a complete and total NO in my house. Way too much danger with those and I dont think I could mentally handle seeing one of my babies die via litter box

  6. @Justiceone88 on June 24, 2025 at 2:12 pm

    Not worth cost

I am not here to bash on my ex, but for the love of Cats I couldn’t understand HOW he could ‘forget’ the litter box for days and days, and just let it pile up (if I would be gone for a few days). It was his cat by the way! For me its such a simple thing, morning, noone, night, when I pass in the hallway where the box is, and see something done, I immediately take it out and put new litter in to supplement. That way I never have to ‘remind’ myself to clean it, because it gets cleaned twice/trice a day ๐Ÿค—
I love the diaper box there, that’s such a good idea! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿฉท๐Ÿพ

  12. @AngelusMortis-d4g on June 24, 2025 at 2:22 pm

I just don’t trust one not to turn on while my cat is trying to go

And I worry for the psychological/physical harm it could potentially cause tbh

  13. @ZeddyAndijani on June 24, 2025 at 2:22 pm

Back injuries are the problem and an automatic litter box is one way to help with it

  14. @Naz-M on June 24, 2025 at 2:22 pm

I think it’s important we clean the litter box ourselves to makes sure out cats are Healthy, they are pooping normally and peeing. You can tell a lot about a cats Health just by looking at how much they pee and poop and what it looks like.

  15. @ZetJeeTee on June 24, 2025 at 2:23 pm

To come home every day after a long day of work and NOT have my home smell of pee and poop, absolutely makes me LOVE my automatic litterbox. I always have an extra, old fashioned litterbox out in case my cats prefer to use that one or of a malfunction of the litter robot. But my 3 cats hardly ever use the conventional litterbox. No convincing me that an automatic litterbox is no good. My odor free home and my cat’s behavior tell me otherwise.

Would you tell me what litter you use? Love your videos

  18. @homiesenatep on June 24, 2025 at 2:26 pm

I hate scooping litter Iโ€™ll never scoop it again. Thatโ€™s why Iโ€™ll get the automatic cat scooper. Iโ€™ll never bow down to my cat by scooping her poop. Iโ€™m the master, so the robot cleans it for me

  19. @mobking999 on June 24, 2025 at 2:27 pm

automatic litter boxes are the one of the greatest inventions of the 21st century.. do you still use a flip phone Jackson?

  20. @Eric-lq6yk on June 24, 2025 at 2:30 pm

I use a semi auto cat litter box so i still clean my litter it’s just easier

  21. @juliestachowicz7449 on June 24, 2025 at 2:36 pm

OMG I have to clean out my one cat’s litter box a few times a day because if I don’t she’ll find some newspaper in the living room & poop on it. I’ve stepped in her poo before & It makes me crazy if it gets inbetween my toes!. Then once a week I have to make myself empty it out completely & wash it in my bathtub with hot water & dish soap & I really hate to do it but it’s got to be done! I am having a hard time finding the right kind of kitty litter too. I use Cat’s Pride because it’s fairly cheap & it comes in 10 gal jugs which I buy thru Amazon & they deliver it for free ๐Ÿ˜Šโคโคโคโคโคโคโค

  22. @beedido439 on June 24, 2025 at 2:37 pm

Agree!!! I scoop my catโ€™s stainless steel ($$$) ergonomic litter box (bc princess!), several times a day. I love her and I try and give her the best I can. Although sheโ€™s not a cuddler and she is filled w tortietude!!!! Lol

  24. @sophiecork1401 on June 24, 2025 at 2:40 pm

Guardianship doesnt mean making your life difficult if there’s and easier option, a lot of these trays help you monitor your cats toilet habits too ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

  25. @lynnflynn5591 on June 24, 2025 at 2:40 pm

Scooping my cat’s litter box enables me to keep tabs on her health. I took "Peggy" to the vet when the amount litter waste dramatically increased. I never would have known of her kidney problem with a kitty litter machine.

  26. @lesliecooper2261 on June 24, 2025 at 2:40 pm

This is ridiculous advice. With that mentality we would be living in shacks and doing our dishes and laundry over a fire.

  27. @Tea_laBlue on June 24, 2025 at 2:40 pm

Quick PSA, donโ€™t let them empty out into the toilet. Our wastewater treatment systems are not able to handle the potential parasites that come with cat waste. Itโ€™s definitely not a good idea to put it into your toilet.

  28. @toniecat1028 on June 24, 2025 at 2:43 pm

I’ve been a TOTAL fan of yours for as long as I’ve known about you! But as a disabled cat lover, it’s the first time I’ve EVER disagreed with you. โœจ๐Ÿ˜ปโœจ

  29. @MothersHeartGypsyDoVe on June 24, 2025 at 2:44 pm

I personally agree with you and have similar sentiments about it.

However, I’m also disabled so I can see from a differing vantage point on this.

I have personally chose the traditional litter box route despite my disability due to my personal feelings & preferences. My litter box is place torso level so that I do not have to stress out my back while cleaning it. I also use a stainless steel pan as its more durable than plastic is, won’t crack or split & doesn’t hold in odors. It works for us.

I have younger cats and they can easily access it though they do get a bit more exercise in the process. My cats don’t seem to have any issues with it’s placement either.

I’m not into automation myself. I’m saddened by how lazy people in general have gotten. I have safety concerns for the cats in regards to automated litterboxes as well.

Though for thos bwho are disabled have a bit of difficulty or pain when bending down at length to clean a litterbox I see it as more of a valuable medical assistive device. My only concern here is cat saftey.

My other thing on this subject on a personal level is it’s a form of bonding with my cats. The observe everything!
They see first-hand that I’m disposing of their funky buisness. They know it’s funky that’s why they bury it! So when they observe first-hand you are willing to completely get rid of the funky stuff and it’s smelling clean so predators can’t locate them. I think they appreciate this and it makes them feel safe & treasured. Cats are very clean, it’s one if their high standards and this shows them we have higher standards as well. All that is essentially lost when a robotic mechanism takes over.

Does it mean one won’t bond with their cat by using one? No. It’s just a lost opportunity to strengthen bonds & have them know 100% WHO cares so very much about their health, safety and clealiness. I would rather keep that aspect as long as possible.

Overall my biggest concern is for the cat: anxiety, stress & safety. As long as it’s safe to each their own.

  30. @chaoticfeminist on June 24, 2025 at 2:46 pm

Iโ€™m disabled; our electric box is a lifesaver and accommodation!

  31. @teresamcg431 on June 24, 2025 at 2:46 pm

We have the Litter Robot & I thought the smell would be disguised better. Especially when there is a very soft smelly turd. But, even though it churns it to the bottom drawer immediately after the cat is done, the smell is just as bad.

  32. @TH-eb5ro on June 24, 2025 at 2:47 pm

Years back I set up a litter box in the laundry room. I installed another dryer vent outlet and a small fan right near the litter box. When the can stepped into the box the fan ran for two minutes and it worked for year before clumping litter. Now I have the box in the bathroom which has an exhaust fan. When I use the toilet I scoop the box, no smell.

Cat killing robots. Don’t buy these litter robots

  35. @Theoriginalbassnorma on June 24, 2025 at 2:50 pm

I’ll have to disagree with you, just this once. My cats love the new boxes. I don’t hand wash dishes anymore either.

I get more health info on my cats now than I ever did before. The boxes are always clean now 24/7. My Cumrige boxes are super sensitive and safe. Anyone who worries about safety can manually "flush" rather than timing it. I get each cat’s weight and the number of times they use the box.

Every time I dumped litter before, I washed the traditional box with mild soap and water. I do the same with the Cumrige boxes. For me and my cats, these flushing boxes are the next best thing to sliced bread! I waited a decade for the tech to catch up and it has.

I agree with you and thank you for all of the advice you give cat owners. I just depart with you on this one.

  36. @amberhyland on June 24, 2025 at 2:51 pm

    What litter box is that?

  37. @melrenee5416 on June 24, 2025 at 2:52 pm

I have ADHD, and so my sense of time is nonexistant. I gladly scoop the litter box when I remember, but what I think was yesterday is sometimes two weeks ago and my cats don’t deserve that shit. I’m saving up for one because its an easier solution than continuously fighting for medication nobody wants to let me try because I lasted this long, I obviously don’t need it to survive ๐Ÿ’€ I try my damn hardest to keep up but I never last longer than a week straight before I can’t keep up with the flow of time again ๐Ÿฅฒ

  38. @foreverlearning9613 on June 24, 2025 at 2:53 pm

At this point in time Iโ€™m doing the old fashion way, but with a twist. I use wood pellets that turns into sawdust on a litter pad. The reason I like this is I can see the health of my cats by looking at their pees and poops. A robot litter box will prevent me from seeing if my girl kitty has crystals in her pee (pink pee), or digestive issues. Moving away from clay or wheat style litter was such a relief and saved so much money! ๐Ÿ˜Š

  39. @sbooooooo on June 24, 2025 at 2:55 pm

What kind of litter is that?

  40. @Silverdurango215 on June 24, 2025 at 2:57 pm

automatic litter boxes are sooo dangerous. God Bless!

  42. @SSJ3Palmer on June 24, 2025 at 2:59 pm

You should always make your short videos with Eminem music playing in the background

  43. @KatherineCraig1111 on June 24, 2025 at 3:00 pm

You should look into stainless steel litter box, more hygienic, and easier to clean.

  44. @rachaelvaughan1017 on June 24, 2025 at 3:00 pm

Ive heard stories of cats getting injured or worse from these robot litter boxes. I don’t know if i would want to take that risk

  45. @DebbyHerold on June 24, 2025 at 3:00 pm

We have three cats and I also have three slipped discs in my back. I love our Litter Robot 4 and so do our kitties. Don’t judge those of us who use them. There is a reason and it works and I have three very happy kitties which matters most.

  46. @Video9 on June 24, 2025 at 3:02 pm

Yes, definitely worth it. End of story

  47. @Khopper224 on June 24, 2025 at 3:02 pm

I will say that automatic litter boxes are really helpful if you have a disability that makes physical stuff difficult. It helps save my energy so I can do other things for my cat like playing with them or trimming their claws.
