I’ve used Fancy Feast wet cat food for many years. About 5-6 years back, my vet informed me older girl cat was too heavy. A Vet dietician was consulted and the result was to stay away from any of the wet foods that contain gravy, as the gravy is exclusively carbs.

The Fancy Feast Pate food average about 110 calories per 3 ounce can, so all of the gravy flavors were out. The cats enjoyed the Ocean White fish, Seafood Feast, Salmon, Chicken Feast and Turkey Feast.

In the past year and a half, Fancy Feast canned food has been a let down, as whole cases of food with 20 plus months of best before date have cans that swollen. Purina offers up a coupon, but isn’t fixing the problem. Now a search for a new food is on.

Doesn’t aims have grains and artificial coloring like caramel?

  3. @chrispetrillo9042 on June 23, 2025 at 2:09 pm

I feed Hickory Applaws wet and dry food. It is a little more expensive but better quality. He also gets Temptations snacks once a day.

Boss Cat, Open Farm, Dr Marty, Lotus, Rawble, Stella & Chewy

  6. @wyrmpowerx on June 23, 2025 at 2:11 pm

My cat doesn’t care what exerts say she likes what she likes and will only eat enough to keep alive if I don’t give her what she likes.

  7. @johnpaulhenry2566 on June 23, 2025 at 2:12 pm

My cats are between fourteen to eighteen years old. Which of the products in your video would you suggest for them.

  8. @teresewecker on June 23, 2025 at 2:14 pm

I may be crazy… But I don’t give my cats tap water… I’ll give them a high end bottled water… Until they were outside in the backyard with me… And we’re drinking out of a water puddle… I was mortified !!!!

  9. @beccadmyamazinglife2212 on June 23, 2025 at 2:16 pm

My 2 kittens eat Fancy Feast. I also have a 6 year old cat who won’t eat any canned food. I try giving it to her occasionally but she never touches it

  10. @dymphna1125 on June 23, 2025 at 2:17 pm

None of those are good options really. I’ve been feeding my kitten tiki cat baby and weruva kitten formula wet with nulo baked & coated kitten dry. Eventually plan on switching to smalls cat food.

  11. @bastionsea2829 on June 23, 2025 at 2:18 pm

My kitten actually prefers both types, after she’s come back in from exploring outside, she’ll go straight to her dry food ignoring her wet food for a little. At times she will also eat a bit of her dry food, then look at me until I get her some canned food to eat

Strangely, she will nag me when I have ice cream or cottage cheese, and then eats her serving like it’s a treat (she will avoid anything that isn’t good for her, so I don’t expect it does anything to her system)

Several of the recommended brands specify indoor, since there are three cats that are often outside, are those options still a good choice for them,or should we look elsewhere

  12. @glasslinger on June 23, 2025 at 2:18 pm

Sponsored by the cat food industry!

  13. @marlowalexander7677 on June 23, 2025 at 2:20 pm

This is just a list of foods I’d never recommend. The info in the beginning of the video states to avoid fillers and by-products… but then lists a bunch of foods that contain those ingredients. 🚮 bad info, thumbs down.

  14. @lynleewillette9257 on June 23, 2025 at 2:21 pm

Excellent information… I always get confused as to what kinds of food to get so this is really helpful! Thank you!

  15. @marianamarica9591 on June 23, 2025 at 2:21 pm

Honestly, I thought this would be very informative, but as a cat owner I consider these to be high-end:
    1. dry food: Orijen, Acana, Applaws, Purizon, Carnilove, Taste of the wild
    2. wet food: Schesir, Applaws, Canagan, Core and eventually Petkult

  16. @patriciaharrison on June 23, 2025 at 2:24 pm

My LanaBella is supposed to be eating a cat food diet mainly of duck and venison but she refuses to eat it, so I give her Fancy Feast chicken 🐔 with beef and chopped grill! I also put in some fresh water. 💦

  17. @MousieBrown944 on June 23, 2025 at 2:25 pm

I’m a lifetime cat person. I have a mid to low income. Purina cat chow naturals and inside cat formula naturals do GREAT for my cats & my neighbor’s inside cats. I supplement with Friskies canned shreds in gravy or pate (chosen by my cats as their can food preferences). If I were wealthy, I’d feed Purina Pro Plan. It has great oils for fur condition and general health.

  18. @pepperpearl8944 on June 23, 2025 at 2:25 pm

My kitty gets the Nulo Signature stews in two flavors the mackerel and seafood, and chicken a duck. This has lots of gravy which she likes. For dry food I get her the salmon and chicken from Rawz. I used to give her Wellness but she one day would not eat any of it and I found mold in multiple cans.

She also likes the Rawz rabbit pate but that’s a special occasion meal.

I also give toppers from Open Farm, chicken hearts, minnows and such.

  19. @joecombs8315 on June 23, 2025 at 2:26 pm

We feed our Cats Fromm dry and Weruva wet and it has been the best combo for them.

  20. @MousieBrown944 on June 23, 2025 at 2:29 pm

When I see a wild bobcat digging up and eating carrots, I’ll add fancy vegs to their bowls…. [really, who do you think you’re kidding?]

  21. @fxstreamer238 on June 23, 2025 at 2:30 pm

heads feet blood and bones are the most nutritious part of animal you illiterate waste of internet bandwidth

  22. @nyxcin1 on June 23, 2025 at 2:32 pm

Corn gluten, wheat gluten, and soy are not or shouldn’t be part of a obligate carnivore.

I feed Orijen, Farmina, and Rawz. All three have animal protien listed as the first ingredient. With Orijen and Rawz they have multiple proteins. No fillers.

Knowing about ingredients is important but also the order they appear.

Hills, Iams, Science Diet, and most Purina are full of corn and wheat gluten. Even Costco’s maintenance cat food has its first ingredient as chicken.

I’m disappointed in this video. Who sponsored your content?

  23. @kaewbuatoom5300 on June 23, 2025 at 2:33 pm

Science? Like Fauci? NO way! Fauci worked for the DoD

  25. @ninaef4031 on June 23, 2025 at 2:37 pm

All of the foods you mentioned would be the ideal I aim for. However, I have limited financial resources and feed 17 feral cats every day in a registered cat colony in Madrid. Unforfunately, they don´t subsidise the food. Any suggestions for more economical dry and wet cat food of lesser quality but still healthy and available online would be much appreciated. Thank you.

  26. @mswnderwman on June 23, 2025 at 2:39 pm

There’s no way I’d feed any of this junk to my cats.

  27. @MousieBrown944 on June 23, 2025 at 2:39 pm

I will never feed with Iams.

  28. @PurpleRhymesWithOrange on June 23, 2025 at 2:40 pm

With the Iams while you even show 5 different bags you only mention one formula and say it only comes in one flavor; you sell them short
Also why no mention at of the Iams wet cat food?

  29. @lynleewillette9257 on June 23, 2025 at 2:41 pm

Question: both my cats like dry food that have small kibble pieces… what dry foods fit this? They won’t eat large kibble… one cat is smaller and can’t get her mouth around larger pieces. Also she needs hairball control… she’s long haired and is a picky eater. My other cat will eat anything! Lol!

  30. @bonnies9861 on June 23, 2025 at 2:41 pm

Sorry – this is an awful video – cats are carnivores! Why all the dry food? Dry food leads to kidney problems along with a host of other problems. You didn’t mention to watch out for carrageenan – a deadly additive for cats. I wouldn’t feed my kitty any of these.

  31. @dirtymoney8378 on June 23, 2025 at 2:41 pm

Good to see that Colgate-Palmolive and Mars are still keeping the disinformation going.

  32. @patriciamvisnofsky4750 on June 23, 2025 at 2:41 pm

😺😺 good afternoon all 🐱 when I brought home my kittens from St John’s Animals house told me not to give them fish and I don’t give them beef stay with turkey or chicken if I cook a chicken breast will give the cats some with little potatoes and put some v 8 and mix it in they meal

  33. @angielane01 on June 23, 2025 at 2:42 pm

Weruva is our favorite. It is a bit expensive but it is excellent!

  34. @Bearinmind___ on June 23, 2025 at 2:45 pm

can’t even trust the experts with cat food 🤣

  35. @allabouthecats on June 23, 2025 at 2:46 pm

    Awesome suggestions ❤

  36. @WokeUkranianAmerican on June 23, 2025 at 2:49 pm

Tiki cat. Never recalled in the history of their company. All ingredients are human quality. No corn or what gluten. No potatoes. Its a carnivore feast. I also like Kirkland wet food. Its all meat and broth and livers. Dry food is too high in carbs, that can rot their teeth. Most Vets have very short nutrition info, and its mostly by companies like Hill. Most of today’s cat foods are made by companies like Schmuckers a jam company, and candy and cereal companies. My cats loved Bobby Flay’s Nacho brand, I can not find it at the only pet store in Anchorage. Petsmart is expensive and Chewy does not ship here. Most of us ALaskans depend on Amazon for products.

  37. @JoJo-11of11 on June 23, 2025 at 2:50 pm

What’s your take on Sheba cat food

  38. @PurpleRhymesWithOrange on June 23, 2025 at 2:51 pm

For the last 40 years I have fed all my cats Iams dry with occasional wet food. As long as I made certain they have fresh water every day I have not had any problem with them drinking and staying hydrated. Iams has different formulas such as original, hairball control, and senior so pick the one that is best for your cats stage in life. Also don’t just go by price per found. Compared to brands like Purina the cats are able to digest the Iams better so they get everything they need while eating less. An added bonus to that is they also leave less in the litterbox. So even if a 20# bag of the Iams is a few dollars more than a 20# bag of the Purina it will last longer.

  39. @sihr07 on June 23, 2025 at 2:52 pm

    ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

  40. @bbspooks on June 23, 2025 at 2:53 pm

The info at the beginning directly contradicts the following lists of foods… the ingredients are full of by product, grains, and the afformentioned ingredients that are fillers or preservatives that are scientifically proven to damage a cats health… I see you only recommend and listed the mega corporations’ brands which have paid partnerships with veterinary clinics to promote their awful quality food to these poor pet owners. This video is terribly misinformed, spreading harmful misinformation that can harm cats and end up absolutely devastating a cat owner as these babies are our family! You should be ashamed to shill out such low quality food from billionaire companies. Telling poor misguided qnd desperate owners who want the best for their precious babies that these are the top foods when they are in fact some of the lowest quality foods out there.

  41. @susanbook1637 on June 23, 2025 at 2:54 pm

One of the expensive wet foods had rice in it. I thought grains weren’t good for them.

  42. @tiaciao3474 on June 23, 2025 at 2:57 pm

My cat is so fussy. She might like something one day but not the next. I have good dry food, which she eats when she feels like it. It is so difficult to know what to get. I do know she can devour temptation treats.

  43. @bluejay6470 on June 23, 2025 at 2:58 pm

Dry food does not help clean their teeth..big myth plus Royal Canin n Hills is crap. This group knows nothing..an vets are not experts on cat nutrition

  44. @anomalysakawendy108 on June 23, 2025 at 2:58 pm

Hills / Science Diet is pushed by Vets… because they have a deal with them. I would never feed my cats these choices… they are not high quality as far as I’m concerned. For dry, better ones are Orijen, N&D, Acana, Taste of the Wild.

  45. @patricekerstetter8069 on June 23, 2025 at 3:00 pm

The only one I don’t remember is Nacho. The other foods are all conglomerates and they are actually garbage food Hill science diet anything your vet tries to sell you iams Purina any of those even the high-end stuff is garbage

  46. @FitnesssDan on June 23, 2025 at 3:02 pm

    James Wellbeloved?

  47. @janeceeastwood8035 on June 23, 2025 at 3:03 pm

What I find discouraging is that vets never mention raw food, which my research shows is the healthiest food source available.

  48. @lafther210 on June 23, 2025 at 3:04 pm

Royal canin also have a monopoly with the veterinarians. Whenever I mention what I feed my cat they turn their head, saying they never heard of it (despite being quite common), and proceed to recommend Royal Canin…

  49. @gloriap6927 on June 23, 2025 at 3:04 pm

My cat is allergic to chicken. I feed small amounts of Orajen regional red dry or Chewy brand American Journey salmon dry. For wet food it’s some varieties of Fancy Feast
If you’re on a budget, even Fancy Feast is no bargain. I certainly wouldn’t consider it affordable at 90¢ a 3 oz can

  50. @alanamtravis on June 23, 2025 at 3:04 pm

    Is this a joke
