Anybody have experience with ivermectin in kittens and cats with parasitic diarrhea? I can’t find much about it but am wondering…I have a rescue kitten that’s been struggling with diarrhea for weeks, probably months. My vet sent off a fecal sample for a slew of tests ($$$) a week ago & I expect to hear from her today as to what parasite or ?? is causing it. Thanks for any suggestions. It has also infected my other cat.

I’m so despondent. All of the things you mentioned in this video are not available in South Africa. They must be but I haven’t had any success with finding anything. Using the chemical names, I find stuff that has it as an ingredient. The vets here just want to plug my cats with pesticides for their milliary dermatitis. I found a local herbal liquid that has cured one of the cats but this one is being driven nuts with the itching while the Vondi’s kakibos with camomile and rosemary in distilled water does its job. I’ve just given my Turkish van an anti inflammatory with pain killer that he had been given for another injury that I kept when he didn’t finish the course. I’m hoping it’ll give him some peace until we can visit the vet in the morning. It’s 3am here as I write this. He had a flare up at 2.

I had bad experience with the vet. I wasn’t able to go home for 2 months due to family health issues . My little dog got sick, cannot walk brought to the vet and he diagnosed as paralysis. I went home asap, ordered dog stroller as he was just crawling. I started to prop him up and call to follow me. One, two steps slow like a baby. Finally after 3 months he’s walking like nothing happened, he runs fast too. Never used the stroller, still in the box. I went back to the vet and showed him my dog. It’s been 6 years since and my dog is doing ok.

I am surprised how big his cat is, especially if he is a vet as he should know how unhealthy it is.

  10. @claudi010778 on March 12, 2025 at 12:55 am

You’re a godsend, thank you! My sweet little cat ran head first into the bedroom door while we were playing and then not too long after seemed subdued and lethargic. I’m someone who gets headaches and migraines regularly and I’m sure she’s suffering with a bad headache at the very least, though I can’t know for sure… 😕 I feel desperate not knowing what I can do for her right now, but might give your suggestion a try if I can get hold of some of that pain killer for next time. For now I’m keeping an eye on her. If she’s not being herself by the morning, I’ll be taking her to the vets on case it’s a concussion.

Good video, but it would be nice if there was a white board or something visual with the names, dosage, and frequency as a summary. I probably gonna have to watch it a few times before trying to self-medicate my feline, otherwise I would probably end up harming him.

Cat: am I going to die?

  32. @kathleennorton2228 on March 12, 2025 at 1:23 am

Has anyone ever given a cat alpha lipoic acid? I remember giving it a long time ago to a kitty who was having liver, kidney issues, and it helping greatly.
A friend’s kitty got into poison. I know that for poison issues it has really helped with the liver and kidneys for people.
It has amazing benefits for people with bad liver issues. My friend was bright yellow, with very bad liver issues, while in long term hospital care. I started slipping him alpha lipoic acid and horsetail. His chronic, fairly hopeless liver situation cleared quickly up.
Anyway, has anyone else used alpha lipoic acid on kitties? It’s been so long ago for my effective use of it on a sick kitty.

  33. @RoniShawn on March 12, 2025 at 1:25 am

Doc, what do you mean by, “I would ‘clip’ it….? I understand that you’re talking about an abscess. But what do you mean by clip?!?

  38. @triplewinlin5576 on March 12, 2025 at 1:30 am

The vet’s recommendations for treating cats:
    1. Pepcid (a/k/a famotidine, for vomiting, dose is 2.5 mg. per 10 lbs. of cat’s body weight)
    2. Polysporin For Eyes (a/k/a polymix and ramicide, for conjunctivitis, dose is 1 drop, 4x per day into each affected eye)
    3. Chlorpheniramine (a/k/a chlortripalon, for itching/allergies, 2 mgs., 2-3x per day)
    4. Chlorhexidine (for puncture wounds, mix with a little water then use a syringe to flush the area well)
    5. Topical Hydrocortisone cream 1% (for red areas of inflamed skin, squirt 1/4-inch on your finger and apply to cat 2x/day for 7-14 days)
    6. Benadryl (for allergies or as a mild sedative or for anti-anxiety, 1 mg per lb. of cat’s body weight, 2-3x per day)
    7. Robaxin (The ONLY active ingredient must be Methocarbamol – the ONLY safe OTC pain relief for cats, 10 mgs. per lb. of cat’s body weight, 2x per day)

    Please forgive misspellings.

Dr you always used natural products. Whats up now??

  41. @hajime7194 on March 12, 2025 at 1:33 am

My cat got an oral infection , she got an abscess in her mouth under her tung, I took her to the vet and they cleaned the wound and took a sample of the abscess. My question now is how can I clean the wound? Do I just squirt water on it? And what home remedies / medication is good for infection in the mouth. Am thankful for all the help I can get – I’m desperate 😖☺️

Is Gabapentin safe for pain relief for 10yr old? It is constantly prescribed, she hates it being forced in mouth & does not ever seem to help her with pain.

  48. @deloresnewman2016 on March 12, 2025 at 1:41 am

I can’t find the polysporin eye drops anywhere for my cats eyes. Can you use the jell that comes in a tube and how much to administer? I have a ragdoll male cat.
