I can only recommend farmers markets and cooking fresh about 10kg at a time.
A good kibble is about $20-30 /kg which is A LOT.
Get yourself a small freezer, used as low as $50bucks, chest freezers are most efficient and cheap. Buy beef, pork, guts from a local butcher or farmers market. As well as pumpkin, kobocha, carrots, rice, yellow potatoes, sweet potato, corn, eggs and broccoli. Put it all through a coarse grinder and you end up with roughly $12/Kg (CAD) of PREMIUM food that has everything your dog needs. Boil bones and bone marrow and add that. COSTCO sells small plastic containers $25 for 200pcs you can portion UP TO two meals into and reuse quite a few times. Plus you can use the freezer for your own foods. Most kibble is crap or toooo expensive. Cheapest best food is home cooked. You can even eat it yourself in a pinch. Stores for 1year easy. Because it’s wet food, it’s already easy to put into a long or press into a slow feeder. Your dog will have great poop from all the fat and no cancer because of no added sugars or reaction to legumes.

I have a Type 1 diabetic mix (sierra is part German shepherd and part lab). She hates needles to the point we’re giving her anxiety pills and they don’t work), and now off food only water. Help!!!

  3. @trudybeck1406 on June 20, 2025 at 1:39 pm

While I really enjoy your videos, I have found that you may state "Three great tips to crate train your puppy". However, you tend to not get to the tips. I watch to see the tips but you have so much you want to say that you don’t have time for the tips. It’s so frustrating. Keep up the good work and maybe work on actually giving the tips you say the video is about.

  4. @gaypreator8547 on June 20, 2025 at 1:40 pm

All this human grade is laughable.

  5. @cherryny43 on June 20, 2025 at 1:41 pm

I know this is an older video but is it safe to feed freeze dried raw mixed with cooked or can it be fed as separate meals? Trying to cut down on cooking time and cost also. Thank you so much!

  6. @johnfloyd838 on June 20, 2025 at 1:42 pm

I also add some cheese and carrots and peas for my buddy to eat as a topper and he goes crazy when I prepare his food bowl for him ❤️❤️😎👍

  7. @13salinaspride on June 20, 2025 at 1:44 pm

So… i just went through orijen’s ingredients, 1 buy 1, got the definition for every single ingredient in there. It was looking fantastic i was thinking about ordering, until i got to the bottom… it has juniper berries, juniper berries are toxic to dogs. Why would they put this in a dog food that the rest of the ingredients were pretty good. Confused. Anyone got some knowledge to drop on me?

  8. @t6327-e6h on June 20, 2025 at 1:45 pm

Orijen gave my dog gdv and he passed away.

  9. @Michelle-tz7wr on June 20, 2025 at 1:45 pm

What are your qualifications to determine if a dog food is good or not? Are you a DACVN? How do you know what percentage of protein or carbohydrate a dog should have? Did you run a chemical analysis on these foods to determine nutrient bioavailability? The ingredient list doesn’t tell you anything about a food’s quality. That’s like looking at an airplane parts list and determining that it’s good to fly. Meat meals provide the same quality and usually quantity of protein/nutrients as the whole meat does. All the meal means is that the water has been removed. All of these foods have exotic/non-normal ingredients that haven’t been researched to determine quality & bioavailability. None of these companies do research or food trials, employ veterinary nutritionists or even come close to meeting the WSAVA recommendations. These are all implicated in nutritional DCM. You’re putting out a lot of misinformation. You’ve got discount codes for the foods you recommend which makes you a click bait site.

  10. @FiZziCsTV on June 20, 2025 at 1:45 pm

I just watched another one of your videos that contrasts your opinion on Orijen brand. Your videos are misleading and it’s sad to see someone just posting clickbait for views.

  11. @Bear.the.ServiceDane on June 20, 2025 at 1:51 pm

im trying to create a homemade dog food recipe here’s what i have right now for my 120 pound 11 month old great dane
NOTE: this is still a work in progress recipe and we are not feeding it yet.

40 pounds per 2 weeks or 2.8 per day is what we calculated
    .98 pounds sautéed white mushrooms
23.5 pounds of protein of choice
2.6 pounds of chicken liver or whatever liver we can find
3.92 pounds of pumpkin or root veggie mixture
1.3 pounds of fruit like blueberries or apple
1.5 pounds of ground sunflower seeds
3.92 pounds of sardines in water
some sort of calcium like eggs with shell or raw meaty bones

  12. @lyladupuy8040 on June 20, 2025 at 1:52 pm

I’ve been feeding Carna4 Fish to my Terrific Trio for several years as I’m an avid promoter of the "salt divider rule" so I was thrilled to hear you ranked this #1! Upon your recommendation, I also purchased the ceramic slow feeder bowls. I’ve been spraying their food w/Alaskan Salmon Oil or would you recommend something else? As I’m one of your members, I highly value your opinion! Thanks so much for everything you do, your generosity and your genuine love of dogs! So glad I found your channel a year ago! 🤗 God bless you and all your future endeavors! 🐾🐾🐾

  13. @akashperis on June 20, 2025 at 1:53 pm

Guys help me out I’m from India and here most of the brand’s rachel shows are not available I’m using royal canine for my GSD puppy. Is it fine ? Or should I switch to more natural ones like rice and ground beef, liver rice etc

  14. @mwa1252 on June 20, 2025 at 1:53 pm

With all due respect, none of these options are "affordable." Are there no commercial brands that are healthy enough to mix with a good quality canned or fresh dog food? We have three dogs and cannot aford $100 for a 10 or 20 lb bag of kibble.

  15. @katholmes7411 on June 20, 2025 at 1:53 pm

  20. @toyingram4716 on June 20, 2025 at 1:59 pm

So Am I correct? You can’t order Kibble only with Ollie.. you have to get their fresh meat as well

  25. @M.N.M-y7r on June 20, 2025 at 2:03 pm

I would like to say something that you may not know about BARK super chewer subscription. I subscribed super chewer for 6 months. I requested them subscription cancellation in a written form twice before my subscription ended. It never happened and they basically let my subscription renew without my agreement. Since they started to send a new monthly box that I did not authorize, I contacted them but they did their best to continue my subscription and the customer service was not helpful at all. I disputed the unauthorized amount with my credit union, I closed my credit card so that they could no longer take money from me, and I filed a claim through BBB. After all finally they cancelled my subscription and refunded me. This is not happening only to myself. Many people are having the same issues. Please just be careful what you get into and keep everything documented for possible future needs. While it is nice to advertise positive side of the company, public should know the other side as well. I just want to help dog owners as much as you do.

  26. @josiesanosa3152 on June 20, 2025 at 2:04 pm

    Too much explanation. It’s boring.

❤❤❤❤I’ve done so much research on dog food, dry food specifically. I’m unable to find any dog food that is not irradiated in some way. The safest food is natural food you prepare at home. My dog was almost ten years old but full of life and energy and suddenly got cancer. I gave her dry dog food and that’s why she got cancer. While ten years is the average lifespan for a big dog and 10-15 for smaller dogs. My sisters dogs lived almost 20 years because she fed them rice and chicken and cottage cheese and plain whole milk Greek yogurt etc… all natural. They died of old age, never got cancer. That’s your proof. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

  33. @poeslanding on June 20, 2025 at 2:09 pm

You should check out jinx grain free dog food. My dog is never been healthier. Made in the US

  34. @laprock on June 20, 2025 at 2:09 pm

I’m confused, are you a human nutritionist or dog nutritionist? How would a human nutritionist translates to an animal one?

  35. @marianamontoyag on June 20, 2025 at 2:11 pm

I honestly don’t know what to feed my Dalmatian. Every food you recommend has high purines food, like peas or liver 😢

  36. @christinabernier4860 on June 20, 2025 at 2:11 pm

None of these are affordable 🙄

  37. @antoniacain873 on June 20, 2025 at 2:13 pm

Hi can you please help me. My doggy the love of my life got diagnosed with elevated liver enzymes.
I want to feed her healthy home made food. What can I feed her and what vitamins and minerals should I use to supplement her diet?

  38. @Winnipegthewhippetxterrier on June 20, 2025 at 2:13 pm

Lectins are a group of proteins that are found in peas and lentils. Dogs are unable to digest lectins, and it’s this indigestibility which can cause problems. Studies suggest Lectins can cause digestive distress and immune responses due to them damaging the gut wall and making it “leaky”.
Also all legumes block the function of tourine causing DCM

  39. @DeuceDeuceBravo on June 20, 2025 at 2:13 pm

You mentioned being a "nutritionist" – what does that mean? A degree in nutrition? Are you a veterinary nutritionist?
What is an "extreme" temperature for cooking food?
Do you understand that the ingredients are listed in order of pre-cooked weight? And that this is a poor way to judge the final product?
    What is a "synthetic" vitamin?

  40. @thatswhatgetsmeee6044 on June 20, 2025 at 2:16 pm

The healthy food comes in Barbie toy size packaging with a heavy price.

  41. @FableRoseGaming on June 20, 2025 at 2:16 pm

Any small kibble recommendations? Need a something for my small yorkie. I currently feed her Farmer’s dog but would love a small size kibble to add in from time to time.

  42. @trevor3879 on June 20, 2025 at 2:17 pm

no i see this one and am even more confused lol. i do see time stamps of uploads of course but man, im about to go back to half kibble half homemade again going down the rabbit hole ha

  43. @josephkool8411 on June 20, 2025 at 2:19 pm

This lady’s is trippin. Just because large corporation makes a certain food doesn’t mean it’s bad. Orijen is one of the best kibbles you can buy regardless who makes it. I don’t buy it because it’s too expensive

  44. @frogprincess4464 on June 20, 2025 at 2:21 pm

Is it better to go with a more expensive kibble like one of these or dehydrated?

  45. @Mona-yb2in on June 20, 2025 at 2:22 pm

Do you like Honest Kitchen "kibble"?

  46. @christapovec on June 20, 2025 at 2:22 pm

I thought Stella and chewy’s was freeze dried. Is that what they mean by high temperatures?

  47. @Neverbroyals on June 20, 2025 at 2:25 pm

Open farm protein content is insanely high for dogs and is not good for them

  48. @wesmullennix3495 on June 20, 2025 at 2:26 pm

hey is there any benefit to say mixing a higher quality dog food like carna4 and a lower quality kibble doing both?

  49. @AceSavi on June 20, 2025 at 2:32 pm

Hello please make a review about "Brit Premium By Nature – SENSITIVE Lamb and Rice" thanks.
