I want a ball python so bad but they’re illegal where i live. I mean so are pitbulls and I… know people who have those.

  2. @Kellz58 on March 26, 2025 at 3:03 am

Sand and rosy boas are the best to ease into it if you’re afraid at all, imo ❤

  3. @Breviparopus on March 26, 2025 at 3:04 am

I wouldn’t recommend a Kenyan sand boa because if I could only have one snake I’d want to be able to see it

  4. @MXCamRockOn on March 26, 2025 at 3:04 am

    Garter snake

Pine snakes and gopher snakes are the best beginner snake to me. Their appetite is crazy, they are super active and more interesting to watch than corn snakes, their enclosure is pretty easy to build and maintain, they’re very bold and inquisitive, and yes their defensive posture is impressive but also really cool and among all of my snakes, earning their trust was the most rewarding feeling.

The idea that they’re mean and cranky really is a myth

No ball pythons are not good pets , cornsnakes are much easier

I used to have a corn snake and it was my first ever snake. Got told it was the best choice and it just bit me every single time I handled it, ik they r supposed to bite a little from time to time but we literally couldn’t even go near it without it tryna bite me 😭😭

Id much rather have a boa then a ball python i think the guyana red tail boa was much easier to take care of and much much for engageing

Ive had 4 snakes in my history, back in dubai, where my siblings were born, i had a burmese python, i lived it but then i had to leave it, then i got my second ever snake years later, it was a female snow corn snake, she lived with me for abt 3 years and i still have her currently, i then got a wild caught dekays brown snake, it was an adult female but it didnt last long, she was abt 5 years old when i got her and she only lived with me for abt a year, she then died from old age, and then i got a male het pastel ball python, i live him, he is such a sweetheart and hes so adorable, i currently only have 2 snakes, the snow cornsnake and the ball python, i love them both so much, ive raised both of them from babies

  17. @Civil523 on March 26, 2025 at 3:29 am

Corn snake and rat snake should be 1 after the other because Corn snakes are red rat snakes

  18. @Eggs_animation_and_rats on March 26, 2025 at 3:32 am

My first snake is a ball python, but he’s really picky with his food.
He only eats live rats with dark fur that are slow enough so he can get them. my snake is not very smart or fast so it’s really hard to feed him a good meal.
I honestly would suggest corn snakes as best starter pets because they aren’t picky with they’re diet, and they can thrive in a simple setup

Disagree with BP at number 1.
They go on hunger strikes, they need a more humid and high temp tank. Etc..
Corn and garter snakes I have tied #1

  20. @lucaunrau6194 on March 26, 2025 at 3:34 am

Ball python arent good starting Snake. Mine doesnt eat fot 6 months every year and that is fine. But that for a new owner is in most cases really nerve racking. And a new owner would have to thrown rats away. Because they dont have other snakes

I wish more people would give Carpet Pythons the time of day. Irian Jaya Carpet pythons are basically as hardy as a corn snake and top out around 6ft. That was my wifes 1st snake 9 years ago and now she keeps retics and all sorts of stuff. Anyways, IJ carpet pythons have surprisingly low humidity requirements compared to other members of Morelia. They also do not need it particularly hot. Low to Mid 80s is plenty for the warm side. Unlike some carpet python localities they only really need to be misted if they are shedding. My male hasnt skipped a meal in 9 years. One of the easiest snakes i own. Even my ball python technically takes more work because i have to mist her and she likes to skip meals. It is probably true that it is harder to get bitten by a ball python than a carpet python, but my Carpet python hasnt ever bitten anyone either. He has a fantastic feeding response, but as long as you use your head its easy to manage. He is tap trained and all that too. I mostly keep Burms, retics, and an Afrock. So hes kind of like the training snake since he acts very similarly to the retics.

My first was a wild caught (backyard)
juvenile African House Snake. She was a total sweetie. She only struck and barely bit me the first day.
Once she realized I meant her no harm and was in fact her provider, she tamed down perfectly.

  23. @darrenleelayton6052 on March 26, 2025 at 3:36 am

Definitely have a hognose before a ball python.

Me watching this with my african rock python

  28. @Snickerhugo on March 26, 2025 at 3:44 am

If you don’t want your ball pyrhon to go on food strikes I’d suggest a hog island boa as a better pet snake

  29. @AlexTapia8616 on March 26, 2025 at 3:49 am

Can’t believe boas aren’t on this list.

  30. @florinaslan5482 on March 26, 2025 at 3:50 am

Why corn snakes are the worst

I only like ball pythons and Mexican black kingsnakes for snakes

  34. @neverresttv7496 on March 26, 2025 at 3:55 am

Corn snakes are rat snakes, and idc how easy sand boas are, pets that spend 99%of the time underground just ain’t for me

  35. @TemporarilyDeleted372 on March 26, 2025 at 3:56 am

Why would the corn snake be worse out of them all?

  36. @JohanDeClercq-x3v on March 26, 2025 at 3:58 am

Sies man begin met ballpython en dan na corn toe
