Hi! Doctor, sweet potato is not good for dogs? I do have Maltipoos and a toy poodle . I am still searching a good for them . Some times I do cook for them and I mix with sweet potatoes.

Dr. Jones, have you ever received any feedback or info on TLC dog kibble? It’s made by an independent company in Southern Ontario (TLC) and is only available on-line and by word of mouth. The excellent kennel from which I adopted my current GSD sweetheart, switched their dogs to it and recommended it so I bought some. The transition from Fromm’s was really smooth and now "my puppy’s" stools are perfectly formed and he loves the taste. I’m still including, however, cooked beef, chicken, turkey, pumpkin, green beans, spinach, raw chicken feet, hearts, gizzards, eggs, etc. in rotation. BTW Is cooked pork ok for dogs to eat? Thank you!❤🤗

Rice and potatoes constipates my little dog so any suggestions to what I can feed instead? 🇨🇦 Thank you 🐕

Mine gets raw and cooked homemade. She will eat freeze dried beef by chewy and Stella or arcana lamb kibble as well. Thoughts on those brands?

  8. @Dolphinhealingenergy on December 17, 2024 at 4:32 pm

How can any food with salmon, salmon meal or salmon oil not be sourced from farmed salmon? And be absolutely awful for pets and humans alike 🤷🏼‍♀️

  9. @beatdabear on December 17, 2024 at 4:34 pm

I just want my dog to live long and be healthy for more than seven years.

Dr Jones love all your videos and I buy your products. I’m pretty sure the jury is still out on carrageenan. The Natural Balance canned dog food in your recommendation has it. What do you really think about carrageenan? Thank you

I am so grateful for the tips as I know my dog loves different foods and she gets fish, meat and kibble. I will try the stew. Anything important foods for seniors ?

    Vitamins cod liver oil
    Some grain kibble
    Iams

  15. @lorimanson3691 on December 17, 2024 at 4:40 pm

Hello,i was wondering what you think of"freeze dried raw" dog food?

  16. @nancyward9719 on December 17, 2024 at 4:46 pm

I feed homemade raw to my adults. I have a litter of Malinios pups (10days old). These babies will start on a ground raw diet as soon as they start eating. The mix I make is 80% muscle meat ,10% organ meat and 10% fruit/ veggies. They also get raw eggs (from my chickens) about 2/3 times a week.

My dog was diagnosed with nutritionally caused DCM after her vet found a heart murmur. She was 6 years old, and had always (since in rescue as a puppy) eaten Fromms, Kirkland, Natural Balance – I would never trust any of these brands again for ANY of my pets. After her diagnosis, I immediately switched her to Purina Pro Plan Salmon and Rice, and her heart disease slowly reversed.

  21. @Mountain_Spirit on December 17, 2024 at 4:52 pm

What about the Open Farm dog kibble? It’s expensive but it’s supposed to be “cleaner”

  22. @Zizzyyzz on December 17, 2024 at 4:53 pm

Does that mean these were all tested?

  23. @RipJewels on December 17, 2024 at 4:54 pm

    TULA!!!! So cute!

  24. @CarissaBelair on December 17, 2024 at 4:54 pm

This is so helpful to see! My dog is a small Havanese and was on Acana (grain free lamb) for the first 6 years of her life. Now at 8 she has a mild heart murmur. We switched her to Go! Solutions Salmon and grain to include grains at my vets recommendation for the concerns with the murmur. She rated it at a 2. After switching she rated it at a 1 and hardly there. However, now my dog has terrible allergies to the grains (oats) and itching/licking constantly. So we’re going to switch her to the Go! Salmon limited ingredient (grain free). This is why we kept her on grain free for so long but the high fat content of grain free kept giving her pancreatitis. Prior to the murmur from age 6-8 she had been on numerous other foods while trying to control the pancreatitis and we did an elimination based diet. She’s allergic to chicken, brown rice and now oats. So we really don’t know if the murmur was because of the original food or if she was going to develop it regardless of her diet. Basically what i’m getting at is no food is perfect and it is nice to see someone recommend not being exclusively kibble. We’re going to have to step up our game and start cooking!

I feed my cats raw food from My Pet Conivore raw pork and chicken hearts should i feed my dogs the same

  26. @vaughn257 on December 17, 2024 at 4:57 pm

Can you please make a updated list? I was feeding my dog Natures Logic the chicken feast one but he threw it up 4 times in 2 days so I’m scared to continue feeding it to him. I liked the idea of it being a synthetic free food. He hasn’t thrown up in a few days so I’m thinking it may have had something to do with the food. Any advice, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

We use Tractor Supply kibble but add 2+eggs with Curry (Turmeric/blk. pepper) which has proven anti carcinogenic qualities.

I feed my dog boiled chicken breast, blueberries, chia seeds, flax seed, avocado, whole milk unsweetened yogurt, raw carrot, cooked soft broccoli, beef broth, green tea powder, chicken broth, butter, tumeric supplement, and 1/4rd of a cup of dry meal.
    He doesnt get diareha anymore.

    you are the best

  44. @PrimeTime01 on December 17, 2024 at 5:18 pm

Instinct original kibble has Tapioca which turns to sugar and it is the 5th ingredient (the 1st 5 ingredients make up 80% of the mix). It also has Tomato pumace, which is the skin of the tomato and is hard to digest (even for humans). and lastly the most horrifying ingredient: Montmorillonite Clay which is possibly toxic. search: montmorillonite clay toxicity . Bottom line dogs are carnivores and really don’t eat clay. I could go on but this isn’t my show. I feed my dogs the cleanest product on the market "Nulo".

  45. @ConniePerry-z8k on December 17, 2024 at 5:18 pm

With a home made diet makes sure you add vitamin supplements to the meal. Only if you don’t add muscle meat organ meat and some bone.

    Hello love all your information.

Question: when it comes to “prepping”. Which dog food will last the longest on shelves in storage? As we also feed raw and love it. But….if something happens….I need quality, long lasting food for my boy too! ❤
